I am eyeing the deadwood season 2. that is really the only thing that i would want, maybe some of the homicide life in the streets seasons.

I remember last time they ran this sale, they jacked the prices up on a lot of the box sets so i didnt buy anything. The DDD 20% sale really only makes sense for the higher priced items that never seem to go on sale(like the boxsets). It is too easy to buy used dvds for next to nothing either at pawnshops or off of ebay

and possibly a few others. Do they drop prices on any items during this sale or is it a generic 20% off. I'd love to get Smallville Season 4 but I have been waiting for it to go on sale. I missed it when BB had it on sale sadly :whistle2:(
 
I have watched Firefly a few times, Futurama in order at least tice, and Sports Night 3 times. :p

That's how often I watch my shit.

Naw, I've seen my Futuram S1 set three times of every episode and Firefly is the biggest thing I'm watching right now. Seen it already 3-4 times.

Last year it ran from June 16-25. I think the year before was the end of June as well. I'm going to start keeping a real close watch for it starting around the 10th or so. It's nice to get your order(s) in right at the start of the sale so your stuff gets shipped out right away, before they get bogged down with orders.
 
I want to finish off my Cowboy Bebop Remix volumes and Full Metal Panic Fumoffu volumes.

Try having 1700+ games or 500 DVD's. I will never play or watch them all. Doesnt matter, I love having a collection.
Anyways, back on topic.... where have I been. I never knew about DDD until recently. I missed all those great sales. I will definitely keep a watch out for it this time.
 
How come some items don't have their pictures anymore? Items like Infinite Ryvius which are in my wishlist now don't have any.
 
Holy shit, they raised the prices of Criterions to insane amounts compared to what they had been. Everybody best be getting the criterions they want before tomorrow at amazon. Brazil is up and so is some other sets I had been eyeing like 8 1/2

Edit: And certain items like Titus Season 1 and 2 have gone down to $17.

I've got a very very big list at the moment. Probably tomorrow or sometime this weekend I'll start whittling it down to what i really want. Probably this time I'll go more so for certain Criterions and box sets.

Sale usually happens around the 3rd weekend in June I believe.

Im looking to a new Sci Fi series, do people recommend Farscape or Babylon 5? Farscape would be cheaper to try out, but getting the complete collection would be slightly more economical for Babylon.
 
It it happens in June, probably just Deadwood season 2. If I'm really lucky and it's August, Deadwood S2, The Wire S3, V for Vendetta 2 Disc, Apocalypse Now: The Complete Dossier, Arrest Development S3 & Inside Man.
 
Man, this sale is going to hammer in my wallet. I've beentrying to narrow it down, but just two things I want are going to cost me, let alone the rest. Still, I'm going to try and keep it to as close as possible to how much I spent at the last DDD sale.

My main wants are the Kurosawa Collection and the two Alfred Hitchcock sets, with a bunch of Criterions and some random films thrown in.

But of these Criterions, which would you guys say are the better ones, and I'm talking overall package (i.e. film, sound, etc...)

I'll probably end up getting all five, but I still want some CAGgers opinions on them quality-wise.

If there's going to be a box, it won't be for a looong time. Bandai doesn't really like putting out box sets for its newer shows...
 
I'm going to try to get the Farscape Starburst editions 6-10(odd they don't have 5) hope the sell starts before they pull them. I'm also pondering the DS9 and or TNG season sets but I really don't want to drop that much cash right now.
 
I'll probably just finish out what I can of series I have that need it... Cowboy Bebop, Hare Guu, Gankutsuou.

Also start Elemental Gelade and Strawberry Marsmallow.

How many episodes are included in that set? Are their better box sets out there with more uncut episodes?

Just have your wishlist prepared and order within the first hour or at the very least the first day. Then their free shipping is relatively well. Afterward items tend to go out of stock very quickly, but they still allow you to order them, but it just may take it longer to get to you if you chose free shipping. Also, I hate to tell you,but if the past is any indication of what may happen at this sale, most of the titles you list will not be apart of the sale as last time ADV refused to take part in it.

I wish this salw would also come by now. The anticipation is killing me, and I just want to get it over with and to get the movies I want.
 
I may just go crazy and get the entire series of The Twilight Zone plus the Tales Of The Crypt, Titus DVDs.

If you can hold off till Thanksgiving, Best Buy has had seasons of 24 on sale for less than $20 each for the past three years. And this is not just on Black FRiday, but the entire weekend. Last year there were tons left on Saturday when i went to buy S3 and The Shield (also usually on sale for less then $20).

I wasnt able to get the Farscape sets. A previous post said he called in to get them, but from what i remember that was nixed early on by some others trying to do the same thing. I never bothers, but if you want to take your chances....
 
I'm hoping to limit myself to the Kurosawa samurai collection and The Office: Complete Collection, but I'll probably end up dropping $500 as I remember things I want.

Ehh that's not necessarily accurate. There's an entire price audit thread on DVDTalk, it doesn't appear they do, except on stuff that's pre-order then jumps when it's released, as most stores do.
 
True... usually it's just new stuff or like the really popular high-demand mainstream stuff that gets slight a price hike. I think I remember South Park s6 and the Wrestlemania collection going up in price for the last sale (both were very new at the time). And I imagine you'd see something like the Star Wars box set go up.

There was the newer Gilmore Girls season at the time that also went up - I think it might have been more expensive at the new price after the 20% was taken off than it was before the change.

damn r u serious? is it for sure that ADV will not be a part of the sale? or is that just everybody's assumption since they weren't a part of it last yr?
 
Do we know the exact date yet? I'm kind of scared now that you mention it, because I do remember the site getting SUPER slooow during the sale, and a lot of people missed out on the more popular sets. I'll try to be there as early as I can
