What instruments do CAGs play?

I used to play the violin, probably for around 7 years or so. Was in an orchestra through all of junior high and high school. I gave it up when I got to college though but I could probably pick it up and play mary had a little lamb if I really tried.
Even lamer: I play tuba...

Also trombone, euphonium, trumpet, recorder, and a little guitar. Slowly learning mandolin.
I hope I can post this without sounding like a jerk, but your comment brings up a question I've wondered for a while...

Why does someone decide to play an instrument like the Tuba/trombone/etc.? It's not like Tuba players are known for picking up women (guitar, drums, piano, heck, I'll even give you flute, violin, and maybe even harp).

It's not something I can envision as "fun" - like a harmonica. It's not something I can really see someone performing in an inspiring way like playing revelie (sorry if I misspelled) or (Heaven help my musical ignorance) Tapps (?) on the trumpet.

But yet there's all these kids out there who took up the Tuba or the Trombone and they will come right out and say "yeah, I think it's lame but I play it". So why, then, if you think it's lame, did you take it up in the first place and continue to play it?
