What? A special edition Xbox in the US?

I wouldn't think a retailer would be stupid enough to risk alienating customers by pulling an April Fools joke, but I've been wrong before. Also, the "XB Hardware Halo" still shows up in the Coming Soon section.

I wonder if they're already out of their allotment?

Thanks Sighlintbob. It looks real, but I heard it's a microsoft April Fool's Joke. Kinda like Sony's saying the PS2 will be around 10 years.

that would've been funny had the PSone not lasted a whole 12 years (and going). Seriously Sony's in the type of position were it can now dictate how long its system will last, be 10 years or a 100.

Too bad they make one for a game that is so overrated. Figures the Japanese get an Xbox for a real game like Orta, and we get Halo. Shows what MS thinks of Americans.

No story, no bots, poor cinemas, 4 weapons... Well, I'm Sold!

wow your an opinionated little shit. MS has every right to think about americans that way, since Orta was a flop and Halo SOLD CONSOLES. Just be glad it wasnt a Kabuki or Whacked xbox.

There's one thing that almost all special edition consoles have in common: they are never released in the US. It's more often the case than not that the consoles would only see release in Japan, though a few have been exclusive to European territories.

See, in Japan, it's not uncommon for someone to buy multiple PS2s of differing color. Even with games, the deluxe packages sell like mad. In the US, this really isn't the case (or so console companies would have us believe).

'Real' game? How much more real can you get with Halo, the XBox's top seller?

I didn't know they packed in fake games. Maybe this is being sold at Target, bundled with two pieces of paper and a CD-R.

Damn, I don't think I've sassed any PS2 game or PS2 fanboy that much. You've got alot spunk in you, too bad you don't have brains as well. Four weapons? Obviously you didn't play it much, there are ten weapons including both types of grenades. The storyline isn't that strong, but atleast it's not absent like in almost ALL other FPS's. And we can also get Panzer Dragoon Orta over here (America).

Orta was just a overglorified shooting gallery, not a very good one at that. You don't have to like something just because its Japanese. From your comments it sounds like youve never even played the game--theres a lot more than 4 weapons.
