i think this late nightness is getting to me and i've been watching tv for sometime now.. mine would be

anime network
g4tech
food channel
cartoon network
comedy central

and those are really the only channel i watch i guess then the occassional mtv/bet. i swear there is more. but eh

Jealous of the OP - we don't get Anime Network in this area (not yet anyway).

All I need is Food Network - that's quality programming.

Also, Nickelodeon for Nick @ Nite (Cos + Roseanne!)

That's all!

Comedy Central, HBO, Starz, FoodTV, TLC, Discovery, Discovery Science, History, Discovery Health, National Geographic, HGTV, TNT, CBS, ESPN... I don't know how you'd have so much trouble finding something good to watch.

I could get along without any of them so long as I have a broadband connection and they'll allow me to download what I want for a reasonable fee. As it is, in preparation for moving and general belt tightening we recently switched to the most basic package our cable system offered. Instead of about 120 digital channels it's now just 50 or so analog channels with about twenty of those blocked out purposely on our ReplaYTV channel guide to make finding stuff easier. I don't need to know the schedules for foreign language, shopping, and sports networks. since we still get Skiffy, Comedy Central, Discover, History and Cartoon the only real loss forme is the HBOs and other uncensored movie channels. For a difference of nearly $70 a month I'd rather keep the money or buy DVDs that can be resold if they don't prove worth keeping.

OK, I don't have all these channels anymore...but I could live with just these 5...

Comedy Central
ESPN
MuchMusic
WGN ( or Fox Sports Chicago...whichever shows more Cubs games)
HBO

Fox, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network (only for Futurama), and NBC (also only for Late Night). Since the topic does say five, I guess I'd throw in History Channel. Everything else on TV sucks.

Spike(MXC, ST:TNG), Cartoon Network(most everything), VH1(I Love everything, actual music videos), Fox (Simpsons, new Family Guy), Discovery.

unfortunately i'd probably give up Discovery for court TV (Damn you Law & Order... Doo-Doo!)

ESPN
Comedy Central
Cartoon Network
Fox Sports Net (i have to watch my Warriors games even though they get beaten more than 2/3 of the time)
VH1 (I love the 90s is shaqfuing addicting!!!!!!!)

Cartoon Network and Fox. That's it. The only reason I even need Fox is for Arrested Developement and Simpsons. Otherwise, CN all the way baby!

ESPN
Fox Sports Net
Comedy Central
TBS
Cartoon Network

I also watch NBC and my local WB quite a bit.

fox
espn
nbc
history channel
food network

Honorable mentions: vh1, cnn headline news, espn2. When it's hockey season, i'd trade fox for fox sports net - i need my Sharks

you just watch showtime for the "LATE NIGHT SPECIALS" yeah i had a friend over and he wanted to watch tv so i felt like shit and was sitting in my chair playing a game on my other TV and i wasnt paying any attention to the background, then i turn around and my friend was wackin off to the tube.......i never let him over again............

Well I have the front, the one on the left, the one on the right, and the two speakers behind me.

My TV stays on NESN or ESPN all day and I watch most everything else on my computer. CNN if they're doing stupid shit like World Series of Poker, Dog Shows, etc. Don't have G4/TechTV.

Occasionally I'll watch this channel that shows the news from a different country every half hour if I want to see some crazy shit.
