You know how targert has their way with dropping clearence...the last digit on the price tag can either mean a further dropping or a final set price...well walmart has a few things on clearence with a .00 on the price tag. Does this mean theres no chance it can drop even more or does .00 mean it could still drop...or is wm's pricing random. I know target has a guildline so I was wondering is wm did too.

.00 on a price at WM just means it is on clearance.

Stores take their own markdowns based on their own store budget. They do get some price changes from home office but most of them are store initiated.

Usually, I've found .00 means a clearance item, while .88 could mean it's probably a rollback that rollback even more. I'm not sure, I've just noticed a lot of items at .88

Also, apparently Wal-Mart raises clearance prices back up at times. For example, one Wal-Mart was clearancing Advent Rising at $12.00. I go back in the same store a few weeks later and the price was raised to $29.99 (along with every other game they had at $12.00 - $15.00).

Stores choice. Lot of time WM will clearance something just to get inventory levels under control. Once they are they raise the price back up.

Wal-Mart's clearance scheme absolutely sucks compared to Target. My theory is that it has to do with the amount of space Wal-Mart has...most of the time, I think they can afford to warehouse something or let it soak up shelf space, while Target has to keep things moving on a fairly set schedule so they'll have room for more new stuff.
