hello, i'm in the market to get a 360 and i'm just curious about the warranty:
1. do the new 360s still come with an offer in the box for a 2yr extended warranty from MS, and if so how much is it?
2. how much is the 2yr warranty from bestbuy and does it cover an exchange in the store if the system breaks or would i have to sent it in?
3. i heard that the toysrus warranty is most expensive and it doesn't cover an exchange, you would have to send it in to MS through toysrus to get it fixed, is that so?

-thanks for any help

When I bought my 360 on launch, there was a 2 year warranty inside from MS. It only cost $50 and if you have problems they will attempt to fix and send out a replacement (refurbed) system. When I sent in my system, they sent out a replacement as well as increased the warranty until 2008. Not sure if thats common practice at MS.

The 360 I just sent back to Overstock(freeze on arrival) came with a warranty slip from MS. I believe it was 60 for 2 years or something like that. Was a bit cryptic though.

My recommendation would be to get whichever warranty lets you swap for a new one, or at least pays for shipping.

MS forces you to pay for shipping. I don't know how it is now, but I loved EBgames warranty that lets you swap it out with no questions asked.

Not sure how it is now, but I know BB's warrantys used to be really bad.
