What, is Domino's like a high-end pizzeria now?

I used to deliver for domino's. the mozzarella comes in crumbly little squares. it doesn't even taste like real mozzarella.

Hmm... this is what I suspected... I think the provolone is higher quality..

Not that there is going to be much Domino's ordering in my near-future. See my other thread.

Hmmm, I dunno what the whole Cali cost of living coming in here. I'm at Cali and I never paid that much for a pizza.

Over here at first we only had Dominoes and Pizza Hut. I hate Pizza Hut...it's so damn greasy and always gave me the shits. I dunno why all the hate for Dominoes, always loved them. We also have the 5-5-5 deal and the Tuesday deals.

After Papa Johns came, I do enjoy PJs but it's usually not cheap. Then we had Little Ceasars come here (Which I always bought in Miami with friends every Saturday as we chilled at night gaming) so hell yeah 5 bucks =

Dude you live in Santa Cruz? Are you new there? You need to go to Pizza My Heart. Free delivery and their pizza is fucking awesome. They started opening a few more around NorCal too but Santa Cruz is where it originated. I think their minimum for ordering is only $10 or so.

And for cheap pizza, nothing beats Little Caesars for $5. And pick Round Table over Dominos next time, I'm pretty sure they're open late around there too.

Cici's is disgusting. My dumb ex girlfriend always tried to get me to go there and somehow I avoided it for 2.5 years. A couple of my friends worked there years ago, and they said each pizza cost 15 or 25 cents to make.

A buddy of mine that worked at Domino's said a large deluxe costs them like 2 bucks to make. Which is understandable. A pizza ain't nothing but bread, cheese, and tomatoes. The cheese being the most expensive thing on it.

I highly recommend Mellow Mushroom to all South Eastern CAG's that have one nearby. www.mellowmushroom.com to find out where the closest is. They have great calzones too.

If I have to get something delivered from a major chain I usually pick Papa John's or my childhood classic Pizza Hut. I feel like $5 is too much for Domino's and they barely ever put enough cheese on.

Ill second this, there is a mellow mushroom in gainesville that is pretty good. But, if you live in Gainesville, go to Satchels Pizza and get a deep dish. Best pizza in the city.

I just did two mediums two toppings with an order of cheesy bread and a 2 liter of Sprite for $20 over this last weekend from Dominos. Made that last the whole weekend too.

Mellow Mushroom is a bit expensive, but every time I go, I end up eating the whole damn thing. It's amazing. I even made the hike to Chattanooga and checked the one out down there.. fantastic.

My friend mention this place to me, one day I shall hit up the East Coast and try their pizza. Gotta be better than all the damn major chains.

[quote name='Caliburn']Might be a California thing in regards to those prices? I dont know...

A large, two topping pizza from Genuardi's (a child franchise supermarket of Safeway) makes the best weekend pizzas - Fri, Sat, Sun any such pizza is $4.99!

Nope, 5-5-5 deal FTW.
Though my favorite is $5 Little Ceaser's and asking for the crazy bread butter to be put on the pizza, SO fuckING DELICIOUS!

In all my four years in college in Orlando, I never visited the Mellow Mushroom in Winter Park. Then I go home to Jax for a weekend and went to the brand new one built near my house on 3 of the 4 days I was there. (Mostly because my friend-I-made-the-drive-to-visit's girlfriend du jour works there.) I was kicking myself for not trying it until then. It was frickin' awesome and had the best, most dense meat lover pizza I've tried so far. The crust was actually delicious and far from just an afterthought. I remember the prices being only moderately "upscale," but thankfully my friend spent his per-diem buying all his friends lunch/dinner/drinks the whole time. (Ironically becoming the only heavy boozing I've done and at the end of my college career.) It's not an in-and-out pizza place. They're a pizza/subs/pita/salad/bar restaurant. If you're a beer fan, they've got a list you can drink through to get yourself a t-shirt.

As for CiCi's, it's true it's become totally disgusting over the years, but I always have fond memories of going there in high school for stuff-your-face eating contest with my friends and playing outdated arcade games. Every so often I stop at one still and happily pay the price just to gorge myself on the cheesy bread. (Yeah, yeah, sue me; I'm not really a cinnamon roll fan of any sort.)

Also, though the actual pizza is average, I'm a big fan of Hungry Howie's flavor crusts. mm, spicy!

I never went to Mellow Mushroom in Orlando either. I always wanted to and now kick myself for not going all those years before moving to Jacksonville.

In Orlando I always got Goodfellas Pizza and ordered my calzones from Broadway. For the Gainesville crowd; I love Leonardo's.

I live in Long Island so I have a lot of pizzerias to choose from.

As far as chains are concerned I think Papa John's > Pizza Hut > Domino's.

I placed PJ's in first because they claim to only use fresh ingredients with less chemicals and junk of that nature. I think taste-wise it is even with Pizza Hut.

Domino's is the worst pizza there is, but who cares? Bad pizza is still good in my book.
