The idea occurred to me that there is no way for CAG's to meet up and chat, that has changed! There aren't many people that use it right now so tell your friends! I know I have made 2 other threads about these, but this is the final thread so if you want to support the chat and wan't it to be used please post on this one. Also to all the moderators reading this, please sticky this thread so that more people will use the chat, if you contact me I will make you mods on the chat.

This is how you connect to the IRC chat.

Code: 
1) Go to [URL="http://lightirc.com/download.html"]the LightIRC download page and download the client.[/URL]
2) Open up "index.html". 
3) Type /join CheapAssGamer

And you should be in..

The other way of doing this is:
1) Download any random IRC client.
2) Type /server irc.lightirc.com
3) Type /join CheapAssGamer

should get you there..

@Important CAG'ers. If you are interested in the IRC chat and want something to do with it, contact me. Also, if you decided to make your own IRC channel for CAG then that's fine by me, but I don't see much point. The server that I made this one on is fast&stable, plus I can give people the exact same power level that I do.
 
Thanks Shrike. I know for a fact that there are a few other CAG's that think it is a good idea and I am sure from what I saw in the live stream that more people would get involved if they knew about it.

I don't think Cheapy would have a problem with it would be? If he wants it taken down then I would be (kinda) happy to, but I think it would be a good thing for him as well (if he occasionally came on to talk to the average CAG).

Feel free to lock or delete the old threads regarding the IRC. This is the only thread that needs to be up.

It takes under 50 seconds to start from scratch and connect to the chat (no installation required). In the live stream there were over 80 people on that chat box and that was over an hour before the stream had even started..

Chat boxes are very very different from the forums, it's basically instant message.

And people would quite possibly use a chat box on the forums more than something separate, but there isn't one on the forums so.. what can I do about that?
 
So I wonder how many Cheapy clones would pop up on this chat. Every time that CAG has gone down for maintenance and we're directed to that one chat site there's usually about 20 Cheapy names and the rest are just random user names and most of the folks who make the Cheapy clones or have the random names tend to act like asses for the most part.
 
If Cheapy ever goes on the chat he will be given operator status. If they don't have operator status then they aren't Cheapy.
 
It would be easier if you could just click something and chat; people are lazy they don't want to have to follow instructions no matter how simple.
 
@IAmTheCheapestGamer The Cheap imitators was a valid concern.. But I don't think it would really be an issue.

On the no-download thing, there are alternative chat boxes out there.. I originally created a thread asking if people thought it would be a good idea and I got a positive response so I went ahead and did it.. but if you want a no-download chat then http://xat.com/CheapAssgamer that would work out perfectly. Also with the xat chat box, if Cheapy wanted anything to do with it he can spend 30 seconds making an account so there is no way that it could be anybody else but him.
