im lookin for a good PS2 or PC RPG...no ps1 games please...

something along the lines of FFX or FFX-2 or KOTOR (PC)

need a cheapish price...maybe 25 shipped max...but can be B&M also

all the dot hacks are done, bof: dragon quarter and DC 2 are done...and for PC KOTOR is done....

and im kinda lookin for a newish title...i mean it doesnt have to be something that came out recently like Shadow Hearts 2 or anything...but just not like 2 years old...

hmm...so far, i am thinkin of these in this order:

1. Xenosaga (heard this had a great story)
2. Kingdom Hearts (heard this was a great package)

if you like mechs, then pick up front mission 4, it is $15 at best buy and target now. It is more of a strat rpg tho.

All the ones in this thread are solid pickups tho.

Also, i need to mention katamari damacy, it is not really an RPG at all but it is fun as hell.

so here's the priority for now:

1. Katamari 15 bucks after GGC @ BB (if in stock)
2. Xenosaga 15 bucks after GGC @ BB (if they have any)
3. FM4 15 bucks @ BB
4. Kingdom Hearts 15 bucks with GGC @ BB (if they have any)

Basically I have to reapeat what has been said. Xenosaga, Kingdom hearts, Shadow Hearts 1 is now cheap like $20 at most places, Culdcept is kind of a Strat/board game/ RPG that I recently picked up, Wild Arms 3 (rented a lot and is very fun). If you opened it up to PS1 RPGs that I can give you a ton for it.
 
I'd definately have to second Kingdom Hearts, especially if you are a square or disney fan. Okage was a lot of fun, but don't go into it expecting much more then a funny plot, pretty much everything else was flawed, but it is still worth a play. You might also want to check out Grandia II, it's very cheap and from what I've heard it's quite good, although I have to yet to play it.
 
Definitely Kingdom Hearts. It was one of the reasons why I bought a PS2, and my first (and one of my favorite) PS2 game.

If you're very much into a story-driven RPG, try Xenosaga. Be prepared for a heap load of cutscenes. For me, it was one of the game's best points. For others, it just shut them down completely. Try renting it first to see if you like it.

Shadow Hearts is also a good one, if you're into RPGs with a darker enviroment and more mysterious storyline.

here's the list again of what he has/likes:

1. breath of fire: dragon quarter (got him this a while back)
2. ffx
2. ffx-2
3. all 4 dot hacks
4. lots of gundam games
5. dark cloud 2 (told him he should get it when i first got it)

yea..so i might be leaning towards fm4, KH, or xenosaga...but i might want him to experience katamari...but to be safe, i'll probably try an rpg...
 
Yeah, by the looks of it, he should enjoy KH as well as you. I would also like to suggest Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits, it is somewhat like Kotor.
 
Hey, what about Dark Cloud 2? Lol, oh damn you posted that. I was also gonna add the .hack series but I think they sucked. I really should read the rest of the board eh?
