Yar's Revenge

WTF was he avenging?
In a distant galaxy the civilization known as the Yars were attacked by the fierce Qotiles. Though badly damaged, the Yars' fought back using their mechanical ships that look like giant metal insects. The Qotiles have many laser cannons shielded behind celluliod barriers which are capable of destroying the Yars. It's up to you to control your Yar ships and dig your way through the shields and fire your powerful Zorlon Cannon into the Qotiles. The enemy is relentless; there are thousands of laser cannons surrounding the people of Yar, each one is capable of firing deadly energy swirls at the Yars. They are also protected with a destroyer missile that will constantly track you down and detonate your Yar ship. It's up to you to save the Yars, good luck!

P.S. Yars' Revenge is named after Atari executive Ray Kassar (Yar backwards).

Super Mario Bros (What made them super anyways?)
Necromancer (The dude grows trees!?!)
Compared to previous Mario appearances the addition of side scrolling was pretty major. It wasn't the first scrolling platformer but it set the standard.

As titles go, Necromancer was a great one. Just not very appropriate for what might be better described as a Druid. I remember asking Bill Williams about this in a phone conversation when he was doing work for Cinemaware way back when but I don't remember his answer. The guy was a bona fide genius, though. He always got machines to do stuff everybody else would have said was impossible, like producing the first HAM game on the Amiga. He died of cystic fibrosis a few years ago.

Yep. It's Mario Mario and Luigi Mario. As for Wario/Waluigi, if anybody has old Nintendo Power issues, I beleive one of the comics holds the key to that one. IIRC, one of the comics features Mario and Wario, and I believe they say Wario is a cousin(?) of Mario. Don't quote me on that one, becuase it has been years since I saw theat comic. Somebody, look it up!
