Changing this to a FAQs for those that need some help getting these deals.

When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

All are PS5:

Forspoken: $10
Far Cry 5: $12.50
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown: $15
The Crew Motorfest [Pro Enhanced]: $15
Lords of the Fallen [Pro Enhanced]: $20

I wonder if crew motorfest is ymmv. I don’t recall it being that price a few days ago when I was traveling. I did buy lords of the fallen a while back during the summer clearance though I returned it since I learned it was a ‘souls like’ game and I knew I’d never play it.

saw club house games switch for $25
picked up a copy of capcom fighting collection switch for $30 since I don't know if the xbox will actually have a physical copy of capcom fighting collection 2 or marvel vs capcom collection

Bought Forspoken and Lego SW Skywalker blah blah for 10 each. Also saw Suicide Squadoosh for 20, Saints Row for 10, saw they moved The Crew Motorfest to the discount section but it still stubbornly rang up at 69 (nice), and saw NFS bondage for 15.

Still striking out on Stray for 15.

Stray PS5 is not an official nationwide clearance like the other titles. I did buy it from best buy as a price match from amazon for $21 a couple weeks ago.

I think it might be. I found it today in my best Wally. They had put up a tag a week ago for it but all stock disappeared then it reappeared today in the discount games section for 15. Yay.

Saw basically all the aforementioned Switch titles today in the Seaford Delaware Walmart for $17 including Persona 5 Tactica (yes, it was Tactica and not Strikers) but PoP Lost Crown was $20. They had a big stack of Super Mario RPG but I didn't check the price.

You guys know you can check price for the store itself by just punching in UPC code of the game on Walmart app right?

Have to be in or close to a Walmart though. I’ve been able to price check parked outside the store pick up car spots to save a walk inside :D

i get this a lot in my day to day life… I refuse to use apps. I work in tech and I know the purpose behind them. Believe me, it isn’t for the consumers convenience.

YMMV but walking into a Walmart is always a ymmv experience and more often than not I wish I had my time back with a multiplier / could live without setting foot in there or minimizing it when possible lol

Yeah but it doesnt show the local in-store price. When I turn on location like it says to do it still doesn't show it.

Really? Does for me when I put in upc at the barcode scan section of the app (instead of taking photo )
Photo? I just know from last time when I scan a game it showed online/nationwide price. Then it also said turn on location for local store prices which I did but it wasnt working. Maybe its because i need WM+ idk I just know it was a waste of time for me when i was in store and I gave up. I can't remember but either it was still showing none local prices or something else. If you are saying I can just type it in at home like we use to on brickseek then I'll give it another shot.

I find the walmart price is mainly accurate on the app when the price tag is a regular price sticker. Even then, the app will say the price in store may be different (I don't have WM+, nor see the point in it). I mainly use the app to price check because an item that may have it's price tag missing or be in the wrong location... but also, the app will show where in the store things are and sometimes there are versions in multiple locations of generic items. I use both the price look up and location features fairly often. This doesn't help much with bargain hunting as the app is mainly only useful to me in price matching walmart.com when walmart is the seller and knowing if a store has more than one copy of a game so it's maybe worth driving to. I use this thread as a way to keep up with when prices might be dropping nationally since all the other YMMV deals are too random and rare to bother with.

As far as not using the app because of security and tracking, if you use a credit or debit card in store... they already built a profile on you for all of your purchases and track you. If you shopped with that card on walmart.com, they link your reciepts to that account already. With AI, cash purchase will be more trackable as well. Still, right now, cash is your main option for keeping purchases mostly private. Personally, if there's anything to warn people about it's debit cards. Like, giving anyone a hand into your actual money to me seems like the biggest security flaw in peoples lives. Not that a store (and it's most stores now) tracked your purchases.

I was able to snag Stray at my local a few days ago. They actually moved them out of the display case and put them with the other electronic clearance stuff on a shelf, which is a first for my local. It was marked $15 but actually rang up for $10 so nice little suprise there. Super Mario RPG was still a no go at fill price though. You win some you lose some I guess 😅

What was the price on SMB Banana Rumble? Image is too grainy to read it.

It's grainy on my end too. I think it says 10 or 15 but def double digits. Surprising to me since thats a relatively new game. When I went looking for it at my local Wally's they were all full price tho, 34.99.

Black Friday sales have started! 🫠

But seriously, these games were moved to the bottom row a few weeks ago but never priced, so I suspected they were moved from the general population for a reason

They also had Jedi Survivor PS4 for $10 newly added to the other PS games most people have already been reporting.
And then in the same PS clearance area but unstickered I saw PS5 Skull & Bones.

Why do I even come into this thread? WMs in my area never have these sorts of wipeout prices. If games were priced like this around here, you'd see them vanish in seconds.

You are not wrong about using a credit or debit card, though I don't believe you understand the repercussion with app usage. Yes, using a card instead of cash can have your purchases tracked. Using an app has you permanently tracked, every move you make, every aisle you walk in, etc. The apps of any company steal your personal info on your device, then sell it to numerous other companies.

Here's an example of what walmart/sams club is doing. Shortly they will have automated security exits to leave a sams club, where you scan your receipts QR code at a gate to leave the exit. What's happening while you were wandering is the sams app is tracking your personal movement pattern in the store, creating 'hot spot' profiles of where people congregate and visit most often. Then when you check out at a self checkout lane, the camera AI is matching your face as well as counting the products you scan. It will know if you scanned 9 out of 10 items. Let's say you made an honest mistake. Now you go to leave through the security checkout and scan your QR code. In an instant, the AI knows you had 10 items on the conveyor belt yet the AI security cam only sees 9 items on the receipt. The exit gate doesnt open and alarm goes off. I'll leave the rest for you to ponder.

