So, webcams.
I'm out of the loop, how cheap/expensive are these things?
Is there a way for me to communicate with family, and if so, what program?
Maybe a pack so I can give some webcams as gifts for them to use?

I will only recommend Logitech,... as they have been perfect everytime.
They are also some of the most stylish.

I just picked up a Laptop/Flatscreen pro, and it is awesome!
It was $90,... it goes for $100,... and can be found for much cheaper than what I paid.
You can talk to anyone who has a webcam, for free, using one of many clients,... M$, Yahoo, AIM, or another.

Don't get suckered into the whole VOIP thing going on.
It's just a scam.
The bandwidth is better,... but you get practically no lag with a free internet client.

You can also use the camera as a microphone, to chat for free, while you instant message, if the other party doesn't have a camera.
My mom went out 2 weeks ago and snagged a Logitech, and we've been having a blast.

Good luck.
BTW,.... Logitech offers a paybased service too,... but I really didn't look into it.
It may be worth it, but that depends on you.
:)

www.skype.com is a great program to let you talk with people around the world for free..all you need is a microphone....you can use it to talk to anyone around the world, although it does not have webcam features just yet....

logitech makes the best webcams so far for a very good price, the one you have posted above is a very good model, i got a 20 dollar one also. eyeball chat is what i use to camchat with my gf, and it works better then AIM, yahoo video chats. free download, and easy to use.

if you can still find logitech webcams for 20 bucks, best to get it.
and for programs, use eyeball chat.

Sounds good to me, I'll look for ordering it later.
Though, no free shipping.
Anywhere with free shipping? Or maybe some Amazon codes?

Upon closer inspection, $20 is either used or refurbished.
Any place selling it for $20?
If not, I might settle for $33 from Amazon, along with this headset I've been eyeing.

EDIT: How about this two pack?

Around $67 new.
Is there any better places to get a 2 pack? Or maybe buying two individually?

Oh, webcams. I bought a really good Logitech one on eBay a few years back for about $40, (it's outdated now) and had some really fun times with it on Yahoo! Messenger with my girlfriend. Fond memories. Sigh.
Target has a Logitech 2-pack for $40 online an instore.

That looks pretty nice.
How long is this thing going to be on sale?
And does it have a built in mic?

This thing right?

$66...

Much better price at Target for $40.
BTW, how much is shipping at Target.com?
I doubt my Target carries this webcam product.
Looks nice.
Better than Logitechs?
Anybody else use LabTec? (Never heard of Labtec...)
As far as I can tell, LabTec is a division of Logitech. The cam installed a Logitech folder in my programs files. It contains the sample pic/video I've seen while running the software.

If the picture is accurate, then I got two of these (refurbished) to chat with my GF on AIM. They work fairly well for cheap webcams. The only real issue I've seen is that the color tends to be inaccurate (but I expect that will be a common problem with all cheap cameras due to their crappy sensors). It's not that big of a deal though, because you can adjust the balance manually with the logitech drivers until it looks correct. I would recommend them if you're looking for something cheap.

It isn't a sale, they are regular price. They don't have built in mics. No idea on shipping but three Targets in my area all have them in stock.
