PC:

-PoP:TT
I hate platform jumping :(

-SW:EAW:
Can't finish the escort Antellis(sp?) mission because of a game bug. Only work around is to restart mission, fuck that after I spent a long time building my fleet and taking back every system from the empire in bloody battles.

-Splinter Cell: CT
Just got bored of it.

-SW: Galaxies
Was a vetern from Week 1 (june 2003), played all the way until August 2005. Reason for giving up?
To name a few, Kiddies running and ruining the game economy, lack of support from Sony, bugs, bugs, and more bugs, guild mates quiting the game , friends quiting the game, nerfings shit left and right, Combat Upgrade, NGE, Nerfing professions, making TKA's useless (my tka was a badass) and so much more. Dumped a few hundred thosand credits into my houses to last me over a year incase I decide to come back.
Never reached Imperial Master Pilot... (I think I was 3/4/4/4), I think it was because of that 1million xp requirement :(

-City of heroes
Tried it out for the free month, liked it bought the game, paid for 3 months, did some leveling, got all my characters PENTIONED :( (so it wasn't fun running around as Jill Valentine when they forced me to rename and refigure her)...at the end of 3 months, just quit :| However my Agent K (MIB) hasn't been pentioned :)

-Beyond Good and Evil
Fun game , but stopped when I got lost in some sort of factory like place

-SW: KOTOR
At first my old video card couldn't handle it very well so slow frame rates really turned me off, got back into it last year with my new video card and the game was actually fun. Stopped at the point where you select one of three planets to go to for various missions.

-Star Trek: Armada 2
Fun game , got far into it, but then stopped

-Sims 2
Halarious but then got bored after 6 months, however the new pets expansion WILL get me back into the game.

-Star Trek: Bridge Commander
Did pretty good then STOPPED at that Data mission

-Star Trek: Klingon Acdemy
Couldn't play it because of slow card, new card could play it but windows XP made controls hard

-SW: Force Commander
Shitty Graphics, Shitty game play, stopped

-ST: New Worlds
Couldn't get use to the controls

-Need for speed Underground 1 and 2- New card made it amazing to play, but then stopped... gave NFSU2 a day, then stopped.

-NFS:MW
Played it to death but then stopped.

-Doom 3
Got lost in the dark, stupid flashlight...I hate when they also bring puzzles into FPS. Bought the expansion for 6.XX at Microcenter a few months ago, never installed it

-Sonic Heroes
Got bored of jumping around long ass levels.

-Silent Hill 3
Got into it , then stopped after i escaped those two monster things in that round part of the mall..

-Silent Hill 4
Stopped when I couldn't figure out how to get into the game, felt fucked up.

-Jedi Knight: Dark forces 2: Mystery of the Sith add on
Got lost/bored, use a cheat to skip to the end.

-CNC: Generals, and the Zero Hour Expansion, never really got into single player, but played Multiplayer to death!

-CNC: Renegade
Lost in that stupid town mission :(

-Star Fleet Command 2-3:
Got bored, beat SFC 1 though :)

Dune:
Got bored.

Metal Gear Soild Substance:
bought it because it was the FIRST Game that I saw that finally a DVD ROM GAME!! Too slow for my card back then , but now I just can't figure it out so I gave up.

Knight Rider: The game
Fun for awhile, but had some frame rate issues, so I gave up

Falcon 4.0/4.0 updated version
-Meh

GTA 3, VC, SA:
Fun for awhile but then I quit because I got board of shooting, running over people and shooting down police copters with my rocket launcher..

TMNT 1 and 2:
Had some fun for awhile, but then stopped.

No One Lives forever 2: A spy in HARMS way
Actually pretty good til I stopped :|

007: nightfire
Good game and got pretty far til i stopped :(

Max Pane 1 and 2
Ok games, but never got into them

SW: Battlefront 2
Stuck on final level...Vader is a bitch to control..........

Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix
Beat the first one that my brother let me borrow his copy. Bought this one , installed it, found out my card is too slow for it so I shelved it for awhile, got a new card played it a bit, too freaken hard. Gave up. Haven't touched it since my new card last year.

Jedi Academy:
Played single player for awhile, got bored. Multiplayer was fun til it became a ninja slice and dice fest :(

JK 2: Jedi Outcast
Played through single player for a while. Got bored/stuck somewhere and gave up. Player models , for the time period looked amazing (quake 3 powered), but then afterwards looked to wierd. I think its time for Raven to make a new Jedi Game following the next adventures of Kyle Katarn.

I give up on a lot of games for no particular reason. I've been playing DMC1 on and off for like 5 years and haven't finished it (started over a couple times)

God Im gonna get laughed at...Super Mario Sunshine, I'm trying to find it so I can actually beat it 100%, man some of those missions are hard.

