What cell phone/ringtone/homescreen/message tone do you have? - 8525 owners: WM6!

Free silver RAZR V3m from last month. I remember back when these were hundreds of dollars and people were clamoring over them.

RAZRV3. Got it a little over a year ago. Looking to switch to a Sidekick ID sometime in the near future, depending on whether or not I can get 2 year contract deals by extending my contract. I'll have to talk to T-Mobile. If not, I'll be waiting until my contract runs out next August to get a Sidekick, and it'll probably be cheap enough to warrant the Sidekick 3 by then.

Some LG camera phone. Got it fairly recently, over the summer. Pretty much useless for me though. I don't really need anything that does more than make calls.

I use this one.

SLVR L7 with the contract ending in two months. I have my eyes on the Blackberry 8830 World Phone through Verizon.

Samsung A900 from Sprint. Little thing has lasted longer than any other phone I've had before.

Soon to be replaced by a WM6 device for checking work email, once my 24 months is up.

LG VX9800 right now. Probably a blackberry pearl2, come feburary.

Now what's really interesting is your current ringtone.
The Final Countdown for calls, and the Metal Gear Solid codec ring for texts

motorala dynatac 8000x...kinda bulky but it gets the job done, i always have a headache after i use it for a minute or so ;)

i actually have a Samsung SCH-u740...its not bad, but i like my old audiovox cdm-9900 better

Crazy Train for calls. Stock for everything else. Haven't found anything I like for alerts or messages/emails that isn't super nerdy.

I have a:

4 Gb iPhone

and will pick up the Curve when we get it later next week.

I am a manager for at&t. :)

Red Razr V3M

Red wasn't really my first choice but I needed a better phone and better service. Switched to Sprint (from T-Mobile) and they gave me that phone for $60 and a rebate check for $200. So, I ended up making $140 just buying that damn phone! Overall, I'm happy with the phone and the service in my area.

Do you swap sims around or do you have a family plan all to yourself?
Hasn't th curve been out for a while? or was that only on t-mobile ?

I have a blackberry pearl
Red RIZR V3 here, amazing phone.
I've gone through one already, but I think it's because it was one of the first runs. Have you had any trouble with yours? But other than that one incident, this is easily the best phone I've ever used. I love making my own ringtones for it.

I haven't had any problems with mine, just the screen getting smudged is all. I need a new micro SD card for it though, 128MB isn't enough.
... Did you hack it?
You can use mp3s as ringtones on it, that's probably what he meant, unless he clipped the songs down so it wasn't big on the micro-SD card.
... Did you hack it?
No, as MorbidAngel4Life said I just crop down songs. And since my computer has an sd card reader port on it, I just pop my micro sd card into an adapter that makes it fit into my card port, copy, paste, and boom! Home made ring tones.
Sony Ericsson W810i.

Big fan of the phone.
whooo~!!

I got mine when it was still chineeeeeez and shyt

Hmm, I didn't know you could do this. It took forever for me to find the RAZR drivers online (since I didn't want to purchase the media package). I finally got it working, and dragged a couple mp3s onto the tiny internal memory to try to test it out. I didn't see an option where you could set your own mp3s as ringtones. Do they have to be under 30 secs?

If you have Motorola Phone Tools, it comes with an editing suite.

That's what I did for my RAZR before I got the BJ. You can also download a program (RSD_Lite) to hack it. I unbranded it and made it be able to record video (the original couldn't).

Thinking about picking up a Nokia 6230 or something else cheap to replace the 8290. It's just too outdated, even though it was the shit in 2001.

No, I just found the right drivers. It took me long enough for my PC to even recognize the phone, and bitpim sometimes doesn't detect it either. I finally got some mp3s on there, but I couldn't seem to set them as ringtones.

Naw, they can be as long or as short as you want. Cheetah Audio Converter and Audacity is the way to go. Then just plug and play, drag and drop, and you're good to go. And I know that when I had a Razr it came with like a 64 mb mini sd card. If yours came with one, throw your ring tones on there.

Dang, that really bugs me then. Maybe I put them in the wrong folder? I should mention as well that it's Verizon, if that makes any difference.

I don't know. I've got Tmobile, and I'm really talking off of my experience with the Rizr. But I can only assume its the same, what with it being motorola and all. But I just drag and drop into the root menu and the phone reads it no problem. Why not try throwing some photos on there and see if those show up?

Mine came with an adapter.

bought it for $45 cuz it's quad band - taken it to 5 continents and it's worked on every one - though it's pretty fuckin beat up now.
Mine came with an adapter.
Kind of like a dummy SD card you can pop your memory card in? That's what mine came with, so I can only assume its the same thing. But I normally just plug the phone into my computer and it comes up as an external drive. It's really easy/convient/cool :)

Yeah, that thing, and I do the same, just drag and drop the files:)
Yeah, that thing, and I do the same, just drag and drop the files:)
Same for me. Blue motoRIZR here. I doubt I'll ever use it as a music player, but the 2.0MP camera helped me take pics of clearances and prices for CAG. Ever since I got the phone last May, people still give me the "Oh, you mean the RAZR? What's a RIZR?"
