I just finished section 3-2 in Vanquish, Mak. Probably done for the day.
That's about where I am. I'm a little past the part where you get a trophy for defending the Pengloss statue.

And the ads in the paper just seem to lie. 2012 mazda 5 van one in stock at 17,988. (none listed on the website at that price.) used 2010 mazda 5 van for 19,999. WTF! Why would the 2010 cost more than the 2012?? fuck you car dealers.

GF and I got approved for a loan to get the house we want. Now we just have to figure out the extras. We're not upgrading much right away...cabinets, stainless finish on the appliances and a different edge on the granite. The wiring is killer though, they really gouge you on prices (225.00 to wire per ceiling fan).

We won't be moving till December so looks like I have to save every penny till then.

The only channel I have to watch the US vs Mexico soccer game on is Univision. I guess this is sort of the best way to watch it though.

After a long hiatus I just signed up for Netflix again. Any recommendations for shows or movies that came out on dvd in the past year or so?

Also, is there a place that lists dvd releases each week but keeps a history? I use Amazon for the new and upcoming releases but I don't know where to look for stuff that came out already.

Finished Alpha Protocol this week. Starting up the Original Portal tonight. It'd be nice to be caught up and be playing the same games as everyone else but I'll never get there.
I never buy things new, for one thing. And I came to the :ps3: a few years too late so I'm a little behind everyone.

I finally got around to playing the demo last night. It felt so old. I played Escape from Butcher Bay (2004) recently and it kind of seemed on the same level as that.

Mazda is like that. They "add standard features" every year. They take the most upgraded features from 2010 and bundle them in with new 2011 models at the new base-line pricing. My 2007 Mazda6 SVI cost less than the 2006 Mazda6 base model. My car came standard with a 6-CD changer in-dash, power everything including 8-way power driver's seat, rims with wheel locks, and the ambient temp display in-dash.

Congrats. Definitely get the rounder edge for the granite, the square one chips. From what friends who have bought new construction have told me, don't pay the extra for the appliances, ceiling fans and other electrical/plumbing stuff, an electrician/plumber will charge you less after the fact. Make sure you hit Green Demolitions in Honesdale, PA. They have designer showroom break downs, overstock and high-end "recycled" appliances, many of which are brand new. They're a non-profit that supports AA/NA and teaches recovering addicts job skills so their prices are dirt cheap. We got a new Kohler Highline toilet, cherry bathroom vanity, granite counter top with under-mounted porcelain sink, matching cherry medicine cabinet, and matching cherry linen cabinet for $550. The toilet alone normally retails for $200+.
Goddamn it, I beat DNF carrying the pistol the whole time but didn't get the achievement for some reason.
If you did drop it at some point, did you mistakenly pick up a non-gold pistol?
Did you drop it?
You can drop it and pick it up -- I did it during boss fights a lot. Particularly the 2nd and 4th out of necessity... so that shouldn't affect it. I know people on x360a.org were saying you could do it with chapter select, but mine was in a straight playthrough. The only thing that jumps out at me is if he dropped it, went to pick it back up, and got a regular pistol instead.

Thanks for the tips. My dads a contractor, so if they won't throw us the extra wiring for free, we're gonna do it ourselves. I agree on the appliances (we're not taking the upgrade toilet, faucets, lighting fixtures, handles, etc). We are springing for the stainless finish on the standard kitchen appliances because it's only 650.00, and we're getting that price added to the total mortgage price.

I'll definitely check that place out. We're gonna need a table, couch, cocktail table, end tables, and various other accents. Scary and exciting at the same time. Think I need to man up...this is my transition from boyhood to becoming a man.
If you did drop it at some point, did you mistakenly pick up a non-gold pistol?
I didn't know you could drop it and pick it back up, so I was always careful to never swap it out for another weapon. That did make some parts unnecessarily hard. Oh well.

So I did put in the Orange box last night into the :ps3: and started Portal. Got up to test chamber 15 in about 90 minutes. Going to be a short little game if I can figure out the rest of the puzzles this quickly.

Will start Half Life 2 tonight or tomorrow night.

Beat DNF last night. A whole lot of fun that game. Now I just need to finish the rest of the achievements (only have six left, and most of those are mere collection ones).

I almost met Ron Paul the other week. He was a couple blocks from our house in Dover, but we didn't wake up early enough.
Anyway that's really gay you dumb nerd.

