Watch out for RESERVATION REWARDS on EBgames.com...!

i've used them 6 times with no problems. as long as you're responsible and cancel within the first month, you should be alright. if you never receive an cancellation e-mail, just call them. they're very polite and easy to deal with and they don't pressure you to stay onboard. you can also cancel through their website. if you're responsible enough to check your credit card bills each month, you should be alright. btw, can't you just consolidate your other threads instead of making a new one each time about the same subject?

It seems that the people who complain are idiots that can't cancel, I used them yesterday to get Genma Onimusha and the Xbox exhibition that has the full Campom vs SNK2 for $0.98. I then canceled my RR account, without any problems, it took no longer than 30 seconds. It's pretty obvious you haven't had any problems with how many certificates you've redeemed. So stop trying to make it look like you're doing people a favor by selling them something they can easily get for free.

Uhmm...No...all you have to do is PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE CLICKING ON...then, no problems. These people who were allegedly "ripped-off" did not follow this simple advice. I signed up after a purchase, READ THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED $9 MONTHLY following the first 30 days, saw my PASSWORD AND USERNAME on the WEBPAGE THAT CAME UP AFTER I CONFIRMED ENTRY INTO THE RESERVATION REWARDS PROGRAM along with my $10 coupon code, then proceeded to cancel my membership...all WITHIN ABOUT 10 MINUTES. I received a CANCELLATION CONFIRMATION and everything! IMAGINE THAT!

Yep, thats what I did, I went the extra step and printed out my sign up and cancellation pages just to be sure. The methods Reservation Rewards use are pretty sheisty. Many people don't know they are signing up for a subscription service by accepting the gift card, then when they get the charge a month later they are angry. RR should not be able to obtain your credit card info through your original purchase. I am sure they have themselves legally covered by explaining everything in the TOS but still pretty unethical way of getting people to sign up IMO. But since we know about the charge, and how to avoid it by cancelling, we should be alright. Now if these people were getting charged after cancelling, then I would be worried.

yeah, I took an EXTRA extra step and used a credit card that I was going to cancel anyways, but I have used the $10 off many times, got a $10 dreamcast system and a $10 n64 system :)

I read over those "complaints" also...looks like the above posters are right. Just a bunch of people who are too fucking stupid to understand the concept of " 30 day trial and then you will be charged"

If you are going to do the reservation rewards thing, which I'm ashamed to admit I did (but at least I ordered pre-played games which I will keep), and you have an EB Games store near you where you purchase used games, then don't immediately cancel your Reservation Rewards account. If these 2 things don't apply to you, no need to read on.

Go to the reservation rewards link in your email and select the shopping/services link in the drop-down box and put in your zip code. If there is an EB Games store near you then you may be able to print out a coupon for $5 off any $25 purchase. The coupon says...
-------------------------------
Enjoy $5 off a purchase of $25 or more
valid anytime
Excludes all non pre-owned merchandise
-------------------------------
The double-negative in that last line seems to indicate you can only buy pre-owned games (excludes new merchandise). It doesn't say whether the $25 must be for one item or whether it can be multiple items that total at least $25.

If you still have your account, print out the coupons and keep printing them until your account is about to be charged (you should probably cancel a few days beforehand just to play it safe). The coupons expire 2 weeks after they are printed, so you can get a least 4 weeks of $5 off $25 coupons if you keep your membership the full 4 weeks.

It doesn't say you have to present ID or anything to use it. It does say "limit one coupon per visit" and "void also if more than one coupon is printed per customer". *BUT* the reservation rewards site says regarding coupon limits that you can print 100 offers per year. I can't find anything saying you can only print and use one of each coupon.

The coupon does have the specific store location printed on it (apparently the only place where you can use the coupon).

I just ordered a preowned Serious Sam (XB) from EB, for a cheap price using codes and SAVER, and I got it for $6.46. It was my first time ever shopping online (which I used the EB Games Custom Gift Card with scratch-off PIN in the back).. On the Receipt screen, there was a button on the bottom which had the I could redeem a $10 EB Electronic Voucher.. Is this Reservation Reward thing still safe? How hard is it to cancel? This does look very tempting..

It looks almost too good to be true, can mean one free game for me, as long as I cancel shortly after.. right?

All your help would be appreciated.

I had that reservation crap billed to my credit card for like 5 months before I realized it was on there. I bought a CD from a friend's site and turns out there was something in there that found an email address stored in my computer that I don't use and signed it up with that address and used the card I had entered for the CD purchase. I canceled the account that they so graciously setup for me without my permission/knowledge, but they refused to reimburse me.

thanks for the heads up, I guess I'm going to pass on this one then. thank you.

Thanks OP for reminding me that I need to cancel :)

This is a safe way to get some extra bang out of EB . . . I've used it about 8 times in the last year. Don't over do it! But I've never been charged and with the option to cancel online this is a good deal.

And, check out the site . . . you may be able to use a coupon or two.

Just cancelled mine.
I actually used one of the coupons, we went to a restaurant and got a 16.00 meal free.
i also used my Paypal card which only has a dollar or two on it now anyway.
Remember to cancel, check your statements, keep the emails/confirmations. If they were a total crooked scam, EB wouldnt partner with them. They're legit, they're just relying on people's laziness/forgetfulness, nothing scammy about that; that's the same kind of thing the CD clubs do as well [gotta send in that card!]

That's when you file a dispute with the credit card company.

One of my first posts here last year was about that POS site. Cause at that time, they didn't mention the $9 charge they do, which when they took it out, put my account in red(since I paid all my bills that week). I had my account removed from their database and they refused to give me a refund. So I had to get the bank to dispute the charge, which I got the money back and still it was unauthorized, they charged me no overdraft fees cause of those shaq-fu-ers.

I stupidly signed up for this after buying a game online at EB at 2am.

I used the $10 code, and just cancelled... but, I'm worried that I'm still going to be billed. I hope I won't.

If I'm not billed... this actually worked out quite well. Basically got 3 XBox games for $3. But, you can't use CAG15/SAVER or any code with it.

So do you have to print out a coupon for the 10 dollars off? And if it's a code, does it work with CAG15 and SAVER?

No, they'll send a email to the email account you used with a coupon code for you to use. Also, no, the CAG15 & SAVER coupon codes won't work with it(at least it didn't when I tried it).

Can I still use the voucher even after I cancel my membership?

Also, I assume it's not good to do this every month, (e.g. maybe every other month, so as not to be too obvious)

I think you can do it twice a month before they blacklist you.
can you use SAVER code w/ this?
no, you cannot use any code with it.

I just used my first $10 coupon last week and had no problems @ all. I just made sure to cancel as soon as my items were shipped.
