I just bought a PSOne, but don't know a whole lot about what the system has to offer as far as must-have games go. I am already planning on picking up FFVII (time to see what all the damn hype is about), FFVIII and FFIX. I also want Final Fantasy Tactics and Xenogears. What else is there, and does anyone have anything fopr trade that they recommend? I have PayPal $$$ but not much to trade atm. I don't care if it is players choice (or whatever the Sony equivelant is called) so long as it's mint. TIA.

Lunar 1 and 2
Silent Hill
Vagrant Story
Valkyrie Profile
Suikoden 1 and 2
Metal Gear Solid
Arc the Lad collection

Other games:

Einhander--best shmup, on the PS1!!!
Elemental Gearbolt--best gun game, EVER!!!!
Silent Hill--gotta start somewhere, its real eerie.
Megaman 8,X4,X5,X6--they're ok,...better than X7.
Brave Fencer Musashi--my wife loved this one.
Resident Evil 1,2,3--the originals, nothing more.
Spyro the Dragon 1,2--solid, very fun, platformers!
Vandal Hearts--its not too bad,..RPG.
Gran Turismo 1,2--for its time, the best on the PS1!
Point Blank 1,2,3--gun fun, for all.
Devil Dice--a pretty fun game, very addictive, and $
Intelligent Cube--just $$, too hard for me.

You're choices, above, such as; Xenogears, Final Fantasy 7, 9, and Tactics, are nobrainers. I personally don't care for 8.

FF8 is good, and even great, in some aspects, but all in all, I just didn't feel the magic.
FF9, quickly remedied that, though.

There are a ton of other great games, but those are some of my favorites.

Games not mentioned, that I didn't mention, you are better off getting better versions of.
Like Darkstalkers, Street Fighters, Maddens, and all of the other next-gen systems' releases.

How I wish Samurai Shodown 3,4 were as good as on the MVS. Or, Vampire Chronicles, on the Dreamcast.

Well, good luck finding them. Some are really rare, and a lot are $$.

I have an extra Castlevania Chronicles, Spyro 1, Resident Evil DC, and some other less appealing titles, if your interested.

See ya.

Suikoden is definitely $$, but it is a niche game.
I guess Saga, and Mana are too, though.

PaRappa,...how could I miss that one?? Great game.

Anthology, and Origins, are not terrible! The loading is horrid, but it doesn't ruin the game.
Also, how else will you enjoy them, when cartridges' batteries, die? You'd also have to own a SNES, and a SFami, to play the games, if bought separately.

Pop your PS1 games, into your PS2, and speed up the load times. Ocasionally, it will not work, and sometimes, it uncompresses CG video, to all hell, but who cares?
At least you can play these awesome games, on one system. The discs last forever, almost, if taken care of, and you can save to a memory card.
Not to mention, they are GHs, now, and cost $15, at most retailers, and cheaper online.

Get 'em,..they're worth every penny.

Oh, and I forgot, JUMPING FLASH.

Hopefully, one day, this game will return to the US.

It is a really cool game, with a most original theme.

> Final Fantasy Origins-- includes chrono trigger
(no, you're thinking of chronicles. Chronicles, Chrono, see?)

> Saga Frontier 2
I would not recommend this. Most people hated the game. Gotta be better than unlimited SaGa, though.

> Arc the Lad Collection
> Lunar
> Lunar 2
Got them all, I think they're overrated (at least the lunars - great story, not that much of a game, should have been anime instead)
> Legend of Mana
oops, forgot this. sorry.

> Klonoa
if only I could find that for a reasonable price

> Point Blank 1,2,3--gun fun, for all.
I stay away from gun games - they don't even work well on all TVs, but that's just me.

hey was elemental gearbolt really that good? I found it at my grocery store bargain bin then sold it to gamecrazy which I'm thinking I shouldn't have done now.

It was a decent gun game whith which you could use the guncon The graphics were good and gave you a choice of 3 different weapons, but it was really hard and became one of those games where you need to play it over and over to memorize where stuff is to be good at it.

I have some brand new sealed PS games. Check my list and see if anything strikes your intrest.

Also....

I have mega man legends, x4, and 8 all brand new sealed. I'll sell you all three for 22.50 if your intrested.

YES,...Elemental Gearbolt is amazing, for the PS1.

The story is phenomenal, and done in an anime style, reminiscent of some darker stuff.

It kind of reminds me of Star Wars, but I don't know why.

The music is superb, and the replay value, is unmatched.

If you can find it, you won't be reselling it, unless you don't like gun games. As a matter of fact, I have an extra sealed copy, but I will never sell it, as it is THAT good.

As for the difficulty, it is not hard, unless you suck. Or, if you set it to hard. It is also 2 player, which makes for some unique stuff.

This game has been overlooked, and could very well be, the best overlooked game of the 90s, except for Panzer Dragoon Saga.

As for FF Origins,....you're right, I have that, and Chronicles, but for some reason, going off of strictly memory,...I thought I was wrong. Only because of Castlevania Chronicles, I remember telling myself stuff, and then I forgot.

Oh well. They're all good games, with crappy loading time. Times, that do not hinder the gameplay. Just the overall experience, in comparison to the original. Which were carts, with no load times.
WHOOOPEEE!

Every game that I mention, is fabulous, in its own way. They reflect what I enjoy, and are solely listed, to give you a fair shake, at owning a decent collection.

Saga 2, ...IS...very different, but has its own magic to it. It is the most beautiful game, on the PS1, without a doubt. The music rules, as does the story.

Lunar 1+2, are kiddy. They are also done well. Take hours to beat, and are hilariously funny. Girls love these games, because they are all around GOOD. If a girl can sit through 40+ hours of a RPG, I think theres something there. Plus, I love them.
....too bad someone stole my cloth map, from part 1

I'd get Final Fantasy Chronicles, especially if you haven't played Chrono Cross before. Tough to ifnd cheap on the SNES now, the PS version is fine.