Gun - I stopped doing the side-missions because one in particular was endlessly boring, and eventually got to a boss that wasn't taking much damage. I admit that I went to gamefaqs because I was already peeved at the game, and found out that apparently I needed to level up more through the sidemissions. So now its on the trade pile. I probably wouldn't have given up so easily if I bought it full price, not as a $9 CC sale game.
God Im gonna get laughed at...Super Mario Sunshine, I'm trying to find it so I can actually beat it 100%, man some of those missions are hard.
Getting all the blue coins in SMS is ridiculous.

Ys: Ark of Naphitism - Stopped because of some of the platforming mechanisms
Bard's Tale - Got bored of it
FF X - Tried 4 times, but couldn't get into it.
Arc the Lad: Twilight of Spirits - The characters bored me.
Beyond Good and Evil & PoP SoT - Quit after 2 hours into each of them. Might pick it up in awhile.

I have this compulsive urge to complete every mission and side quests in some particular games. This in particular applied to:

-WoW
Grinded my way to level 40 before deciding sleep was worth more of my time. Not that I played 24/7- the game just lacked any real story.
-Oblivion
So many dungeon runs with identicle properties, I didn't have the will to finish the main quests.

Final Fantasy X-2 - It got WAY too boring to play after awhile. It felt like work at a certain point....

Midnight Club 2 - I cant get past this one unfairly hard race. Sucks too, since it was a decent street racing game for its time.

Need for Speed Underground 2 - Gets too boring after awhile....

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - Just could never get into this game. Way too boring and overrated. I just dont see whats so great about this game.

We love katamari: After playing the first game to death, it's just not the same.

Trauma Center: I'm about to give up on this game if one of my blood vessels pop from swearing too much.

Polarium: It's a good puzzle game, but Tetris wins my gaming heart hands down.

Metal Gear Solid Digital Novel: Maybe it's because I wasn't there from the beginning of MGS to understand the story better, but i just find this novel boring.

Harvest Moon: wonder life - I like HM games and was looking forward to it, but I don't think I lasted a season before I quit on it.

Nintendogs - played it for a month, wasn't bad, but then I got Animal Crossing and my dog could be dead or whatever happens to them after so many months. May check on him again someday.

Side note for SMSunshine, I need 3 blue coins still for 100%, but then I gotta dig it out.

ICO - Couldn't handle having to drag around that brain dead bitch.

Super Mario Sunshine - Couldn't get past the horrible camera.
ICO
Seconded.

Also, most RPGs. Just can't get into them. I did beat Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, and FF7 though. Anymore, I don't have the time for epic quests like those entail. Ah, real life.

Splinter Cell - Was fun the first couple missions, as soon as it hit the oil platform though... BLECH! One mistep and MISSION FAILED! Ugh. I have a copy of Splinter Cell 2 that I received as a gift a couple years back, still sealed... maybe I oughta try that just for the hell of it.

Summoner 2 (PS2) Started off with lotsa potential, but gawd it got so.. so... BAD Diablo clone esq that I couldn't take it any more. But at the same time, I really like the Dynasty Warriors series.

Ninja Gaiden. Yes, Ninja Gaiden. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the combat. HHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATEEEEEEE the puzzles.

Super Mario Sunshine - So tedious, mediocre, TOO DAMN EASY. That last part is why I don't enjoy most of Nintendo's stuff any more.

Metroid Prime 2 - I LOVED the first one. The second's map navigation and EXCESSIVE backtracking make me hate the bastard.

Final Fantasy VIII - *spits*

i've given up castlevania ds for the moment. can't figure out which is harder finding the entrance to subterrainean hell or deciphering the walkthroughs on gamefaqs.com.

Practically every RPG I've ever started I quit around the 7 hour mark. I just get very bored of reading/watching instead of playing. This includes FF7 which after starting for the 4th time this summer, I have finally come to terms with the fact that I will never beat it.

ICO - Couldn't handle having to drag around that brain dead bitch.

Thirded. I bought it because everyone said it was so good and emotional and all that. I played it for about five hours and got bored with it. It's like one big escort mission, the combat is awful, the graphics are bad, and the controlls are clunky too. Just wasn't my cup of tea. I'm scared to play Shadow of the Colossus because I think I might feel the same way about that.

At the moment I'm trying to get into Super Monkey Ball but I'm not understanding the appeal of the game so far, maybe I need to get farther in it. I'll probably end up quitting it though.

Baiten Katos - around the 18 hr amark in that stupid dungeon where the garden is upside down and it has the throwback level to Tower of Druaga. This thing frustrated me to the point i was just shaking. I said enough and turned it off and have not gone back.

