I'm trying to feel out a deal for someone looking to move from a PS3 to a 360.

I've got a perfectly working, one user, well kept 360 Premium console that I want to offer up. It comes in the original box, all of the original cables and controller.

I also have another wireless controller, a VGA cable, Plug and charge kit, and the following games:

-Viva Pinata
-The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
-Kameo

The premium system (not the games or the extra controller) will also be covered under a two year warranty by MicroCenter that will be transferred to the trader. This will become active AFTER the Microsoft three year standard warranty on 360 systems, giving you four years, since I bought this in November of last year. From the information I have received on the warranty brouchure that accompanied my purchase,

"3. Limit of Liability. Maximum liability under this Contract shall be the cost of one (1) replacement with a Product of equal value or two (2) reimbursement ofthe retail price paid for the products minus sales tax. This Contract provides for only the one-time replacement of the Product via a Micro Center gift card. This Contract will expire at the time of this replacement or reimbursement for replacement or term expiration."

I have been a sucker for extended warranties since I owned a Sony Clie PDA back around 2001. The reason is, you get all of your money back when the warranty is active. The switch on my PDA stopped working at one point. I got a full credit for that PDA at Best Buy (where I purchased it along with the plan). What did I do, I upgraded to a cooler one. I actually did this one more time.

So anyways, I'm interested in trade talks with someone who is serious and we can both assure each other through proof that we are the owners of this stuff and we're both happy with the arangement. I am sorry I have no previous trade experience here on this forum. I am a ebay user (bpguitar187 is my ebay name) with a feedback of 28, 100% positive feedback. I'm willing to put some cash towards my end as well, within reason. Please msg me if you're interested and I will try to get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. Thanks and take care.

Uh, just so you know, the warranty on a 360 isn't three years, it's one year. RRoD issues are handled by a separate 3-year warranty. MicroCenter sold the system with one year of warranty from MS, so their one year warranty extension makes it two, not four.

So what you're saying is that if there is a RRoD issue, then the warranty is three years, if not is is two years.

According to the statement here, there is no separate warranty, but the terms applied are different dependent upon what the determined source of the problem might be, should there ever be a problem.

I talked with MicroCenter two days ago about the terms of this warranty to make sure I understood their terms. They told me that they would be honoring the purchased warranty after the end of the manufacturer's warranty. If the manufacturer's warranty now covers a RRoD, then it would in fact be four years remaining if the issue that was encountered was a RRoD.

I am contacting Micro Center now for an official response so that I can hold them to a certain word. Thanks for your clarification.

Microsoft only warranties the system against Ring of Death for three years because there is a manufacturing defect in all 360 systems sold up until they released the "Falcon" models.

If something like the DVD drive breaks or if the USB Ports stop working, that falls under Microsoft's normal 1 year warranty, and Micro Center's 2 year warranty. You may be able to claim, and this is a maybe, a repair/replacement 4 years down the road for a Ring of Death issue but I doubt anything else.

Right, that is what I understood. I will be sure to post the response from Micro Center when I hear back from their department. They were off on Sunday. Thanks, :)
