And Mass Effect to keep me busy for a few months after Christmas (it's out in January in the UK I think).

Is anyone else really excited about this game season? It'll make up for the terrible movie season I suppose!

It just seems that there a lot more GREAT games coming out this year than most years.

Brothers in Arms - Game of E3 for me. Looked like a great, solid shooter - even if the WWII scene is flooded. It actually stood out from all of the sci-fi shooters and looked fantastic.
Your distinct lack of Rock Band makes this thread null and void. Shaaaame!
Considering most of the games he has listed ar single player, Rock Band probably isn't for him.

So you have a Wii and get big brain academy, but no strikers, galaxy, metroid, smash bros, fire emblem, battalion wars?

That is shameful.
So you have a Wii and get big brain academy, but no strikers, galaxy, metroid, smash bros, fire emblem, battalion wars?

That is shameful.
I've already had Strikers, sold it so I could buy my new DS (I lost it. Somehow. I still have no idea how...)

And I don't think the others are out in the UK this year? Maybe I'm wrong. Fire Emblem is going to be the biggest game for me on Wii, closely followed by Mario Galaxy.

And on the Rock Band point, I've only played Guitar Hero once and I sucked. It didn't pull me in. Plus I don't want to spend my entire student loan on peripherals - I'll stick to playing real drums/bass thanks. ;)

I do seem to have a lot of single player games in that list, because they're the ones I got most excited about from E3 - I hadn't really considered that they're mainly single player.
And the multiplayer Wii craziness (SSBB, RRR2, WiiFit) won't be happening until 2008 in the UK I don't think. At the moment I'll stick with Mario Party for my multiplayer, as my friends at uni are generally non-gamers who like to dabble in drunken multiplayer. (case in point - we always have the N64 set up with Goldeneye sitting in the slot...)

Ah sorry, I didn't know you were in the UK (missed that one comment apparently). I'd hope that at least one of those will be out in the UK this year, but I dunno. Thanks to the Trade 2 get 1 at GS I already have most of them preordered for about $25 each, so I'll be plenty busy for the rest of the year, but my wallet will actually be doing pretty well (besides the TV I plan on getting). It's going to be great for me and I only have a Wii and DS. Might try to get a 360 around the end of the year or early next year.

Stop rubbing American prices in my face - it costs like $90 for new game here. :p

Maybe you're right about one of the Ninty games coming out. I would assume it would be Galaxy - essential for all ages and will probably be the first 'real' game that all of the Wii-owning non-gamers will go out and buy. Or receive for Christmas.

Even though we have a laggy release calendar, I'd still say 2007 will be a decent year for game releases in the UK.