As I said, I work in tech, I have a deep understanding of retail and security as well.

This aggressive price-cutting is quite new to my store; it seems to be accelerated since we had a full store remodel from Jun-Aug this year. Most of the time my store didn't get clearance to the same degree as what people post here. We got the $2 clearance titles months after others last year

Guess what, all those cameras don't care at all whether you've opted in on your app or not.

Does anyone ever post the location where they are taking these Walmart pictures?

I kinda don't want to know where those games are on sale because I'd be too tempted on a lot of those prices. I think Super Mario RPG is gonna hit that range most places, I've seen stacks of it in almost every store, seems like Nintendo clearly overestimated demand.

I would love to find a Super Mario RPG at that price. I even pick up the Price of Persia & Cowabunga Collection at those prices.

That walmart with all those $15 games... some great deals there. I'd have snagged a few games there just for my own collection if mine were that good. I'm sure a reseller would feel like they hit the jackpot and clean that place out in one swoop.

I don't let the apps run in the background by turning off background app refresh in the general settings (iphone). I also also keep notifications off on store apps andhave my privacy & security settings locked so only what needs access gets it and only the amount needed. I don't walk around walmart with the app open, I just open it when needed and then force close it when done. ... spoilering the rest just because of the weeds we are getting in...
Thankfully security on this stuff and what is shared and isn't and how you opt in is pretty secure on apple devices and it seems to be getting better. Like how you opt in to share an image or even use the camera in apps, you don't have to share everything just to post a picture. I don't have anything apple except my phone and ipad... and plan to just keep on sticking with apple and staying abreast of what is going on.

I'm not too worried about checking out and scanning reciepts or any of that. Especially where I live. They have tried a few things over the past few years and all of them have failed. Like the gates to get in the store, here and gone. It's not a high crime area, but the one store that I know is (which is in another city), they kept the in gates. The tower for picking up online orders, gone. The AI in the cameras watching self checkout? That's here and I think it's getting better. Knowing how it works and what sets it off makes it easier not to end up hassled by it. I've figured out most of the ways it's triggered and indeed it has caught it when I thought I scanned something but it didn't go through. I still always have the register print my reciept and I don't mind dealing with a door greeter for things too big to fit in a bag (I purposefully scan those items first or last so it's less hassle). That said, I don't shop at Sams as it's not in my city. Just Walmart. So the need to get stopped and checked on the way out is fairly uncommon. Most larger items I buy regularly I can bag except for dog & cat food. Even the large marketside pizza's, I have a larger bag that fits them. Yes, I bring my own bags. I don't need hundreds of walmart bags nor the hassle of recycling the excess.

If I ever feel like things are getting too out of hand and I want to dial back security even more, I'll power my phone off. Once I retire, I'll have the option of downgrading to something that isn't a smart phone. Though, I make so much use out of my iphone, I don't forsee doing that. Maps and the traffic info (like "speed check reported ahead" or the notes about road construction or slower traffic so maybe I need to plan an alternate route if I don't want to sit in traffic) are far too handy.

Wow, some pretty hot deals in there! Sadly, I haven't been able to reproduce in my area most of the deals reported here lately. I've only been to 2 stores though, may try some other locations.

I saw :switch: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (Switch) and :switch: TMNT: Wrath of the Mutants (Switch) for $15 each, and :switch: Monster Hunter Stories Collection (Switch) for $30, but the rest didn't pan out

Apparently the Walmart delivery driver decided to steal my $30 Silent Hill 2 today :poop:
Probably got misdelivered. I went to pick up my order and I saw them loading up a DoorDash or whatever driver they use. They stuffed the contents of an overflowing cart of packages into that car every which way. I seriously had no idea how the fucking driver would find the right package for each address. There really seemed to be no rhyme or reason to how they placed things in the car.

And store pickup sucked. Had to wait over 15 minutes because of all the time they were fucking around with that driver‘s car.

I’ve had pretty good luck until the last week or two. First one was from Target, (I think they use Shipt?) completely mis-delivered. The picture they took didn’t even look close to my front door. Thankfully after a pretty brief call Target shipped a replacement.

Then a couple days ago I had a Roadie delivery from Best Buy (box of 4 PS5 games). I got the notification they had arrived so I pulled up my Ring camera (I wasn’t home at the time) and I see the delivery driver set the box down, take a picture, take a couple steps back, then immediately go to pick up the box again. I popped onto the Ring speaker and asked him why he’s taking the item again and he stammered out some excuse about having trouble scanning the item. He fumbles with it a couple more minutes, finally sets the item back down and leaves. Like seriously, I saw you line up to take the delivery picture, and sure enough the delivery picture I got sent matched the location he originally set it.

Snagged a copy of Lies of P for PS5 for $20 tonight, seemed like a solid deal.

They also had the pokemon scarlet and violet double pack, but it was $90 so I left that for some other lucky person

I ordered a copy of Switch Sports for $30 last night 11-25 (it's for my wife and I, don't judge!), but when I went to pick it up tonight 11-26, they told me they were backed up and that it hadn't been fulfilled yet.

The Walmart pickup manager assured me it'd be ready by tomorrow, but when I got home I realized my store said that it was now "sold out".

Even though I ordered a copy when they had them in stock, am I screwed or is it possible that there's a copy in that store with my name on it?

(I have two stores nearby that have them, but both say "two" copies left. Smh)

Thanks in advance to anyone in the know!
