My roommate says that there was a SNES version of Chrono Trigger with anime cutscenes, but I know that it was just for PSX. Can anyone confirm this?

It would not even be possible considering the size limitations of a SNES cartidge. They on average stored 4Mb with the highest being around 6Mb. You could not fit any sort of movie on that.

No, the anime cutscenes were not added until the PS1 version. Squaresoft wanted to do something extra for the PS1 version, like the re-released NES & SNES Final Fantasy games on PS1, and add new cutscenes to it for the people that already played the SNES version.

And load times. They added load times. That was a sweet feature.
load times aren't that big of deal.. every PS1 rpg had load times..
Load times everytime you go to the menu is a big deal--and a game breaker.

Hm...

I have Chrono Trigger for the PSX but not for my SNES. Do you guys think I should really hunt down an SNES copy and pay that steep eBay cost for it? Or will the PSX version suffice?
