WD Scorpio Black 320GB 2.5" SATA HD PS3/X360 $52 + tax shipped

I thought the X360 used proprietary HD and not off the shelves 3.5'' laptop drives like the PS3 does, can you clear this up for me OP?

Use Google...if the OP did that a lot of CAGs' panties would get in a wad...which I believe you were fishing for that effect.

Neither uses 3.5" drives. They use 2.5" drives. There are many DIY methods in getting a 2.5 HDD into a 360, but it isn't approved by MS because they are idiotic and money hungry so they make you think that only they can provide HDDs that will work with the 360. Thankfully in this regard Sony isn't the same.
$52 its a bit high for a 320GB HDD, I bought a 750GB HDD from newegg last year for $60 that I installed on my PS3
Thailand floods are expected to keep HD prices up 200% in excess of the next year.

This is a good find and a good price...unless you want to wait it out. ;)

oh that's right forgot about the Thailand floods, last time I bought an HDD was last spring for my PC well before the floods started. I just checked HDD prices on newegg and they are indeed quite high
BB usually has this 500 GB on sale for $54

That's what I bought for my laptop. It's good for a PS3, but currently there's no support for anything over 320GB on 360 consoles. 320GB is the highest released sector value for the console thus far.

meh i got a 640gb in my ps3 for around the same price a year or so ago and for my 360 i don't see the point upgrading from 250gb right now. This wouldn't even be considered a deal if it wasn't for the floods. My opinion is unless you really need it wait.

From what I have read they expect supply to catch up to demand in the first half of 2012. So really your only looking at 3-6 months tops. If those predictions are accurate of course.

Also, BB has had those 360 USB drives for 30%-40% off recently.

The only reason I posted this is because I was just upgrading my PS3 to a 120GB pull from wife's old laptop. Got to checking (to see if I was going through the hassle anyways what , say ... a 1TB would run me) and saw the spike ... 2TBs are currently ~$250!!! Then read about the floods.

I'm hearing early 2Q 2012 for prices to return to normalcy, so this is only a deal if you cannot wait (like others have said).
