I have the following preordered, in order of release date:
Disgaea 2
Mage Knight (Ok, probably not really an RPG)
Contact
Magical Starsign
Phantasy Star Universe (meh, sub fees - will probably switch)
Children of Mana
Final Fantasy XII
Lunar Knights
Zelda Twilight Princess (yeah, no RPG but it will be a time-stealer like one)
Final Fantasy III
Rogue Galaxy
I will definitely be adding Tales of the Abyss to that list as it looks like it is retailing for only $30!
Others I'm interested in:
Summon Night 2
FF V
Yggdra Union
I'm going to pass on Valkyrie Profile 2 (even though I just played Lenneth and liked it), Xeno III (haven't played the other 2 yet) for now, and Baten Kaitos Origins (paid $29.99 for the first, then saw it for $3 at Kmart and haven't played it yet). I will definitely get those later, but I'm going to take my chances on getting them cheaper down the road. As it is, I probably won't get to half of the ones I've already preordered before they are on clearance somewhere for $8.96

. I really should probably wait on FF XII as well (as I have never played a FF game before) but I have the LE preordered - yeah, GS will probably have tons of them, but I don't want to miss it if not.
I am finishing Tales of Legendia right now and might actually start Disgaea 2 this weekend or next. I've never played the first but I feel if I don't start this one now it will get put on the back burner forever. With Disgaea coming to the PSP that gives me the excuse to wait on that one (and just play 2 first).
I'll probably start into Contact as soon as it comes out as I haven't played my DS much recently. Also, I'll probably start FF III. As my work travel ramps back up again I might end up having a great deal of time for these DS RPG's, so that's one good aspect of it anyway .
BUT, I agree with the main point of the OP, there is a wealth of RPG's coming out in such a short period! I'm fairly new to console/handheld RPG's - is this unprecendented?