I quit before finishing most of my games so no biggie really... I cant even remember the last game I completed.

Midnight Club 2 - I cant get past this one unfairly hard race. Sucks too, since it was a decent street racing game for its time.
Ditto.

Splinter Cell - surprised at how mediocre Splinter cell was, I stopped less then 2 levels in.

Deus Ex - Story was interesting, but gameplay on the console was atrocious

Mad Maestro - Playing with a controller is a pain

Gitaroo Man - Quit on the last level. By that time, I was burnt out by hard levels. Never picked it back up.
i gave up on Star Ocean after i fell asleep playing
you know thats the first PS2 game I bought for my PS2 a week before I bought it (Blackfriday 2005), opened it BUT never played it :O
Zone of the Enders 2. Fighting multiple enemies was a pain in the ass to me.
Of everything stated in the thread, I have to say "blasphemy" only to this. I recently picked it back up a few weeks ago and am amazed at the awesomeness. And the intro is one of the best videogame intros of all time for me.
This game can be beat it in like five hours. Give it another chance.
ICO - Couldn't handle having to drag around that brain dead bitch.
Aww, come on. The game is only three to four hours long. Endure through it.

And yes, by today's standards the graphics aren't much above PS1 or N64 quality, but it is still a great game.

At the very least, give Shadow of the Colossus a chance. It is a much better game, though very similar, and would appeal more to people who didn't like Ico.

EDIT: Forgot my own games.

Chrono Cross - Got stuck on a boss, tried to beat him several times yet couldn't do it. I also didn't like the game that much anyway.

Final Fantasy VIII - I've tried to start it twice and can never manage play it beyond that first cave with Ifrit. No explanation for this one. I just stop playing.

Sonic Rush - Stuck on the last boss.

Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix - The language barrier got to me, even though I'm extremely familiar with the original and I used several translation FAQs.

The Elders Scrolls III: Morrowind - Way too much stuff jammed into this game. I'm a completionist so seeing to its end would have killed me anyway.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - ^ Same situation.

Star Wars: Alliance - As much as I loved Tie Fighter, I absolutely could not get into this.

Otogi: Myth of Demons - Got through like the first level and never touched it again.

Advance Wars - I'm like one or two missions away from the end and just stopped.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike - Stuck.

The Longest Journey - Oh my gosh! I really like this game, but everytime I play it I start falling asleep! And it's freaking long! I play it like once a month. There's no way I'll ever beat it.

Star Wars: Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight - As much as I liked this game, I never did get through the single player, though I played multiplayer to death.

Silent Hill - I'm like halfway through it and I just stopped.

I'm sure there are tons more, but those are the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
LoZ: Wind Waker.

I find it boring having to spend 15 minutes sailing on your boat to your next destination.
OMG, 15 minutes to sail your boat to your next destination???????? fuck THAT... Bought it on my bday in 2004, played it once and never played it again.

Yay, good to know others find SMS difficult. I thought I was just bad.

I agree Xenosaga is hard, but with a guide its almost too easy...
Star Wars: Alliance - As much as I loved Tie Fighter, I absolutely could not get into this.
I played through it once.. it was like 50 some mission..... after mission 30 I was like SHIT I AM STILL NOT DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and some of these missions were long or hard. I did beat it though. *phew* It takes some time to get into it as you go from a nuetral pilot to joining the rebellion...but sadly we never saw an Empire version of this :(

Sadly, I was never able to beat the final boss on Psi-Ops. I must of tried a million times but to no avail.

Also I never finished Silent Hill 2

Tetris on Xbox Live, I had this soccer mom POWN my ass hard. She laughed at me and said it was alright and that it happens. I almost wanted to cry. I have never played tetris at all since that day.

TETRIS??????????????????? Tetris is one of those games that go on pretty much forever or until you fuck up and the blocks reach the top.

Im pretty good at it but after 10 minutes my mind gets bored and so I start fucking up trying to get 3-4 blocks to score.

The lady was doing ultra combos dropping big blocks onto my screen.

King's field 2. I spent months trying to beat it, I even had a strategy guide yet I couldn't beat it. I was at the FINAL area. Yet I needed a key from WAYYYYYY BACK WHEN and I couldn't find it. I gave up. And this is why I'm eternally bitter at Agetec

Brain Age - I got my brain to age 22 and couldn't go any higher, plus some of those tests frustrate the hell out of me (namely Head Count)

Morrowind - I could tell this game was gonna be damn near endless, and quit like an hour into it since I didn't wanna invest the time in it.

