Title says it all what are some current games that can be flipped because yesterday i was looking at these forums for 4 hours and couldn't find anything and plus i wanted to take advantage of the FYE 45% extra store credit so please help.

whoo boy... that's a rather tough question to answer. Current games, like PS3/360/Wii etc right? to be honest you'll more or less have to figure alot out yourself... you gotta check and see what games are cheap in your area and then checking the TIVs at FYE(I believe one of the FYE discussions on here has a list of trade in values). You probably don't see alot of discussions about flipping because not a lot of people like to talk about it... it's an iffy topic. That said, the blockbuster forum is pretty abundant with flipping discussions, even though it's seems to be mostly about flipping between BBV and Gamestop you can probably apply alot of it with other stores like FYE. I could be wrong on this but keep in mind that FYE only takes games in really great condition, at least that's the way they do it here. Some minor case damage might get a pass but the discs have to be excellent, games need cases, etc.

Haven't really checked the deals thoroughly as of late, but I did notice that Target had GT5 for $10. Just don't get greedy, I still want one to actually play!

Also, Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt can be sold for a good $50 or so, and they are really easy to find.

Good luck :D

Buy 1 million COD: World at War, wait until Modern Warfare 2 comes out & sell your copies for $10 less than you purchased them for and BAM! Instant profit!
If you haven't figured it out by now, you won't get much help.
I just helped him, what are you talking about? I just gave him, and all of CAG my secret flips.

You're going to have to do your own research if you're looking to get into flipping. If we helped you out, it would just be adding another person to an already crowded marketplace.

Madden 06 is a goldmine. Amen.

well thanks for SOME of your help i guess. looks like i have to do A LOT more research than i did before i guess i was looking in the wrong places but i just kind of wanted to know what games were good currently for flipping plus i know madden 06 is not good for flipping because sports games aren't except for NCAA basketball 2K3 for gamecube. the super mario / duck hunt game is super hard to find. and buying 1 million copies of WaW and selling them $10 under price is not going to get a profit.
Two words: Sonic 2. Goldmine.
LOL. I actually just sold a cart only "Not for Resale" copy on amazon for like $10. I listed it under the "Collectible" heading and someone bought it. Never mind that under the "Used" heading there are copies for like $.01.

Really? I've got like 2 CIB and 4 loose copies that I can't get rid of. People just seem to give them to me when I tell them I collect games.

Goddamn, you're retarded. There are other sports games that can be flipped, but you're obviously too stupid to realize that.

Well see? You already know waaaaaaaaaay more than all of us, so what do you need us for? Sounds like you've already got the business plan down and know plenty about super secret high profit flips that we have no clue about.

NCAA Basketball 2K3 for the Gamecube, you say? Come now, everyone knows sports games are worth peanuts, quit trying to play us. Next you'll be telling me my 5 factory sealed cases (and 1 case opened to verify contents) of Dusty Diamond's All Star Softball for the NES, 60 copies total all factory sealed, is actually worth something.

Sure we were clowning around about the Maddens, I mean, everyone knows only VINTAGE Maddens, 2001 and earlier, are worth anything. All the post-9/11 releases aren't as hot or in demand because they removed the twin towers from the skyline in the view from the general managers/owners box at the meadowlands when playing as the Giants on franchise mode.
Dusty Diamond's All Star Softball
Just an aside, but I'd never heard of that game and just did some research on it, and I've got to get the Famicom version. You can play as mummies and ghosts! WHAT!

all this thread was to do was to help the general community to some people who are new to flipping games. i thought this was good because it could help but i guess not. and i never knew that the pre 9/11 madden games were worth anything.

The thing is that people who are interested in flipping games don't need your help.

I've heard a legend about a website devoted to nothing but flipping games. I think it's just make-believe, like unicorns and bad blowjobs.

Zach, if games that are easy to flip become general knowledge, they are no longer easy to flip.

You're shooting yourself in the foot on this one.

Besides, in all honesty, flipping is situational to sales and clearances 99% of the time for anything current, and for anything old the market shifts constantly. Look at Final Fantasy Vii - used to be worth next to nothing, everyone and their brother had a copy, Target had sealed greatest hits versions collecting dust on the shelf... and then Advent Children came out, and suddenly the game is worth money again.

Good luck, but you're barking up the wrong tree here.

You must have never met my ex...
Your ex was a unicorn?
possibly a unicorn that gave bad blowjobs? Every time she pushed her head forward she stabbed you in the stomach.

There's a user on CAG who's id is IAmTheCheapestGamer - if you want some help and advice on getting started flipping, I advise sending him a PM.

