Walmart - PS3 3D Display $299.00 (Sold Out Online, Available In-Store)

Having prescription eye glasses and being too poor for contacts/laser eye repair, I'm still kind of on the fence about jumping into the 3D Display world. I tried one of those demo kiosks at Sears and wasn't too impressed for the price.

I'd like one of these for games like Child Eden, but I really don't want to wear 3D glasses over my regular glasses. Thanks for posting, will consider it again if it goes down lower in price.

I saw it at a Walmart the other day. Since Best Buy had it at the same price for a while, it's probably easy enough to find.

A couple of important things to note about this TV. It's an awesome idea, but there are some cons to this TV.

  • The SimulView feature is supported by only 4 games at the moment. Those are Motorstorm Apocalypse, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 3 and Super Stardust 3D. See the link below.
  • The TV doesn't make split screen games suddenly take up a full screen. It only works with SimulView compatible games and they're are not that many of them at the moment.
  • When two people are viewing a compatible game it's not outputting two 3D pictures. It uses the 3D output to simulate two separate non-3D HD full screen images. You're viewing a standard picture through the 3D glasses.
  • There is only 1 sound output. If two people want to view different videos you'll likely have to get wireless headphones or something to output two different sound sources.
  • It only includes 1 set of glasses and you still need to buy a 3D compatible HDMI cable (1.4 or 1.5 forget which one).
  • There is no tuner included. You'll need a cable or satellite box to get TV service.
I think it's an awesome idea that shows where TVs are heading, but this is a first generation product. Sony had continued to drop the price of this TV. In the first month alone it was permanently dropped $100 by Sony. I'd wait to buy.

I've had this TV for about a month now. I only used the 3D the first 2 days I had it. :) I do use the TV almost everyday as I have it as my second monitor for my PC. I have an Xbox 360 and my PS3 hooked up to it. So, I do some console gaming on it.

I think the picture looks great and the 3D works. I'm just not into having to wear the glasses and I don't have any games I really like that are 3D and look good. I tried Assassins Creed Revelations in 3D and thought it looked like ass. The Motorstorm game looks good, but I don't really care for Motorstorm games. I have a couple other games that do 3D I need to try.

I was in the market for a new HDTV around 300 bucks and was really interested in buying this, however I went with this:

http://www.amazon.com/L40FHDF12TA-4...rranty/dp/B004UETB20/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

40 inch TCL 1080P 60 Hz $330 shipped

If anyone is in the same boat as me, was considering a new TV around 300, not interested in the 3D features, and was looking for something bigger, look no further. I'm loving this TV so far. The customer reviews were great as well.

Saw this just yesterday on my local Walmart, had like 10 boxes on display but ultimately abstained from getting one because I remember reading that these have terrible input lag.

That's..impressive. I looked at it expecting TCL to be a horrible budget brand, but it looks like a good price for that tv.
