I was wondering your thoughts on the best turbo grafx 16 games. If everyone can make their top 5 game list that would be cool. I am in the process of getting one and was wondering what some good games for it are. If you can go over top 5 cool if your under thats cool too. Just trying to get an idea.

Oh yeah I know that Dracula X is awesome so lets exclude it hehe.

Dracula X is turbo duo, so I assume you mean 16, cd and duo.

These are the titles I think deserve to be considered the best that there is to offer (though many would disagree with some) My list is essentially u.s. based, mainly because my collection is overwhelmingly u.s. I have most hucard and cd games, about half of the duo ones (I have 145 total, about 20 imports).

1. Bonks Revenge
2. Air Zonk
3. Final Lap Twin (racing and rpg mode are superb)
4. Veigues Tactical Gladiator (very unique game)
5. Soldier Blade (most like blazing lazers and this is viewed as a sort of weaker version, I view it the other way around and think this is far superior)
6. Neutopia (take zelda and improve it)
7. Buster Bros
8. Bonk 3 (hucard or CD, CD is better, but not really worth the cost difference in my mind)
9. Cosmic Fantasy 2
10. Alien Crush
11. Cyber Core
12. Mystical Formula (import, definate buy if you liked gunsmoke for nes. Essentially the same game just updated and futuristic)
13. Pac-Land

Also, you need to buy keith courage in alpha zones. It's not a great game, but it's not bad either. There are two different types of stages (you change halfway through every level). One would make a great game, the other is average at best. But you still need to buy it. Not having keith courage is like buying an NES without buying any mario games.

Also, there is a sizeable enough difference between alien crush and devil's crush to make you hate one and love the other. Most like both, devil's crush being considered one of, if the not the best pinball games ever. I hate it though but love alien crush.

Dracula X is good, I don't have or love castlevania. Excluding it's history I don't have an opinion one way or the other on the series as a whole. Dracula X is probably the best one I've played in the series, but I don't think it belongs among the systems best, or at least my personal favorites from the system.

1. Parasol Stars
2. Loom
3. Bonks Revenge
4. Ys Book I&II
5. Splatterhouse

My TurboDuo brokedown recently and I'm trying to find a new one. Great system (if you can find it) with great games.

1. Bonk's Revenge
2. Parasol Stars (Bubble Bobble 3! WOO!)
3. New Adventure Island (amazing at the time)
4. Bonk's Adventure
5. Devil's Crush (found it for $2 at a garage sale two years ago!)

World Court Tennis - the tennis itself is solid, but the game also has some fun RPG elements. Random tennis matches replace random battles and you can equip different shoes, rackets and clothes.

All of the Bonks
Bravoman (in a bad sort of way)
Bloody Wolf (not because its really good or anything, I just have fond memories of it from when I was younger)

World court tennis has an rpg mode? That's one of those games I bought just to go into my collection, but never actually played. I'll give it a shot if its a tennis rpg.

Splatterhouse - survival horror, baby!
Neutopia - great Zelda clone
Alien Crush - awesome pinball, great music
Military Madness - Advance Wars owes it big
Blazing Lazers - one of my favorite shmups

I sold my Turbo years ago -- in part because the controller was fading. It's the only console I sold and never got a replacement eventually. One day, perhaps.

Bonk games
Devil's and Alien Crush
Legendary Axe
Ninja Spirit
JJ and Jeff
Pac Land
Deep Blue

if you love shooters, you'll love the TG16

I never owned a TG16, but every time I rented one from my local video store, I always rented Dungeon Explorer. It's a personal favorite of mine.

My favorite TG-16 games:

Bonk (Adventure/Revenge/3)
Devil's Crush
Legendary Axe II
Magical Chase
Neutopia
Ninja Spirit
Parasol Stars

I heard that there was this game for turbographx cd called "Fighting Street". This game is actually street fighter 1 which only came out in the arcades and the computer. Has anyone played this game? Is it like the original?

Two of my favorites was this karate game where the characters were huge and a vampire pinball game.

It's nothing great. Good for the time maybe, but that's it. It's only value now is just to be able to see where SFII came from.

I saw on Ebay listed some time ago someone put in a switch on the Duo that allowed you to switch from US to Japanese games. What do you think of this? Is it worth getting it?

Yes and no. I bought a pc engine (plus games) for less than a decent converter (some are junk) costs. If you pay over 60 or 70 extra (I haven't paid attention to systems with switches for a while) then I'd say no. That is unless you want to play arcade card duo games, them yes it's worth it. Arcade card duo games require a convertor to play, or a japanense system, since the arcade card goes into the hu-card slot. So while import cd games work on a us system, arcade card ones won't because the hu-card slot is regional.