Ys: The Ark of Napishtm - Nothing wrong with this game. I just made the mistake of starting it a week before Kingdom Hearts II came out.

Dark Cloud - I thought the game sucked, plain and simple

Shinobi (PS2) - TOO GODDAMN HARD!

MGS2 - After Raiden was introduced, shortly after I was so annoyed by him and his whiney g/f that I stopped playing and never looked back.

.hack//INFECTION - the combat blew (non-existant combo system), and dungeons were long and tedious.

I would say that Harvert Moon games don't count. I know that the last unloackable on Friends of Mineral Town doesn't happen until 600 hours of gameplay. Six-hundred hours! So, I would guess that anyone that owns that game can say that they have given up on it.
Sadly, I was never able to beat the final boss on Psi-Ops. I must of tried a million times but to no avail.
No biggie there the ending is absolutely ridiculous, but that was a fun game.

Pulls the ol' "to be continued" stunt but I don't think we'll ever see a sequel.

Dark Cloud - Lost interest after one of my weapons went missing for some reason
Call of Duty 2 - Got Oblivion and meant to start it back up, but I'm strapped for time lately
DOA Volleyball - I only really played the multiplayer for a while
Fable - Got somewhere... Then forgot I owned it.
Pokemon Colosseum - Stolen memory card killed it
Shenmue II - Xbox harddrive died, gave up.
Shinobi - Friend gave it to me, played one level put it on the shelf to never be seen again
Smuggler's Run - Was there a point to this game? I really don't remember
Spiderman 2 - I had way too much fun having Spiderman A.D.D. to do any missions past Mysterio (Also quit on Spiderman 2 for DS, because it blew, and blew hard)
Splinter Cell - See Shenmue II
Star Fox Adventures - Got bored
Star Wars: Clone Wars - Wasn't too fun
TMNT - Only found it fun with friends
Untold Legends - I couldn't even tolerate the game anymore, and I usually like RPG's, but this was just too bland.
Wave Race - Only played it for the multi-player, I don't think I missed unlocking anything anyways

Oh man, too many to count--I was an absolutely awful gamer in my NES days and really only remember beating FF, SMB 2, and Bionic Commando. Sad, I know. Now I mostly stick to sports games. :) Anyway, the ones that stick out:

--Most of the C&C series. I reached the final mission in the original C&C, couldn't beat it in about 10-20 tries, and gave up. I wish I could say I'd gotten that far in Red Alert ... or Tiberian Sun ... or Red Alert 2 ...

--Ninja Gaiden games--same story as above. I still own all 3, and have never beaten a single one. Hell, I had a good friend who introduced me to these games back in the day who was a crazy gamer, and I never saw him beat them, either.

--FFVII--I'm going back to this one. I was playing it on a slow, crappy PC while in college, and I'm pretty sure finals got in my way and I never went back. After recently beating FFX (on my second run through that game), I'm inspired to go back and try to finish the other FF title I own BEFORE I get FFIII for my DS ...

--GTA3. The only GTA game I ever owned, and the only one I'll buy, because the game made me motion-sick. No joke. I've got the same problem with FPS games, which is why I'll never buy one of those.

Man, a shorter topic for me would be what games have I beat?? LOL... I have a bad case of not finishing my games.

For example, I like RPGs. I usually get started, then something tears me away from it for awhile, and when (if?) I go back I usually have forgotten the story up until that point so I start over. Or another game gets my attention and I forget about going back.

Simpsons' Hit and Run: The novelty wore off, plus I got tired of all the racing missions. Not too big a fan on driving games.

GTA3: Just got too pissed off on some of the later missions and trying to do some side missions like the ambulance or firefighter missions and accidently running over a patient on the last level.

FFVIII: I got to disc 3 and got lost, had no clue what to do. However, I just restarted it and am almost to disc 3 with the help of a strat guide to find some stuff I missed.

Chrono Cross: I just got tired of it. I loved The Trigger but this one wasn't as fun. Didn't really latch on to the character like I did with The Trigger.

Black & White: Fun game and all, but I couldn't get the hang of the little nuances.

Kingpin: I remember when this first came out on the PC. I updated a patch, and it fucked up the save games. If you updated, you couldn't play an older save.

oops, bought it a few weeks ago for the PC...haven't installed it yet..maybe I shouldn't.

Was it that blur effect in the game? If so you can just turn that off.

my brother is like this too...heck I remembered when back over 10 years ago when I was borrowing my friends Laptop and playing doom..he said he felt dizzy... some people just can't take it... not there fault.

Everygame I have ever bought except halo and halo 2... I almost beat LoZ:OoT but got stuck on the slow runnign zelda part.

I did beat some marios too and tetris actually!
