So I got a suikoden which i was told was complete and in good shape. I got it, and it was in great shape, and I was pretty happy. So I'm talking about it with someone and they mention the double case. WEll, uh, mine is in a single case. It turns out it's the back insert, game, and the manula doubling as a cover. It's looks complete LOL. I told the person i got it from and they were also shocked that it wasn't complete.

Anyways, they agreed to reimburse me for the front insert and.or case. So hopefully someone can hook me up for pretty cheap - although I don't imagine there's too many of them floating around.

Your suikoden is a complete one, The double cd case is the orginal and the single cd case is the reprint verison. I have both version the single one is still sealed.

I didn't know there was a reprint - so the black instruction book is the cover? I looked on ebay and couldn't find one picture of a single case one.
I thought the game was only one disc? Why did they release it in a double case?
Almost all RPG's for ps1 are released in double case even if there is only one disc, like Legend of Legaia, Saiyuki and Persona. I didn't know they rereleased Suikoden with a singular case.

Yes for the reprint version. For the orginal its just an insert. Just check the back insert to see if it has a black label. ( Its the black print on the left side of the front cd case.) I know this because I also have the single one and the orginal double cd case if it doesn't have the black binding than it isn't complete. The person probaly took the back insert out and put it back in a regualr cd case if he did this there would be japanse word where the black label should be at.

There was a limited reprint version but that was a long time ago. Just Look at the front insert of the doulbe cd case and you can see why a reprint was made.

Wow that's kind of a waste, wouldn't you think?

I actually thought the reason they used double cases was because the manual is thicker than regular manuals that fit inside the first cover.

on the left side of the case where the ps1 black stuff is, is there black stuff or is it all part of the picture from the back insert?

I assume you are talking about the cover? Well, the whole front is black and it says playstation and has the ps logo at the top and the rating at the bottom. The whole cover is black so you can't see the "bar". It says suikoden at the top and the picture is a blue circle with a bunch of people inside. I'll try and take a pic.

no. the back insert in the cd case.

you see the black part to the left of playstation ion the left side that looks to have black ridges printed on the back insert? are they the black ridges or is it just a continuation of the art on the back insert

i hope that makes sence lol
Oh, it's the art of the back insert. It has red japanese characters

then you have a double case suikoden in a single case.
