I'm currently reading Song of Susanna, book #6 of the Dark Tower series. I'm enjoying it so far. Also, I'm reading The Inferno of Dante whenever I need to take a break from King. Both are amazing books. I recommend both!
For school, I just finished reading Grendel, a book telling the story of Beowulf from the monster's PoV, and I must say, It is an AMAZING book! I reccomend that over the other two.
The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It has all five of the books in the series. I keep reading this on and off. I think I'm on Life, Universe, and Everything right now.
Currently looking into getting Da Vinci Code and awaiting for Half-Blood Prince.
Right now? Nothing. Don't have time right now because of the whole "last week of high school" thing.
Two choices for my next book, though. The first Dirk Gently novel is one of them, and one I've wanted to read for ages. I'm leaning a bit more towards The Lonely Bones, though, because I've been told over and over again that I'd like it. Best to read it and find out myself, I guess...
I just started reading Maya Angelou's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" in school, and the last book I read out of school was "Mostly Harmless", from the Hitchhiker's Guide Trilogy, about a month ago.

Has anyone seen the movie with Johnny Depp, and if so, was it any good?
Shogun was good, but it was a loooong ing book. I ended up zoning for the ending.
Eh. A day, at most. It did start to drag, I'll tell you that. I also read it in ninth grade. It was contest between me and this Battletech fellow to finish it first.
Im partway through the ultimate hitchihkers guide as well, and i'm also reading "the man who mistook his wife for a hat," an account of all the weirdest clinical patients this shrink had.
Finishing up the Earth Sea trilogy now. Not as good as I expected, but not a bad read. I also recently finished Issac Assimov's Foundation trilogy and really liked it a lot.
The Birth of the Queen: Sodomy and the Emergence of Gender Equality in Modern Culture, 1660-1750 by Randolph Trumbach, if you need a copy let me know....
I just went to the library today and checked out Phantom by Susan Kay. This is the 2nd time I'm reading this book. First time, I read this book many years ago. But recently got interested in it again because I just saw Phantom of Opera movie on DVD.

The Foundation books are great. Plan on reading the extended trilogy books?
Now I want to re-read those. And I want to re-read the seven books of Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series.

Yeah I was at a local book store just yesterday and saw book 5 and 6, I had no idea there were more. Once I find part 4 I'll start on the extended triology. Does it follow the first directly, or just focus on the same theme?
That is definateyly my favorite book of all time. I finished it about a week or two ago, and it was so incredibly good.
Here's my initial post-BR post:
Before I forget, I finished reading the Battle Royale novel yesterday. Mitsuko's still at the top of the list but Shinji's stock shot up and damn near knocked her off the perch. Kiriyama is pretty awesome but at the same time not very interesting. Fave Kiriyama moment was actually the mention the he mastered the violin and threw it in the trash, if you can believe that.
I'm currently reading The Eye of the World, the first book in The Wheel of Time series. I started it awhile ago and couldn't get past the fifth chapter, due to Jordan's tendency to describe things to EVERY last detail. However, now that I've gotten further, it's actually pretty damn good. Can't wait to go read more tomorrow at work.

I haven't read the non-Asimov ones (considered the "Second Trilogy"), but the ordering is a bit tricky, which is why I want to re-read them. This should help, if you're interested.
Stephen King: Wolves of the Calla
Anthony Bourdain: Kitchen Confidential
Timothy Jon Curry, Kent Schwirian, and Rachel Woldorff: High Stakes: Big Time Sports and Downtown Development
Andrew Heath and Joseph Potter: Nation of Rebels: Why Counterculture Became Consumer Culture
im not reading anything right now, but im considering reading that book grendel someone mentioned earlier. i should reread beowulf to refresh my memory of what happened.
I should finish up Fire Watch by Connie Willis either tonight or tomorrow morning. It's a collection of 12 short stories by her, including one really disturbing, ed up one.
I think I'll be starting The Salmon of Doubt by Douglas Adams after that.
I've read all pahlaniuk's fiction novels other than the newest one (haunted), he's gotta be my favorite author.
Same here. I own everything he's written except the new one. And I have an autographed copy of Stranger Than Fiction, which I haven't even read yet.
Every month I read GI and EGM, next month won't have to worry about GI though. As for an actual book, I just read Great Expectations. Think I'm gonna take the summer off as far as reading goes, except in text games of course.

Save yourself some disappointment and don't read Haunted. It's just not all that good. And I love Chuck, even his non-fiction.
Anywasy, I'm currently reading Heart of Redness by Zakes Mda. He's a South African writer who visited my school eariler this year. As a bonus, he signed my copy!
Right now I'm reading 'Star Wars and Philosophy'. I picked up the Battle Royale novel a couple of days ago so I'll probably be starting that sometime soon.
