When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

As far as Walmart goes it works for the price, but not for stock numbers. For what it's worth I was not able to replicate anything that that guy posted from his store, so it may be a super isolated thing.
damn I've been out of the game too long. Just came back and find out brickseek is only half working.

Agreed. The one I go to regularly had games on sale or clearance and now since COVID, nothing.

? Brickseek showing neighborhood market stores. They dont sale games that I know of. Anyways as said before I have 5 super center Wal-Mart's to go to. One had those nationwide clearance back in 2021 and another started having the yellow tags on games last year's. You can always ask someone that works in that area. As well as always check carefully, I had a walmart 36miles away that had scarlet nexus with a yellow in the clearance section then later moved to the games section. Also the stores labeling be all over the place for any products. Then theres brickseek which isnt reliable for local but only for the nation wide clearance which is ultra rare for games. Like I know cyberpunk is $11 at one of my Wal-Mart's for like year now but brickseek doesn't even show it so us showing what we got or seen is pointless for others on here when it comes to yellow tags.

Someone being there and someone actually helping are 2 different things.
your right, they were actually helping people from what I hear. I went to one looking for the nioh collection and DMC5 the other year. Guy scanned my barcode on my phone and seen they suppose to had some. He looked through everything at the counter, looked through boxes that came from other Wal-Mart's clearances and even checked the back. Got the other guy to check as well then the 3rd guy said he would even call me to let me know of it showed up. 3rd guy also told me that one guy might be knowing about the non yellow tags clearance and reselling the games but wasnt sure but wasnt that ok with what he was doing.

If my experiences are any indication then what you have there is rare situation and a bit of a unicorn. A lot of associates are either unhelpful or outright dismissive, and of those who weren't I've never seen any go through that kind of effort.

Also, you speaking of there being 3 people in the department is just unfathomable to me. That never happens anywhere around here. It's not uncommon for there to be no one in electronics.... or maybe there is one person for the entire department and they may also be manning the photo service desk or whatever at the same time as well. And when that happens forget about asking for help......

I live in Chicagoland, Most of the WM's around me (except fucking South Holland/Lansing) has someone in electronics to do something before 7:30- 8pm. After that tons of problems.

The Walmart near me has a dude who openly smokes crack in the bathroom like I've seen him do it.

So it's uh hit or miss if he's working or not and apparently he's supposedly the only one with the key. Can't even buy games after he leaves for the day since he has the key.

Honestly on the hidden clearance I had a guy let me rifle through all the games in the cages behind the counter and he price scanned the 6-7 I picked out. They weren't super busy so that probably explains half of it.

At a store on my way to work the electronics team is "just getting in" if I stop by, there is one guy in his 30's who is pretty helpful, he went in the back and dug for death stranding for 2$ for me. He seems pretty unamused by me, but he's atleast willing to do a bit more then the bare minimum for me when asked.

I feel if you become chatty/cool with the folks they might help you out. Seen plenty of times with my friends they cool with people a fast food joint they add extra or whatever they'll hit you up nicely.

Was surprised to see Series X Wild Hearts amongst the clearance games, but it was. $30.00 Other items were XB Tony Hawk $10, Switch Monster Hunter Stories 2 $15, and PS5 Tales to Arise $10.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like a Walmart thing.....

All Walmarts should have a magical crack troll who requires a solved riddle to get them to open the case for you, I need more whimsy in my life

Having worked at a walmart decades ago the rule at least for my store was if no one is working electronics then the key is to be kept in the photo department desk.  But then you need a key to get in there if its locked which usually the csm had.

i dont think walmarts have photo departments any more. at least the ones near me don't. it is just 3 or 4 of those self printing kiosks near the laptop prison they built behind the electronics checkout/cell phone service desk.

The closest one a county or two away does for mine despite the remodeling to a super center but it's probably the exception. The photo department is adjacent to the electronics department at mine and is where they have cameras, accessories for those, computers, phones and such in-between the two. While tvs, games and such are on the other side of the electronics. Then directly in front of electronics is the fabric and arts & crafts department.

My area is very remote though with lots of farms and Amish and such so there's that. It's the only Walmart for 20 minutes in every direction basically and there are no best buys, and other stores besides a target. We do somehow have 4 or 5 Starbucks though. 2 in the same parking lot where I work.

Wish I could find Mon Hun Stories 2 for 15$ been bone dry for clearance lately.
Same story here, there's been nothing noteworthy lately. And likewise on MHS 2 as well -- it's showing as $29.83 everywhere around me.

I thought walmart doesn't honor the 3cent. Even brickseek has something like that as a warning on the page.
Some items can slip through the cracks sometimes. Assuming it's not in a locked display case you can take it through self-checkout and as long as the item isn't blocked in the system it may be possible to purchase. It's highly YMMV what will or won't be blocked though.

Went to see if they had the printer but they were sold out. They did have another model that was 49$ but I passed. I did however find a shop vacuum for 19$, a large igloo cooler for 21.88 so it wasn't a complete waste.

Good luck, I have 5 Wal-Mart's alround only 1 showed up on the app and it was still $600+.
Good luck is indeed needed. Both stores near me show $69. I’m taking it with a grain of YMMV salt though. One store nearby closed on the 10th and it was grayed out with price of $500. Makes me wonder if BS is made aware of store closings.

I tried for the TV at a nearby store and no dice. Gonna try at the other location shown tomorrow.
I couldn't resist the allure of getting a $700 TV for $70, so I checked and struck out. I got super excited for a second when I saw a 65" Samsung tucked behind some other TVs with an -8000 on the model number, but it was the AU8000 and not the TU8000.

My local store closed on the 10th as well. Plainfield, IL. I have an store near me with that Laptop, but don't know if it worth $250 or not.

This is funny….. that rog strix laptop is showing as $999 everywhere. Yet I found one store hundreds of miles from me showing it as 99% off for $15.
