Any takers here? What game are you embarassed to like, a game that even you can admit is definitely subpar. And no smartass answers like GTA: Vice City or such. I'm talking about commonly reviled games.

PSOne or PS2

I enjoyed the Star Wars: Episode 1 adventure game on PS1 and Broken Helix (the first game to feature the Bruce Campbell voice over).

Castlevania: legacy of Darkness
Shaq-Fu
Art of Fighting 1 & 2

Legacy of darkness was great imo. The other two I can fully understand why people didn't like them, but I gots lots of enjoyment out of them.

I am not embarrased to like it, but I thought the Hulk was good. It was an exercise in simplicity, but it was fun to just smash stuff.

Does MGS2 count? It got great reviews, but all the fans seemed to hate the insane "plot" and the fact that you're stuck as whiny-ass Raiden for the whole game. Personally, I found it vastly entertaining.

None really... I hate a lot of games most people like... I hate some games I have.

Do The Thing and Run Like Hell count?

Back in the SNES days, I wanted SF2 but could only afford Art of Fighting out of the bargain bin at KB toys...

Even though it sucked, and I knew it, I enjoyed it a lot and played it often.

Yoshi's Story for Nintendo 64, countless wrestling games, WWE Crush Hour (multiplayer), and I liked Quest 64 at the time before I had played much better RPGs.

Galerians: Ash? I loved this game but it got mostly 5's in reviews. People say it's hard but it's really not, you just have to learn the weaknesses of the enemies and get use to the revolving camera.

Here's some games I think are overrated: GTA series, Kingdom Hearts (some people even dare to call it the best rpg)

Couldn't have said it better myself. I rented The Hulk and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I also really liked Jedi Power Battles for the DC.

I love the Dead or Alive series, but everyone I know hates it. Nobody understands that there is a great fighting game under the boobies.
Star Wars Episode 1
Jedi Power Battles (co-op was so kick ass!)
Enter the Matrix
hell yes, jedi power battles kicked ass co-op
"there they are...get them"
and enter the matrix, though horrible in many ways, had a great hacking mode, and is overall fun to play, i love bullet time beating everyone else

first one that comes to mind is GUARDIAN LEGEND. it was one of my favorite games as a kid on NES. all my friends hated it because they said it was way too hard and really weird.

Dyansty Warriors series- always gets rated low in game mags and websites

Rocky Legends- I finished all career modes in one day, playing from about 9AM to midnight.

Time Killers- Loved the arcade game, heard the Genesis port blew big time. I got good enough at the arcade I could beat the game on one credit.

Battle Monsters- Old Saturn game, and I have to admit, it looks terrible. It's so bad, it's good. To me leastways.

Supreme Warrior- Sega CD/32X combo game. First-person fighting game using FMV. Cheesy as all hell, but damn I loved every minute. "PREPARE FOR DEATH!"

Master of Orion 3- PC game that got a smattering of good reviews, but most bashed it. Lot of MOO fans hated it, I played one game of MOO3 over 8 months, as in I would play a few turns a night over that period of time. Forgot to back up my game save during a reformat...

Battle Arena Toshinden- The first PSX game I ever bought, at the same time I bought my first PSX. Everyone looks at Tekken now and thinks BAT blows. I thought it was great, though I will say that BAT2 was the first time my disappointment with a game was palpable.

King's Field series- I could never understand the hating on this series. First person action-RPG? Yes, please.

I will also admit to liking True Crime, both Raw wrestling games on Xbox, and both Red Faction games.

Ever play Street Fighter: 3rd Strike? My friend says, "3rd Strike is to chess as DOA is to Rock, Paper, Scissors" I'm inclined to agree but whatever floats your boat. =)

My game: Star Wars Rebellion - All my friends hated it but I enjoyed building massive fleets of Star Destroyers, sending spies on assassination missions, and blowing up random planets willy-nilly.

Yes...I love SF3 and most fighting games for that matter. that's a weird saying...since most fighting games use a rock, paper, scissors type of foundation for their engine then build from there... each attack can beat and be beaten by another...SF started that...
but yeah there are many variations on that saying that fighting elitists have. and all of them are equally non-sensical.

Mick & Mack: Global Gladiators for Sega Genesis.

Its some insane McDonald's sponsored game that is basically 2 kids with goo-spitting (yes, its very very wrong) guns that are out to fight pollution. And what happens when you beat the game? YOU GET TO EAT DINNER AT MCDONALDS WITH RONALD MCDONALD!!

Seriously, I still bust the game out from time to time. Its fun!

Also, Eternal Darkness. Everyone seems to hate it and bash it, but it is easily one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. I loves it!

Most definitely. And the glitches were the best, I once saw Darth Maul somersault his way out of a corner and then off the screen, he musta did at least 12 somersaults..My cousin and I had a good laugh at that.

Jade cocoon 2 for PS2...

Even tho, it has alot of flaws, I played through the whole game to get my money worth, I ended up loving it, I am now on my 3rd time throgh the game...

I enjoyed.. batman: dark tomorrow for gamecube.. It wasn't worth the price I paid for it, but the cg was awesome and the story was actually pretty good.. much better than the gameplay, unfortunately.

Quest 64 - for some reason I was addicted and still LOVE this game...
Shaq-Fu (Genesis version, not SNES)

not sure if everyone hates this one, but I really enjoyed I-Ninja as well

I loved Everquest Online Adventures, just don't have the time required to play

I really got into Enter the Matrix, also.

The Dynasty Warriors games- I'm sure once I'n not broke, I'm gonna buy me a copy of DW5. And I probably won't trade in 4, either.

Also, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Shallow, easy, but with just enough quirk to be very entertaining (and I loved finding out the most powerful attck spells were life, cure, and exit- not something most people would try!)

that game is crazy, by the way were you ever able to play as darth maul, the cheat never worked for me

South Park Chef's Luv Shack and Enter the Matrix. The minigames in SPCLS kick ass as SP remakes of classic arcade games. EtM was just fun and the bullet time kicked ass, though it got hard at times and the last ship level sucked so hard.
