America Needs A Leader Like This!

Prime Minister John Howard - Australia

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on National Television

"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said.

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians."

"However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia ." "However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand." "This idea of Australia being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. And as Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle."

"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom"

"We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society. Learn the language!"

"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."

"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us."

"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.

"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."

"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

All you needed was this sentance.

I wouldn't read this if it were forwarded to my inbox.

Why would I read it here?

Shouldn't the white australians ask the aborigines if they like the parlament before telling those that came after them to get out?
Oh wait that's right I forget sometimes, 9-11 was just something that happened on TV.
Oh shut the fuck up. I'm sicka and god damn tired of radicals parading that around to justify any god damn fascist xenophobic claim.
So we need a xenophobe for a president?
Is president Bush really that far off?

And a poll done 1-2 years ago said that 40% of all Americans wanted Muslims to be treated like shit and have less rights than others.

What makes you think Bush is xenophobic?

And it seems to me those 40% aren't worth shit.
Thank God for the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

If you could make me shut up I would, but you can't. What is xenophobe the new word of the week at your school? There was nothing xenophobic about the PM's statement if you knew how to comprehend what you read. He is saying that YOU come to my house, you assimilate to me not the other way around. It's human decency but I guess you don't comprehend that either. No I am not a radical, I just pay attention to my surroundings and America as a country needs to change.
AND I NEVER SAID SOMEONE FOR PRESIDENT, JUST SOMEONE WHO ISN"T AFRAID TO SAY WHAT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ARE THINKING

Calm the fuck down.

Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said.

All three quotes are straight from that article. Tell me, how are those statements not grossly against other cultures and peoples?

You say that the claims made in this article are what America needs to adopt as its canon. Why should it? What's wrong with other people and languages?
Why must everyone conform to your bullshit standards? What makes your way of living any better than anyone else's?

1. I am calm
2."You say that the claims made in this article are what America needs to adopt as its canon" Who said that? I didn't say America needs to adopt anything, you are just putting words in my mouth to make your statement seem correct.
3."What's wrong with other people and languages?" nothing in their country, here we speak English and were founded by Christians, now I am not saying that everyone should become Christian, (I AM NOT) but it is what this country was founded on. So why should the people who have been here for 400 years have to learn a new language or worry if they offend someone because they believe in a different being IT IS ALL fucking NONSENSE
Don't even bring up Native Americans unless you are one and how they were raped because IT DOESN"T AFFECT YOU UNLESS YOU ARE A NATIVE AMERICAN
and you know what fuck cag for putting this in Political and controversy because this is neither, It is the truth
Hey, since you don't like it here in America, why don't you "clear off" to Australia then?
and you know what fuck cag for putting this in Political and controversy because this is neither, It is the truth
Well, that's how we do things here in the grand ole forum of CAG. If you don't like it, bugger off to somewhere where they accept your views.
and you know what fuck cag for putting this in Political and controversy because this is neither, It is the truth
GTFO.

Last time I checked I never fucking cared what a Canadian thought of ANY American Yeah your money is finally worth as much as ours now shut up and go buy a car for 10 grand more than it's worth. I LOVE AMERICA, our Constitution and the freedoms it affords us. I do not like the way big business is ruining this country and how people are all afraid to speak their minds and have to be PC all the time.
I did not write that article and didn't remember it saying America needs a leader like that, but whatever. You guys are all right and I am wrong
Don't fucking vote, veedub.
More like, "don't fucking breed."
Who said that? I didn't say America needs to adopt anything, you are just putting words in my mouth to make your statement seem correct.
Every time I meet a Canadian they have ALWAYS compared their money (loonies and twoonies HA HA HA) to Americans, so it is relevant because I am blatantly stereotyping you.

"This is OUR FORUM, OUR BOARD, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our posters, our ways, our belief in argument and debate, or excessive use of humourous censor smileys, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great cheapassgamer.com freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'."

Yeah OK, I believe I have been around a lot longer then you so don't say it is OUR forum implying that I should leave, obviously my point and the point of the Australian PM has been missed

DON"T COME INTO MY HOME AND EXPECT ME TO CHANGE EVERYTHING FOR YOU! That is the point. I don't care if you are Muslim, Hindu,or whatever I DON"T CARE just don't expect me to bow down to you because you are different. ESPECIALLY IN MY OWN COUNTRY.

". It is certainly appropriate for us to fling shit at anyone who wanders in here and does not respect this." Um yeah everybody started attacking me because I posted something that rubbed them the wrong way. I didn't just wander in here.

More like, "don't fucking breed." That hurts son, you should always respect your father you may have come out your momma, BUT I CUM IN HER

At the end of the day crotch, your a douche and whatever I say YOU will cry, whine, complain that I am dumb and you are the most intelligent being on this forum because you know how to argue whether you are right or wrong. Therefore don't hate the Human race because of me, I just stated an opinion and it would seem all the pussies at once quief -------------or if you prefer CROTCH QUIFF HA HA HA HA
Because I am not going to their country and asking them to, they are coming to mine and demanding it.
If you're not native american, you already did.
If you're not native american, you already did.
OMG, DIDN'T YOU READ WHAT HE SAID EARLIER!?!??! YOU CAN ONLY BRING THAT UP IF YOU'RE NATIVE AMERICAN!!!!!
Don't even bring up Native Americans unless you are one and how they were raped because IT DOESN"T AFFECT YOU UNLESS YOU ARE A NATIVE AMERICAN
I just want to say this is one of the best threads on CAG right now. Nowhere before on the internet has there been such complete and utter genious and idiocrity at the same URL.

Vs. Forum I love you. What I love the most about you is that the OP didn't even origiinally want to post this inhere because its not up for debate and "truthiness".

I suppose I should get on topic for at least some of this post. I for one can understand how the Au PM feels but acknowledge that it is probably best to exercise tolerance. It did remind me of Bush. There may not be any direct evidence that Bush is xenophobic but he sure seems it to me. Immigration and whether people should acclimate (or be forced by the government to acclimate) are interesting issues and I think a fine line needs to be struck between tolerance and the cultural benefits of diversity with the need for a nation to have its unique sense of "culture" or who we are as a people.
Also, you forgot about our three-dollar coin: the Woodie.
??

Seriously, though, this thread = suck

God help me, veedubkid's made me  harder than anything in a long time.

On a side note, Howard's always been a fucking prick. He's pretty much Australia's George Dubyew. They're slipping closer to becoming a police state like Britain, which is too bad. :(

And a further off-topic note, Canadians are fuckin' awesome. I love my Canuck friends. Give us your healthcare. Please?

I think I can kinda see where he's coming from, but only in extreme cases. While his phrasing, context, and overall attitude was similar to Ann Coulter on a 13 day crystal meth bender, it really doesn't make much sense for citizens of a country to be forced to adapt to and accept wholeheartedly the cultural ideals or language of immigrants. Some ideas are just logically ridiculous (like most of Sharia law, for example), so they should be evalulated and either tossed aside or integrated, depending on whether they can fit into the overall culture.

Furthermore, it is not unreasonable in the slightest to expect that immigrants who choose to come to a particular country share in that country's values on some level. If one does not believe in the ideals of freedom and democracy, for example, and instead believes in tyrannical Sharia law and oppression, then perhaps coming to the United States may not be the greatest of ideas.
Yeah, but c'mon - Smash Brothers has a level editor. How cool is that?
It's fucking awesome. But this thread still sucks.
If you're not native american, you already did.
They're, in short, Asian immigrants- their ancestors came across the Bering Strait, albeit thousands of years earlier. The Americas were not originally inhabited by humans.
