What games/franchise would you like to see brought into this gen?

Do I even need to say more than I did in the title?

Personally, I would like to see Gex as a character come back. There were 3 games that came out all for PS1 (and some other consoles) all rushed out too quickly.

Also, Threads of Fate.
Gex.... what.

I am shocked that anyone remembers that awful character's exploits.
how could yoyu forget him? He's in one of those annoying Geico ads every commercial break.

Its hard for me to say I want to see franchise 'X' updated. Cos if its a 2D game, I dont want a new 3D version, I want a new 2D version, and unless its on the DS, it aint gonna happen.

I'd like to see a new Elevator Action on the DS. I think keeping it 2D, and using the dual screens could really make a new game special.

First post yay - Hello everyone

The game I would most like to see arrive on this current gen of hardware is Elite/Frontier. I think with the hardware and todays online capabilities, it could be fantastic.

Starfox Wii (Like what Lunatic Pandora said)
Jet Moto 4 (PSP/PS3)
Gran Turismo Mobile (PSP)
A new Crash Bandicoot by Naughty Dog (Highly doubt it)
A new Spyro by Insomiac (Highly doubt it)

Super Mario RPG: LotSS ported to the DS. Graphical updates and a bit of extra content would be nice, but not necessary.

Twisted Metal PS3
A good Tony Hawk game

7th Guest, 11th Hour, Leisure Suit Larry, Full Throtle, Sam & Max, and pretty much all of my other favorite old school adventure games on the Wii.

Tie Fighter, none of that X-wing vs. Tie Fighter bullshit either. Just Imperial stuff. I'd buy a new computer next week if they announced Tie Fighter 2 today.

Make a new home console version of Earthbound, or a second Chrono trigger hell even the original with updated graphics and extra contect would warrent a purchase from me..
its overdue!
I totally agree, but without the original team of incognito doing it, I just feel sadness. Twisted Metal 1 was suck a fruckin sweet game, then game twisted metal 2 which was great, but I still think TM1 was the best in the series and lets face it 3 and 4 sucked so much ass it's not funny. Black was tight, I guess I just long for the old days of my gaming past, because there real isn't enough time to do everything in this world.

Streets of Rage, I totally second this one! I have 2000 points sitting on my wii right now and I wanna go get another 2000 and grab 1,2, and 3 to play again, but there is so much of a backlog beore I get there. I know that sealed copy of LE Final Fantasy XII that I bought on halloween 06 is around here somewhere.... ooh there is silent hill 3 and mario galaxy

Chrono 3. Seriously. Chrono Trigger and Cross are easily two of my favorite RPGs ever --which is saying lot since I played so many-- and the two games work so well together, I'd love for it to be wrapped up as a trilogy.

And Vagrant Story- another great RPG.
Super Mario RPG: LotSS ported to the DS. Graphical updates and a bit of extra content would be nice, but not necessary.
I second that one as well. I'd buy it just to give Nintendo a hint that... maybe people do want a real Mario RPG (Paper Mario is good but falls way short of the greatness that is SMRPG).

And while we're at it, can we get Bahamut Lagoon ported to the DS or at least on the VC? It was such an awesome game and most people will never know about it (never made it to the US).

Bah... there's so many good games from the past that are being ignored just because all people play these days are Mindless Shooter 3s and Movie Tie In Game Xtreme.

It's funny that I came across this question because I was just thinking about this the other day. In light of the new Ghostbusters game coming out, I started thinking about other products of the 80's that would be awesome to see in HD on next gen systems.

My biggest desire is to see a Gremlins game. Basically, the game would consist of being able to create your own gremlin, and just wreaking havoc throughout the city. Online multiplayer would allow you to form little (until you find water) gremlin gangs and just destroy shit. To me, this would be fun as hell. Call me crazy!

streets of rage ( full 3d with interactive environments upgradeable characters and online /offline co-op and online battle royale brawl type fights and ranking system and maybe a move creator editor of some sort and character creation)

Chakan the Forever Man ( still pissed the Dc didnt come through with that sequel)

Ducktales/ Rescue Rangers/ Darkwing Duck ( great cartoon series that would be awesome if done in a fully realized 3d world ) the nes games were ok but i always wanted more from them.

Strider

Werewolf

Karate Kid ( you should be able to play through the best parts of all the films)

Yie Ar Kung Fu

Primal Rage

Eternal Warriors

Re1/RE2/RE3 ( id like these games remade using the re4 engine so youd get to experience those games in a more action oriented fashion complete with those button reaction sequences and some kind of online /offline multiplayer and co-op)

Flying Warriors

They should make a game pitting all the old mascots together in a smash bros like game. How cool would it be to have Gex vs Bubsy vs Aero the Acrobat vs Coolspot or Awesome Possum? It would sell a million copies on kitsch alone.
Dark Cloud 3
Amen.
A good Tony Hawk game
Amen.

Also, some form of Lemmings (as long as it uses a static camera) and/or Kirby (outside of SSBB, of course) on the Wii would be nice.

down with you 2 on the pokemon in 3d front. ive been wanting this for years now and the ps3 and 360 could pull it off. hell they could have pulled it off last gen. just take the stuff from pokemon diamond add some stuff and make the battles real time 3d and your golden.

A-Team

Imagine a game like GTA, but featuring the A-Team. You would basically go from place to place helping people and avoiding the police. There could be some Rainbow Six type elements in there too commanding your other team mates and such when in combat.

Splatterhouse
Ecco the dolphin
Duke Nukem
Star Tropics
Monsters in my Pocket

Gotta agree with the people that said Gremlins and Zombies ate my neighbors too, done right, not like that monster madness crap.

Skies of Arcadia
Panzer Dragoon (preferably a new RPG, but a new shooter would be good too)
Soul Blazer
Crazy Taxi
Shenmue
Altered Beast (but with a bit more depth, maybe as an Action-RPG)
General Chaos (with a cartoony style like Team Fortress 2)
Adventure Island

See, my thought on Gremlins is that like Ghostbusters, it's been gone so long, it would almost feel like an original IP...but one that felt familiar right off the bat. I agree about the Monster Madness thing though. That game was pure crap. I think I'd want a new Gremlins game to be open-ended. Either like a GTA style, with a beautiful town of people to terrorize, or even RPG oriented like Oblivion.

Wow, I just found out that there was a Gremlins game made in 2002 for GBA (and another in 2001 for GBC actually). The last Gremlins movie was made in 1990. That's a pretty strong franchise to have a videogame 12 years after its last mass market exposure. Damn, somebody get me Don Mattick! This game would kick ass on 360!