He'll have way more "insight" than any of these people who aren't really giving you any information of value.

I used to be able to turn a profit running to pawn shops and the like, but those days seem to be over. Everyone turns to Ebay for their pricing, so it's very uncommon to stumble across a $7 copy of Suikoden II or Tactics Ogre these days. It's just not worth the effort. Get a job...

Thanks for the nod there, pfp, but I have to agree with many on the 'do your own legwork' thing.

The good part about FYE and the Transworld chains is that games trade values are searchable on FYE's sister sites: secondspin.com and wherehouse.com

Just change the thing in the search box at the top ot 'sell your games', type or cut/paste the name in and voila, it'll bring up a list of each game with a name similar to the one typed.

If the game doesn't come up in the search though, that means it's TIV is .01 and they won't take it for trade.

Agreed. I flipped for a while to pay off my debts. It went well for a while, but it seemed as the recession got worse, so did my hotspots. Alot of the pawnshops started marking up games and pricing individually(all of them started pricing their SNES systems at $60, I still don't get what kind of logic dictates this markup). The local BBV that used to sell games like Gears of War(back when it was only a couple months new) for $13 started marking games up to $32. I probably had a hand in ruining things too... one shop I frequented used to have great prices, they must've figured I was reselling because now instead of bulk prices they mark ALL of their games individually. If I happened upon a game with some resell potential, this one fella would come frantically running from the opposite end of the store to make sure the employee wasn't letting it go for a low price. "Don't sell mare-ee-ooh games for less than $10!"

Flipping seems like an easy idea in theory, and while the self-management aspect is fun, people thinking it's going to be easier than working a real job are only fooling themselves.

you know.. you cant really say investing in something else is the better way to go. people choose what they want to do with their money. opinions are appreciated but in this case who gives a shit whether he wants to buy video games and flip it. stock market is a good investment? yeah................... i saw that one coming . hold on let me look at my 401k.. nope hasnt gone up yet. meanwhile, the "ico" market at the sony firm has gone up to $90 from $10-$15 2 months ago.

btw this isnt directed to anyone. i just hate when people compare the stock market and video games for investing purposes. i could just see these people at the grocery store with their significant other "i think i wanna buy milk" and then they go "no, dont buy milk, buy SOY MILK - YOU GET MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK." who gives a fuck.

anyways, op by easy money you mean $10-$15 flip? cause thats really not worth your time

That's like asking McDonald's to post the recipe to their secret sauce on the web.

Flipping is a business to many of us, and frankly, we don't need more people getting in on it.

Also, out of curiosity, please don't tell me that you are trying to get into flipping because you read that stupid article in Game Informer? NCAA 2K3 is NOT worth $400.

You serious? That's lol.

What's the average salary for you pros?
no i didn't start to flip because of gameinformer. i wanted to start to flip because i read the Flip Success and Flip Flops.
That thread is mostly about people running back and forth between GS and BBV to get store credit, not money.

Flipping is not some undiscovered goldmine. You don't always make a ton of money at it, and most of the time a successful flip nets you $15-$20. If you need money that badly, get a job.

I wish FYE still gave $15-17 for PS2 games I can get from GS in bulk for $2 each. Powerdrome Racing for PS2 helped me get a slim PStwo for like.....$12-16.

But I didn't even know the 45% thing was back again. I may have to re-check some values via SecondSpin.com or Wherehouse.com and see if anything I haven't played in forever is worth some decent credit there.

Takes a lot more dedication to flip on a daily basis than what you think. A lot more money, too.

In all honesty, this is the stupidest thread I ever read. You want people to post flips so you could make a quick buck with no work involved, correct? Did you ever think that if everyone and their mother knew about a flip that the market would get saturated with said flip? Once there are too many games in one market, the price will plummet and you'll be lucky if you can get rid of it at cost.

wow, after one page of posts, people still didn't get it. CaG isn't about flipping games and it is frowned upon.

Did you read that? (I stopped after the first page to write this, so if someone else already said it, sorry for stealing your credit.)

Don't publicly announce flipping games. You either do it or you don't. I don't understand why everyone has to get everyone's input in life, just do it and move on. maybe you will have the opportunity again?

Flipping, IMO does not gain enough profit to justify the time and effort put into it. Plus it generates false shortages of newly released games and screws fans out of good deals.

What blind man did you sell an old copy of madden too? I mean who is stupid enough to buy a used copy of an old madden for $25?

I bought a brand new copy of Madden 08 for less than $10

I guess he better stick to selling Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt then ;)
