Not even close. Pocky is yummy, but I'll never understand the obsession some people have with it (particularly the scary anime fans that run around hailing it as the second coming of Christ). And Toppo totally kicks its ass, too.

I enjoy it, I like it cause it has a great flavor and it takes care of my candy fixes without loading me up onto to much sugar or calories and you get a lot of them for cheap. I always get the Strawberry

Anything by Meiji kicks Pocky's ass. I think it's only popular cuz it's easy to get and you see it in anime sometimes.

Easy to get and not terribly expensive. I can definitely swing the $2 a box it costs me when the occasional urge hits, and it's worth every penny. :)

Agreed. It's completely overrated and it's too expensive for my taste either way.

I have never seen meiji, if I do I will try something made by them. I don't watch anime I can't stand it. Why would they put pocky in anime is it the kryptonite?

Chocolate. Darn. I really like the new mousse Pocky; they're really good and yummy. I remember when I used to bring Pocky to school back in grade school (or was it middle school...) and everyone would try to bribe me for some Pocky sticks. Yan Yan used to taste pretty good but I haven't had them for awhile.

I still mochi is the BEST Japanese snack though.

Pocky has a unique shape, so it's a fairly common for anime characters to be shown snacking on it, since it's easy to tell what they have.

The easiest Meiji stuff to get is Pucca (basically chocolate-filled pretzels- my fav), Hello Panda (chococlate filled biscuit cookies, and the most similar to Pocky), and the Mushroom chocolate- I don't know the excact name. It's got cute forest critters on the package. (Basically a lil' bump of chocolate or strawberry chocolate on a short breadstick, and shaped like some type of mushroom. My boyfriend's fav.)

If you've got anytplace nearby that sells Japanese food, look for a plain Meiji chocolate bar- they are wonderful! :drool:

Yes, but I had no idea how popular this was with CAGs. It's like video games, anime, and people that are generally shunned from popularity are intrinsically related.

I'm ashamed to like them.
