Changing this to a FAQs for those that need some help getting these deals.

When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

I don't recall who it was but if you want to incriminate yourself by all means do so. People like you are just salty crybabies because you get beat to the punch by others. That simple really. You snooze you lose. If you can't or don't want to put forth the effort to get there before something sells out then too effin bad. C'est la vie. It's also another false assumption that people may only sell some stuff because they aren't financially stable. Judging from the tone of people such as yourself you would think they would be financially well-off enough for this not to be any skin off of their teeth. Anyway people like you are sanctimonious with how presumptuous and judgmental you are of others, as if your interpretation or perception of the situation is the only one that can possibly be truth. And that's why, in your own words, you are worthless scumbags. If there is one thing we agree on though it's that your approval is certainly not needed.
I’m not salty, nor a crybaby. Hell, I don’t even own a 3DS. I personally think it’s crappy to buy 4-5 copies of a clearance game that won’t be restocked to make 8-10 bucks a game rather than giving other people a chance to buy them. And if you leave them and the next guy buys them all he’s crappy too.

Just my personal opinion.

Managed to snag a 4 TB Seagate Expansion desktop drive for $47.  Not the best drive, but I need something for archiving videos and files I won't be too broken up if I lose them.

Hmm streets of rage 4 switch doesn't turn up on walmarts website or any searches on brick seek. But I know for a fact that my local store had at least 1 or 2 in the case. How would I figure out what the price is?

use the walmart app and scan the upc on brickseek to see what your in store price is

Imagine getting worked up over someone buying too many copies of Yo Kai Watch 2, won't somebody please think of the other people who really wanted Yo Kai Watch 2!? Only walmart is allowed to buy too many copies of Yo Kai Watch 2!

no one wanted Yo Kai Watch 2 that's why there's so many on clearance

Went to a Walmart I normally never visit. Literally in the case there there is every 3DS game that is on clearance right now. I double checked the app and it seems like the ones that are showing up are mostly $10.

I go to ask to get the games from the case and they say oh wait that's the case that's broken. Apparently they managed to somehow break a ring lock. More importantly apparently none of the people working at that Walmart understand how to clear a ring lock. They're literally going to wait for a locksmith to come next week. So there's just stacks of 3DS games there that I have always wanted to play but never had a chance to buy at a discount like mask of majora.

So yes I can verify there are a lot of discounted 3DS games. I can't buy any.

Went to a few local Walmarts. Seems like most 3DS games are marked down as reported, but one store had some at $25-32.xx: FE Awakening, Young Justice, and Yokai 2 (not sure which one). This store had the $9.88 games marked, except for Ultra Moon, which still said $32.84, but rang up at $9.88.

Damn, Wish I could find FE Awakening in my state

Was able to pickup Oddworld Stranger's Wrath HD for $10, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for $5.

Couldn't get the Devil May 5 on the PS4 to ring out on the clearance sticker.

Got sandbagged at self checkout trying to get some 3 cent games. I had a manager follow me over and she watched me scan each one, only to take them from me and say I wasn't allowed to have them at those prices. I have sword art online, my heros one justice 2, and captain tsubasa. They refused to give me an explanation so it is what it is. For what it's worth, the last two times I successfully got a few 3 cent games, it was through the regular checkout and I got employees who were wowed by it and didn't care. Just seems to be luck of the draw.

Ask them to put them in the clear cases so you can continue shopping. Go to Toys or something and hang out for 5-10 minutes if you are worried some Walmart detective is going to follow you.

got tsubasa and sword art
checked out for 3 cents just fine

employee rang me out

Just to be clear, they were in the clear cases and an employee would've needed to take them out anyway. I just wasn't expecting the woman to be peeking over my shoulder and the moment I scanned a few she was like Nope! But there's a redemption arc. I went to a different walmart and grabbed 7 3ds games at the $9.88 price point. So all in all, a successful day despite the minor annoyance at the first store. Best of luck to everybody else out there. I do love CAG retweeting everybody's success stories.

I was in a store today and was rung up in electronics. One of the games was 3 cents that I didn't even realize was. Lady just took it away, didn't explain anything. I asked what's wrong, she said, she can't sell it to me. Ask why, she just said she can't.

