Weird Ass Day....

So, today I go to Target to get Star Ocean with my FFX-2 raincheck in hand. I get there and at first I give the guy the raincheck and then he goes off to look for FFX-2. I then told him I wanted to use it on Star Ocean, and another co-worker overheard us and said "Yea, he wants to substitute, it's okay as long as we don't have the game in stock." They didn't, so I was happy I didn't have to go through any trouble. He rings it all up and it comes to about 18 bucks. I was trying to be a nice guy and tell him that it should have rang up ~28 bucks, because FFX-2 was 44% off. He insisted that he was doing it right and I said fine. So, I got Star Ocean 3 for 18 bucks today!

After that I went to GameStop to pick up a used copy of Star Fox Adventures. I buy it, get home only to see that the disc has spanish writing on it, so I was like shit. I put it in to try it out and it has spanish as the spoken dialogue, with english subtitles. SHIT! I gotta return it tomorrow. I was pissed, but it's just a simple exchange. What a weird ass day, eh?
spanish star fox adventures, id keep it, since i hated that game in english it might be better in spanish
So true, so true.

Go you for trying to correct him on the price change. If everyone was honest and didn't cause trouble when using those rain checks, they might have never started monitoring them so closely or saying that the rain check may only be used on the item that was out of stock (as my local Target has  ). It's that kind of honesty and manners that helps keep deals alive, not the people who prattle on about how it is illegal for a company to cancel orders on pricing errors and the such. You and your honesty rule, and it paid in the end. :applause:
Spanish... what!? I'm suprised that even played...
I am too, actually.

not really, I think that all of north america is in the same region of disc reading... plus mexico uses ntsc and not pal like europe..... I just wonder how a gamestop got one

good job on getting that game for $18 and trying to be honest with it. i dont know why GS would have a spanish copy of star fox. i have never seen one come into the one i work at. that really sucks that you have to use your gas money to exchange the game, that would piss me off.

You really think some illeagal aliens brought their gamecube games over the boarder with them? Or that they even own gamecubes?

If my life were so bad that I was illegally entering a foreign country, you can bet your fucking ass that I'm not spending any money on goddamn Starfox Adventures in mother fucking español.

I think the way this work was that when Target puts sale prices in their computer system, all they do is mark the price down, they don't do anything to mark it as a sale price.

When a raincheck is used to take the percentage off of the game title, they just take the percentage of whatever price is in the computer. If the game is at $27.88 or whatever, being on sale, they deduct it from the sale price.

I think it would be up to Target to put in a special code in their computer for a sale price that overrides the addition of the rainchecked discount, or just have their employees prevent people from using a raincheck on a sale item.

I can't shaq-fuing believe it. I went back to exchange the copy of Star Fox today, brought this one home, Spanish is the shaq-fuing spoken dialogue. Damnit! I checked all of my other games and they all work fine. AFAIK, there are no language select options on the GCN.

I think star fox had some weird dinosaur language that rare made up for the game. maybe that is what you're mistaking for spanish (maybe it is based on spanish), but I think it eventually goes to english once some sort of translator is acquired.

But I know you did mention the spanish writing on the disc itself and, that I can't really explain.

Maybe they jumped a borderguard who just so happened to be bringing home a Gamecube and Starfox Adventures to his kid. And the only reason he bought it was because it was a dollar. Like most of the things in Mexico. You never know.

I have just got to say, maybe the aliens were from another galaxy and they had big green heads with superior intelligence
