OK,

Newbie here, but I have used the same username for RacketBoy.com and MAHQ.net.

And truth be told, I register here just to get more exposure to increase my chances of getting my stuff sold.

So, what did the rest of you do for the 1st time on CAG?

I used the site for the pricetracker for a while. Then got so disgusted with GameFAQs after the CNet acquisition that I stuck around and started posting here.

yeah i didnt register until there was this huge toysrus sale where re4 was going for cheap. ended up bying it from someone here who had extra copies as well as some other things from the store. you couldnt see the deals unless you signed up.

First heard of the site around last June or July, lurked around the Video Game Deals forum, then joined in August.
Lurked on the deals board until I got annoyed by the screens telling me to register.
:bouncy:

It was so long ago, I can't remember. I either bought a copy of Spiderman for PS2 from EB Games for $10 or read Cheapy's post about Best Buy's problem with the ass. I didn't actually register until a few month's later.

I was also a lurker until I saw some of Cheapy's contests going on. I haven't won anything yet, but this site became one of the most useful and enjoyable sites for me. :)

Friend told me about this website during the bestbuy buy 2 get 1 free glitch, I lurked for a few weeks and eventually signed up.

I lurked the forums for a few months during the time Circuit City marked down a crap load of games to $5, back in '03 or '04. Since CAG was the only place talking about it long before sites like Kotaku and such picked up on it.
Circuit City $5 Christmas closeout...the first one.
Good times. I hit a few stores and cleaned house - list in hand and everything!

Registered to be able to post a question about a deal--had lurked for a couple years prior to that. Didn't post much for a couple of years, but started posting more after getting tired of some other sites.

Same.

The look on the clerk's face when game after game popped up as $5 and the panicked "um, I got to go talk to the manager" was almost as good as the deals.

Well, I heard about CAG for about a couple of years, just never thought of registering for it, since I am not a hardcore gamer, I mean I can wait for weeks for a hit game to go on sale or even go on clearance (NMH2:DS, I'm looking at you!)

Do most of you use CAG as the primary source for price tracking?

I got games to sell, and I want to get the right games.

I actually don't read the deals forums that much anymore. At least the games deals, I do check the Blu Ray deals forum once every day or two.

I don't game a whole lot anymore and mainly just use Goozex. I've only bought 2 or 3 new games the past couple of years, everything else has came from Goozex, and every game has been traded on Goozex after beating it.

i don't even remember how i found this place, but lurked for awhile after seeing the circuit city sale in one of my computer classes in highschool. fun to browse the deals and plan where i'd have mommie drive me and feel super cool like i was ripping the store off or something.

eventually registered for some transformers contest.

Registered because I wanted to find good deals on PS3 games since I just got one a few months priot. I found a Best Buy rewards zone deal for Haze for free or really cheap (can't remember) and then the deals kept coming. Started flipping games from GS to BBV when there was good promos at GS.

Friend told me, and I registered. Forgot about it for a year. When I missed a deal (same friend told me it came from here) I began posting and lurking more in hopes of finding more awesome deals.

I knew of the site long before but I wasn't too in to the forum scene yet. Missed some really good deals over that years.

Registered to see deals because I always saw the site linked when deal searching. Decided to start posting because people deserve to experience me.

I believe I registered to get access to the deals section and then sat and waited for EB Games to update their website every morning with the used games, like most other people back in them days.

I did the same exact thing. I had a boring summer desk job and this site helped keep my sanity. Thanks CAG!

i saw the sites design and threw up..... think i had the flu that day and when my friend was scrolling down the page the colors just made me lose it LOL

I found this site looking for a video game deal. The first thing I did was try to make a trade page and realized I had to wait 30 days. lol
Same.

I remember that sale, it was glorious. A friend told me about the deals on the main page and I eventually signed up for the boards.

It was the $5 games at Circuit City back in '05 for me. Great stuff. And even though it was $10, I repicked up Castlevania for PS2. I was mad that I traded it in a while back before then. So this site helped me out.

I have heard about Goozex and SwitchGames, just don't know if it would work for me. Does work well for you guys?

I was hoping to post a sales/trade right after I register, but the rule states that you have to wait for 30days. Quite a bummer!

Goozex is a great way to get rid of games and to find older titles.

According to my very first post, I complained about the co-op achievements in Guitar Hero 3.

Lurked for a while, before joining (while still in high school).

Buddies and I would huddle around the computer each morning during study hall to see if we needed to check out some stores after school.
Goozex seems like a good thing to use if you want to trade games, but if you want $Cashmuney$, ebay seems better.
yeah, but ebay can be quite a hassle with its ever-changing policies.

I was trying to sell Wild ARMS 3 + Guide on ebay, and it didn't get sold.

Yep, Goozex is great for trading games and getting older (i.e. out 6 month or more) games.

The convenience thing is huge for me. I don't have the time/interest to hassle with ebay, or even trading on a forum like this, with the need to list things, respond to offers etc.

Lurked for along time as back then you could lurk forever. Don't remember what deal I signed up for....

I'm pretty sure I heard about the site from Fatwallet.