I know why they can't sell it, but just telling a customer you can't sell something to them isn't the best way to go about denying a sale. Any other customer would assume you are picking them out or discriminating specifically them. Still, I got my other items though no problem.

Didn't go elhoardo on everything since I didnt want to raise any suspicion to have them deny the 3 games Im planning to keep. But they still got maybe 2-3 Tsubasa and 3 Megaman Zero (PS4) left on the shelves

Went to my walmart and the entire ps4 section is gone, all the 3ds games gone, only a glass case for accessories for the switch, another one for the switch games themselves and one for xbox one stuff. And they were all new glass cases that are more like targets where they are super short.  I did find a huge fan for 14.95 and a cuisine art knife set for 1 cent. So not a total loss.

Shot down on the 3 cent games but I got Bowser’s Inside Story (been watching that one for months) and Ultra Moon for $10 each so I count it as a win. Thanks everyone!

Oh, great. Now Walmart seems to be remodeling like Target. I've noticed that all the movie bins, too, are gone at stores around mine. Online is going to soon be the only way to buy most physical media items.

a walmart i went to is moving everything around. they had remodeled a few years ago to add groceries. not sure what they're doing now. they got rid of most of the cashiers and switched most of the check out area to self check out but half of it wasn't up and running yet. the video games are all in a new area as well as the toys. a quarter of the store is torn up.

Went to a far off Wal-Mart about 60 miles from me (5 miles from an outlet mall), found Ultra Moon and Mx vs ATV, Mega Man Zero and the biggest loser for the ds for a dollar.

Nah. My plan was to go the outlet mall and then a regular mall. The Wal-Mart was 3rd on the list. I'll stop in a Wal-Mart in area around someplace else I'm going

Went to a Walmart a few days ago. Found two xbox games (I don't remember the names anymore, I think The Surge 2 was one of them) that rang up 3 cents. She scans them and just says she can't sell them to me without even bothering to give me an explanation. I know why, but Imagine if someone that wasn't as reasonable was trying to buy them and she just denies them the sale. They'd be pissed. It's also the only store moderately close to me that has a random copy of Deadly Premonition 2 for the switch for $39.99.

Was this in md? Just left a store where 2 out of the 3 nintendo cabinets have broken locks. Also was denied Tsubasa for 3 cents lol

Is there a reason that Wally marks them down to show 3 cents rather than zeroing them out of the system like Target does?
target is great since they will usually look up the last clearance price and sell it to you for that price

saw the trine collection for switch and it shows 3 cents on brickseek. not sure if it's a recent drop or an old one. Didn't bother trying to buy it since it was the same store that denied tsubasa.

That's from the last drop.

I went ahead and updated the new $0.03 game list here with the new finds over the last couple of days. I also noticed that Brickseek has a warning now that will tell you whether or not a game is "restricted" and unlikely to be sold. Please see screenshots below:

Just an assumption but I think Walmart is currently updating their systems with how they are processing these pennied out items (which isn't just videogames but all categories in their stores). In the meantime, they likely turned off the register block for these items, something that is brand new for them since you could buy these items for years. We should assume it'll be blocked again very soon while they figure out the best way to go about these pennied items.

I'm running into stores that have items but show as "out of stock" in brickseek.  I think some have said that stores will continue to reduce prices on items even if showing out of stock, but there are some things that have been clearanced months ago and are still MSRP.  Is it safe to assume these items will go from full MSRP straight to pennied out some day?

It varies from store to store. Some drop to 10 or less from 29.99-49.99 quick others sit in perpetuity until it sells out to someone willing to pay msrp.

Many thanks to those who've shared 3DS game deals, my family was able to obtain a few of the games from our respective local Walmarts! = )

As a general FYI, Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo has been available for shipping at the $9.88 price on Walmart.com (sold by Walmart, not third-party) in case people were interested in that game but haven't found it at their stores.

While it sucks they dont do manager markdowns anymore, one benefit to my store not having an electronics mgr was they didn't care about the 3c games so i picked up Captain Tsubasa & Darksiders Genesis for Switch and Zombie Army 4 for PS4.
