Watchmen:TeiN price drop. 360 (19.99) PS3 (29.99) - Universal? (BB, GS, Amazon)
Gonna wait on Amazon to price match the PS3 version, so I could use ECA on it.
Looks like they already did.

Is the :br: movie on the PS3 version viewable on any :br: player?

Or is it like the copy of Hard Bolied on the Stranglehold CE which could only be used on the PS3?

It seems to be $30 almost everywhere now, even at BB, where it was even 1/2 off so I got it for $15 (YMMV).

EDIT: Only reason Dallow knew that was because of me :p

How did you manage to get it half off?

Not true Saix. I knew the movie was a standard BD that'd play on any player.
Just didn't know if the games were install files on that disc or not. ;)

Oops forgot to mention it was a YMMV since it was with the clearance stuff.
Not a bad deal at all, especially if it comes with a movie.
No if about it. it's been mentioned many times that the PS3 version does come with the BRD movie.

grrr, wish I waited to get the PS3, that is an excellent price, $10 for 3 things if you break it down. Oh well, got the BD already, will get X360 used for around $15 when it hits that...

Haha, I know it comes with a movie I may have just typed it a little oddly. Is a solid deal though, as the movie alone is near worth that.

is this a universal price drop or just at GameStop?
I'm planning to use my $30 GC at TRU if it is.

$30 is an awesome deal for the PS3 version. The game stinks, but you're basically getting it for a few bucks. I'll probably end up getting it on Amazon for $27.
Is the Bluray the director's cut or just theatrical? I like the DC much better.
Yeah, I was wondering -- is the Bluray that comes with the PS3 game identical to the one that I'd get if I bought the separate Bluray version, or is it missing features? It's a pretty decent deal if they're the same, but if I'd be giving up features on the Bluray for a crappy game, it's probably not worth it.

It is exactly the same. It is 2 separate discs, one for the movie, one for the games. They didn't do the combo disc like originally planned.
I think the PS3 version does not come with the digital copy though.
Eh, that I don't care so much about, especially since those usually "expire" after a year or so anyway (which has always struck me as a big "WTF?", but anyway...). I'd be more unhappy if it didn't include the special features on the Bluray or something like that.

I just went to GS to bite on this deal, but hesitated. I think waiting all this time, Im just going to wait a little more for the Ultimate version with the black freighter cut in, if only to be truer to the comic. It would be a different story if the game was in any way redeemable but it seems to be the general consensus that it sucks so I decided to save my money.

Actually the game disc is a combo disc, if you insert it into your PS3 and go to the movie section, you'll see most of the extras that came on the 2nd bluray in the 3 disc set. Hockey is correct though, it does not include a digital copy.
Not much I can see.

Includes the Director's Cut movie, The End Is Nigh PS3 game and has most of the special features.
It comes with both End is Nigh games, Part 1 and 2. Not that they're very good, but 2 $20 games (over priced though they are) plus a $20 BRD for $30 is still nice. I wasn't interested in it for $40, but when I saw it for $30 and 50% off I thought...yeah that's good for me.

If a gamestop gets a used copy of this in for the PS3 it will have to include the disc witht he Blu-ray on it for them to take it correct?

Didn't even think about going the used route, but damn, if a coupon comes along for us to use on it...with the EDGE card...ends up being a real steal. Of course, do not assume that the movie will automatically be part of the used package. It's not like a multi-disc game, where the game is incomplete without one of the discs. This is, after all, GameStop. If anyone does go the used route, make sure the movie is in there. I would not doubt plenty of people ended up keeping the movie and dumping the game on GS, if that is allowed.

Damn it I went to get it off Amazon and the ECA codes were down :( I just got that free ECA and I have been dying to use it.
I think so, ajh2298. It should be part of the package and thus in order for it to be deemed "complete" it should need all of the discs.
Incorrect. If you find it used it is listed as "Game Only". Some may come with the BRD, but that's pure luck. It does not need to be traded in with the BRD and if the stores do what they're supposed to they shouldn't be taking in the BRD with the trade.

EDIT:

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75203

Granted new and used both say Game Only, but if you read the description it says
Purchase a New copy of Watchmen: The End is Nigh The Complete Experience and recieve:

 • The Watchmen Blu-ray feature film
 • Collectible poster and history of Watchman timeline.
Available for online and in-store customers while supplies last.

I picked up the first one on XBLA and had a bit of fun with it... but was definitely overpriced. I want to play the 2nd one, but wasn't going to pay $20 for that and be stuck forever. At least this way I can play it and then sell it again. I play it 2 player where it is a lot more fun, but still with major faults.

I ended up with the Xbox version a couple of weeks ago because I don't care about owning the movie. I loved it, saw it TWICE in theaters, but I don't care if I see it again.

I guess the second game is supposed to be worse, but despite the reviews, I thought the demo for the first game was a pretty solid fighting game. I definitely enjoyed it, and thought it looked fine (even if using the characters like that feels a little weird).

If nothing else, I'm like "eh, it's (up to) 400 points".

The PS3 version's awesome though that it just includes everything. Really sounds like the way to go if you do want the movie.

Ugh, and if I have to hear "digital copy" one more time... They're all fraking "digital copies". Last analog video format was VHS :bomb: (I know that's what the marketing geniuses call that, but...)

Yay The ECA codes were back. It dropped again since this morning so with ECA I got it for $25.19.

I will gladly take this awesome movie and pay an extra $2.70 for two sub-par games.

Thanks for the heads up, op. I also used an ECA code to bring it down to $25.19 over at Amazon. Seems like a great deal, considering the standalone blu-ray still costs $22.49 + shipping on Amazon.
