What Are You Reading Right Now: Da Return

jmcc

CAGiversary!
It's been a while since we had one of these, hasn't it?

Currently reading: Labyrinths by Jorge Luis Borges. Good, good stuff if you like the old-timey fantastic genre (i.e. Lovecraft, Poe to some extent.)
An anthology series by HP Lovecraft.
There's like a million-billion of those, though. Which one, specifically?
Da Vinci Code

I wanted to see why is everyone all crazy about the book.
prepare yourself... for mind numbing triteness.

I don't know the cover was ripped off since I've had it since high school. Feels good to read up on Lovecraft again. Cthulhu fo life yo!
I'm going to start up on the whole set of the Chronicles of Narnia soon..
Theres a really good deal on a rather large book that includes all of the books in one for 15 bucks
"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" is what I'm currently reading.
PKD is probably my favorite sci fi writer, though Bradbury and Asimov are pretty damn close.
instruction manual for my new insulin pump
Mmmmm....sweet, delicious, life-giving insulin.
I've been thinking about getting one of those insulin pumps, I've just never gotten around to it. Maybe one of these days.

Anyways, on topic, I just finished reading Battle Royale last week. Right now, I think I'm going to start on Star Wars and Philosophy, a book I picked up a while back.
Tai-Pan
I just finished Tai-Pan yesterday. Great book. As for myself, I just started reading Gai-Jin, by the same author.

Great idea OP. I think we should try and keep one of these constant like we have with the Song of the Moment and Movie threads. At the very least it would give people recommendations. that's what the other threads have done for me. Anyhow, the last book that I just finished reading was Tom Strong Volume 1. It was actually a re-reading of it. Love Alan Moore's work. Now I think I'm going to start re-reading Tom Strong Volume 2 and then maybe move onto From Hell.
Da Vinci Code

Same here. Just picked it up today..

Finished Calculating God yesterday, and am now reading Frameshift, also by Robert J. Sawyer. The guy's one of my favorite authors; that was the second time I read Calculating God, and this is my second read through of Frameshift. I'd highly recommend any of his work.

What's good by Bradbury?

Thank you kind sir, but I am lucky enough to have found the whole set just sitting on my book shelf at parents' house...nice lil' surprise since I completely forgot I owned them.

I'm currently reading The Fires of Heaven by Robert Jordan. It's book five of The Wheel of Time series. So far, I'm loving this series, though I've heard it starts going downhill after this book. I'll stick through it, if only cause I have 7-10 in hardback that I got for maybe 25 bucks at a discount book store.

I'm reading Lord of Chaos, Book 6 of the Wheel of Time.

You've heard right. This is my second time thru book 8, I've yet to read 9 and 10. Decided to start over since it had been so long. They are better the seond time thru it seems.

The only thing that really concerns me is the fact that apparently one of the later books only takes place over the course of like three days, but is over 600 pages long. I'm just not sure how he can manage to tank this series all of a sudden. I've heard that he introduces too many characters, but I've thought he's been doing that since The Eye of the World, so I'm not too concerned with that. He's brought me to the point now with the characters that I really care for what happens to them, so I wanna stick this out. Hopefully I will.
