Today I happened across a PO copy of REZ at my local Gamestop. It looked brand new, save for the original sticker that sealed the case which was missing. It was flawless. So as I am purchasing it, I ask if they could shrink wrap it for me. Sure enough, she took it in the backroom and sealed it up for me. So now I have a "Brand New" copy of REZ.

Was that wrong? I don't intend on selling it (I'm sure when I die, my kids will) and I intend to play it someday, but there's just something about having a new shrink wrapped copy of a relatively rare game that is cool, IMO.

And now I am getting paranoid that when she took it in the back to replace it, she swapped it out with a copy of Pryzm: The Last Unicorn!! Serves me right!
 
If you're resealing it for yourself and you plan to play it in the future, then it's just really pointless, not morally wrong. The only person you're "deceiving" is yourself.

yeah I think it's weird too but not wrong or anything. The GS seal and factory seal are completely different. If you ever tried to sell it a knowledgeable buyer would know.
 
As long as you don't intend to sell it as new I don't see much problem with it. It's not a wildly valuable game at this point anyway. If it was sold at one point without the seal then you may find yourself with a moral dilemma at some point. If it always had the seal then you won't be able to sell it as new anyway. I'm not sure if it was re-released without the seal (Sony stopped putting those seals on games for some assinine reason) or not.

Still I don't really see the allure of 'fooling yourself' into having a brand new game. Odd IMO.
 
I don't see anything wrong if you enjoy having a non-rare re-sealed game sitting on your shelf that has money tied up in it that could be put to better use. By all means, do the same with Rhapsody and Gitaroo Man.
 
The just look better on my shelves sealed, thats all. Plus, with over 1,000 games across many platforms, it helps me determine what games I've played and what I still need to play...OK, maybe my wife is right, I do have OCD!

And there is NO intent to sell, EVER. That would just suck!

:lol: your wife is right. if you intend on playing it, why bother having it sealed?
 
why is it weird? Maybe I like to do that too. In fact, I bought a shrinkwrap machine and resealed ALL of my games. They I put them all on huge shelves lining my walls, all displayed face up.

Then whenever my wife walks in the room I ask her if she brought in any trades for me today...

ok, it is weird. But not wrong dammit!