Beat Link's Awakening. That was fun. I've got OoT to move on to, DoA coming in tomorrow, RE Mercenaries coming in Tuesday, and I still need to play Ghost Recon.

3DS overload.
So it's down to a 2009 Kia Sedona or maybe a 2010 Mazda 5 if they'll come down on the price. Minivans forever!
My wife and I are currently in the market as werr...Might I recommend the Nissan Murano and/or Rogue. They are decently priced as Pre-Owned, as we are prolly getting a 2007 Murano S AWD with 31K Miles for under 20K.

We also looked at the Mazda CX-7 which was comparable.

Quick update...Number84 is home from the hospital, but is now running a 101.3 fever. 101.5 is the 'Get your a$$ in the car and drive back to CHoP' line. He's fighting it!

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but isn't .2 degrees just incidental? I feel like 101.3 itself is pretty serious, especially for someone who has been under the knife recently.

Yikes. Sounds like an infection of some sort. Best of luck to him.

It's a shame I have to be up at 6 tomorrow. My next case is Nicholson Electroplating in L.A. Noire and holy fuck the beginning was awesome. Can't wait to start it. Whole games been kind of luke warm to me so far, but it's really picked up on the arson cases imo.

Difference between 101.5 and 101.3 is negllable. If it doesnt go down after some ibuprofen/tylenol take him back to the hospital. Fever means he's fighting the infection, it's not always a bad thing.

Unfortunately all the Nissan's around here seem to be going for $25-$28k. The Kia and Mazda's I'm looking at are all under $15k thankfully.

Nah, that's not until you knock her up. Til then you're good. I mean, look at Frosty. In 3 weeks, we'll have had our house for 5 years. He still gets to play video games 7 days a week etc. That doesn't change once you buy a house. Now, a baby on the other hand, that's end game.

Don't panic. Call the doctor's office first thing in the morning. Nothing worse than a $500 ER bill when it could be a $20 office visit. At this time on a Sunday night, they might not do much in the ER and just keep him for observation until the morning when the doctor is in, anyways. Depends on how high the fever gets.

I feel like I should be keeping up with world events, becoming more educated and wearing a monocle.

Or I could just play games all day errday :whee:

All of Power Rangers other than the current season is streaming on Netflix.

So down to watch at least MMPR, Zeo, Turbo, Space, and Lost Galaxy.

Went like 20 miles north of the last beach access, tanned, and popped off with a glock into the ocean and on a few targets. Wasted two clips with regular bullets, and half of a clip with hollow points on the targets. So awesome, and a really nice stress reliever. Felt good holding the pistol with one hand out toward the ocean and just emptying the clip. GUNS ARE COOL.
All of Power Rangers other than the current season is streaming on Netflix.

Duke Nukem was alright. Don't think I'd play it again, but it was worth the rental.

4 day week followed by a 4 day weekend. Guess which time period will go by quicker.

Anyone know if there's any good trade in deals at GS this week or next?

EDIT: Nm, just saw the 40% deal on the front page

I 100% agree. When we called the hospital and told them they pretty much said, if it isn't 101.5 then don't bring him in. According to the surgeon, the body reacts to trauma by increasing body temperatures, so all the PT he was doing and movement yesterday, it makes sense.
Yikes. Sounds like an infection of some sort. Best of luck to him.
Thats what has us concerned, especially because he's allergic to amoxicillin and they had to give him some other antibiotics.

Fortunately, after the Tylenol and cold compress they recommended, it went down to 99.0 and is holding steady as of when I left for work this morning.

The trick with kids is to get them involved into video games as early as you can (Nos. 84 and 85 were playing as early as they could hold a controller without trying to eat it), up to the point where you can set up a second console in another room and they leave you alone. Especially on World of Warcraft raid night!

That exactly what the surgeon told us too, that they'll prolly just stick him with an IV and give him Tylenol and "make him wait until I get done my round of golf tomorrow" (He was kidding, of course...but I wonder). He said if it's still high to bring him back, but fortunately it seems to have come down.

I gave my card to a bartender at a place I go to regularly Friday night and ended up paying cash. Turns out he charged my card too, which is ridiculous since I didn't sign anything. Naturally I didn't keep my receipt so I paid $60 for $30 in drinks.

I've had that happen to me before. Annoying.
