Way to download stuff from my dvr?

Ok, I just recently leapt into the 21st century and got a dvr through Direct TV. I have lots of stuff I like on there saved, but I'd also like to download some of my kids' shows I saved to my computer so I can burn a dvd for them to watch on a different tv. Is this possible without huge technie know how?

Yea, build your own DVR like I did.

Seriously though. Commercial DVRs aren't made to allow you to do anything other than what DirecTV wants you to do. Downloading recorded shows isn't one of those things.
