What do you want Next-Gen?

Reliable consoles is a really good one. My family's 80's NES still works(as long as you don't touch it while it's playing) last time I checked, no reason why consoles should be breaking down within their own generations.

I don't want a next gen. Not for a while, anyway. It's been more than three years since the 360 came out and there's still no PC game that couldn't run on it. I bet even Crysis would run at 720p in medium detail if they wanted to port it.

It's really since systems went to disk-based systems with lasers and moving parts.

There are definitely more factors coming into play, but this RROD mess is pretty much inexcusable. It would be amazing if Microsoft would actually fix the problem for good, rather than keep sending people consoles that they know will probably die within a year or less.

After all my XP PC is still working after all these years, why should my console have such a short lived life?

this generation has been over done with cut-scenes and QTE. actual depth to gameplay would be nice as well
it's not necessary for games to look like real life. what matters is good art direction and appealing character design.
i'd like to see the "one console" idea within the next generation or so as well.
If I had to guess, game prices and controller prices will stay pretty much the same. Games at $60 on the sony/ms platforms and $50 on Nintendo and controllers in the $40-50 range.

They aren't going to roll back prices now that people are used to paying them.
not necessarily. if the controls gets updated or whatever they decide to do with it, prices may or may not go up depending on gains and loses the company is willing to undergo. i believe nintendo may stay at the same price [$40] as there was an article that stated they were looking at other possible motion patent companies. this may indicate that they are looking at ways to reduce the cost of the motion controller while possibly improving on other things on the console and controller.

with games, we more then likely know that nintendo is sticking with dvd as they're fine with the storage space. however, for ms it maybe a problem with dvd and may resort with blu-ray or an alternative data storage source. depending on sony and microsoft, it depends on how far and legitamacy on the use of higher storage data discs. if sony resorts on using higher blu-ray discs, prices may go up but again it depends on the losses and gains a company is willing to take.

it also depends on the cost of development as well. if development goes over what it is today then games will go up and it won't depend on the gains and losses a company is willing to take.
