Warhawk - The GAF Challenge

Ladies and Gentlemen,

the fine GAF Clan would like to propose a friendly match.
We can promise a 6v6 server, maybe even 8v8. Cycling CTF/Zones.
Playing on a CAG hosted server would be acceptable too.

Possible schedules:
SAT/SUN, 20:00/8PM-GMT, 21:00/9PM-CET, 15:00/3PM-EST, 12:00/noon-PST8PDT

We'll be monitoring your communication with great interest and would be happy to see you all on the battlefield.
 
I am the CAG Warhawk leader and I would gladly like to have a match with GAF (especially since I use to be a member there and I'm very familiar with many of its members). I'll look into the various times and decide with the group what the best time is.

Well, the server I host for CAG can hold up to 20 people, meaning 10 vs. 10. However, my last possible day of hosting a server is Saturday, 1/5, since I go back to college (away from my awesome Verizon FiOS connection).

If you or someone else want to talk to the CAG Clan head, I'm the one to message/talk to.

To be fair to myself and my fellow SC players, those guys were fucking annoying. Like, "Why am I playing with you, again?" annoying.

IMO, I'm going to see if there's any forum the majority of clan members meet-up to form clan games, because if there is, I'd make sure I'm apart of it so the CAG Clan can play against other forums.

This is the really cool... but I'm not sure I can manage 3pm Saturday (3pm EST?).

I agree that we should have our 10 best show up, as long as they can commit. SB definitely qualifies, and has my vote. :)

Anyone know if there is a spectate option, like in TF2? That would be cool for those that want to watch.

Well I wouldn't play during the Steelers game Sat, but I haven't really played this game enough to know how skilled I am. I just got the game in time for the last CAG match. If there are more experienced players that are more skilled than me, then they should take the spots anyway.

That's why I'm looking into the Clan to see who I can depend on showing up.

There is a small chance I might have to push a game until next week (because this weekend may not even be a good weekend for me to attend, due to certain things). If that's the case, I will absolutely make sure everyone is prepared the next week.

Hey ChryZ, if the other forum who accepted a challenge wants the Saturday slot for this weekend, go ahead and let them have it, because I'm okay with waiting until the next week (although I wouldn't host a server).

This shouldn't be work nor cause any stress.

In case it's going to work out eventually, then it shouldn't be a problem to arrange a rematch or two.
 
Well, I'm definitely think CAG is ready for a clan match against GAF. I just need to know the server name (I cannot host this weekend), how many people can we have show up, and the day/time. I'll be sure the word gets out when GAF comes to a decision.

We tried to play with B3D last weekend and it was a mess. They only showed up with 3-4 people and we never managed to have proper clan match, because they were not able to fill their team.

So with CAG we'll first try to have a clan match, in any case of imbalance (skills, number of player, lack of tuna cans) we'll switch to a mixed team server and just play together.

We need the full CAG clan name, not just the tag (e.g. not just [CAG]). Our tag is [GAF] the full clan name is "GAF U". Those details are important for the setup of a clan server.

Server should be unranked, friendly fire 100%, include the default maps (we can add Omega Dawn on request, in case you Cheap Asses bought them ;P), Zones limit 5000, rotation of TDM/CTF/Zones.

Server name will be updated in this thread at the moment of the event.

All this is just for shits and giggles ... this is NOT serious business.

I'll stay home on Saturday and join in, so count me as part of the match. I've been obsessively addicted to Warhawk this past week.

Yeah, the more CAGs the merrier. GAF shouldn't have trouble to match what you guys bring to the table, we might even manage to do okay with a few people short on our end ;)

What is the hosting capability/availability of CAG? Backups/fallbacks are always nice to have.

Server name will be !gafvscag, no password since we're going for a clan server and only tags from CAG and GAF will be able to access it.

I'll update this thread in case of changes (before and during the games).

What to expect? Not much. With B3D, we had to adjust the server a few times to compensate the lack of players on their end. Adjusting the server settings usually results in kicking anyone, Just be patient, check this thread or just wait 1-2 min and search/join !gafvscag again.
 
Thanks for the info. We'll look into joining the game for sure. :) I'm definitely try very hard to get a full game together (I'll tell a few more about this), so we will fill the server. ;)
 
You guys better win. For CAG and/or Adun and/or Tassadar and/or Aiur and/or the Empire and/or vengeance and/or honour and/or the swarm!

Yeah, I'm gonna follow Chryz's lead and name it !gafvscag.

It will be a Player Clan server to begin with. In case of any recurring network errors, I will put up a Dedicated Clan server, but the name will remain the same.

I'll put it up around 10-15 minutes before the scheduled meetup time, so be there in time.

You guys were excellent sports for keeping up the fight. It was pretty unfortunate that all four of our WarHawk specialists showed up. They kinda run the show and there is really not much you can do about it. Check out their stats and you know what I'm talking about. A few mixed matches would have been nice.

Props to The Mana Knight, you did an awesome job organizing your team.

Hope to see you all again, you know where to find us in case you guys want a rematch :)
