What game should I get? Pheonix, Hotel, or Warioware SM?

Ok now let me explain my situation, I have been a fan of the point and click adventure games (well I played all the good online flash games like crimson room, the mystery of time and space, etc...), and well since Pheonix Wright and Hotel Dusk is getting so much attention, I may have to buckle down and buy one of those (since I do enjoy those flash games so much). Then again I played Warioware SM for the Wii for 20 mins and I was insanely hooked. I really don't know anything about hotel dusk and well right now I would be leaning towards pheonix wright if I were to buy one. So I am going to open it up to the CAG's. Do I get Pheonix Wright, Hotel Dusk or Warioware? Like I said I do enjoy point and click games, I have spent many saturdays in my junior year in high school playing mystery of time and space, but after 20 mins of warioware I got hooked.

If you can find some deal on it, I'd go with WarioWare because you've tried it and know you liked it. Aside from that, I personally liked Phoenix Wright the best out of the three, but it's pretty different from the games you described. It's very light-hearted and the main challenge is figuring out how items apply to witnesses and testimony. Hotel Dusk has an engaging story, but it's light on puzzles and heavy on dialogue IMO.
 
I haven't played Hotel Dusk or WarioWare yet, but I will say you can't go wrong with Phoenix Wright, especially if you even like games of the genre. Not to be missed, for sure.
 
They're all completely different games.

I can't comment on Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, but I would assume it's much like the other titles of the series.

Phoenix Wright's gameplay is pretty mediocre, though court battles are fun. The real entertainment comes from the humour of the game, such as the animations or script. The characters and plot are pretty good too, though.

Hotel Dusk... well, I haven't played it yet, but I've heard it described as an interactive murder myster novel. The gameplay and graphics look like they kick Phoenix Wright's ass, but I'm not sure about plot or characters. In any case, the characters will most likely be more entertaining in Phoenix Wright, but more real in Hotel Dusk. Plot is probably about even, leaning towards Hotel Dusk a bit.
 
Talking about Hotel Dusk as a game is almost a misnomer. Yes it does have elements of an point-and-click adventure game, but it has more a vibe of an adult "Choose your own Adventure" book. That being said, the story is phenomenal. There's neat little gameplay things to it, but by and large, I felt the p-a-c points were just kinda lame and kept me from getting to the meat of the game in the story. It's a must play (read?).

Phoenix Wright on the other hand doesn't emit the awesome, gritty vibe that Hotel Dusk does, but it's far more akin to its p-a-c adventure brethren from years-gone-bye. The court battles are awesome, the localiazation is amazingly well done and it's just a very fun game. Both games are inceribly well done and I think might even have more replay value than HD, though I don't typically replay too many games, so I'm not a real good judge of that.

As for Wario Ware, unless you really get kicks out of beating high scores, there's not much here that's worth $50. Phoenix Wright 1 and Hotel Dusk for $60 would be a better investment.
 
Hotel Dusk - I was a little bored at first (I've never played a PAC before), but I could not put this game down. WarioWarre is great for when you have ADD and need a quick fix. Hotel Dusk had me hooked for hours at a time.
 
Here's the secret: Hotel Dusk and Phoenix Wright have zero replayability.

Buy PW for $19.99 @ TRU, Hotel Dusk for $24.99 w/GGC @ BB, then sell them both when you're done with them and take the money to buy WW:SM.

You beat me to it! I was gonna say pretty much the same thing. Them 2 games for $50ish would be better then just WarioWare.
 
I'd say Hotel Dusk first. I think it's the best DS game to date, and a pretty unique experience for a video game today.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves is also a really good game and definitely worth picking up. It's my favorite WW game.

Phoenix Wright I could never get into so I recommend that last.
 
Eh, Depends what games you currently have. I actually have Hotel Dusk and Wario Ware SM...

Hotel Dusk - I was really into this for a while till you relize its not actually a game at all. There has been only one point when your really doing anything. So its not a point and click adventure at all. I like the style and the way you move... but there is a total lack of gameplay. After a while you will just keep tapping because you just stop caring about the story. Once that happens you just don't want to play the game anymore because that is the entire game. Imagine playing Resident Evil, Final Fantasy or any other game. But take the gameplay out of it. You are basically just reading and watching cut scenes. Wished there was more to it because there is a good engine.

Wario Ware Smooth Moves - Was fun and its a weird game. Its one of those single player games that you play with people to make it more fun. Alone you just after a while are doing mini games. Some of them don't make anysense so you will try a couple different ways to figure it out. But at least you are doing something. If you don't plan on playing it with anyone it will get boring. Still... more gameplay than Hotel Dusk.

Phoenix Wright - The thing that makes this game worth playing is that it is a fun and interesting story. Unlike HD where it is one LONG story that you move slowly from chapter to chapter, PW moves similar to episodes of Law & Order but more fun. If they were to combine some of the gameplay elements of both it would make a better game. Then again... this is more of a tap tap tap dialogue game.


My recommendation... get a Gamefly account. You can get like the cheapest one for like $15 a month or less. Play these one at a time for a month or so and just decide to stop it after that.
