What is the best deal you have ever gotten?
The Panzer was with about 10 other Saturn games and a beat up console that looked like a dog pissed and shat on it for about 6 years. But the game was in a somewhat mint condition, which I always thought was odd. The other deal was late in the day, and I guess the women wanted to get rid of her stuff. Im sure there was more at the sale, in fact I remember seeing a 2600 with a bunch a games in a suitcase, but I was late to work and had to roll.
Still good deals though, especially the second one. The nicest deal I ever had at a yard sale was getting an NES, R.O.B, NES Power Glove, and a couple of games for $5.00.

Purely videogames, I'd say it was finding 3 copies of Valkyrie Profile sealed at TRU for $20 each (Also got 3 sealed copies of Lunar 2: EB Complete at the same time for the same price).

My favorite deal though was when I was buying a HDTV in preparation for my 360 last fall. I bought a refurbed Sony 34" (34HS420) for $700 after a coupon, it was a nice enough TV but not drool worthy like the higher-end Sony CRTs. However, when they brought the TV out to my car it was a new 34XBR960, Sony's top of the line CRT (~$1700). And man does it look nice with my 360 and HD programming.

$0 for a full gig of RAM for my laptop is the best I've ever done (new at BestBuy).
But as far as video game deals; I got my DS for $30 new at BB when they sent me a huge reward zone certificate I didn't earn.

Last winters (2004-2005 winter) TRU Green Tag sale, combined with the exclusionless trade in deal at EBGames where you got $5 bonus credit for each game. I ended up turnin $30 spending into $80 EB credit.

haha I remember that. I'm sure lots of CAG's remember how profitable those days were. I guess that would be my best deal if you consider that a deal. Made hundreds so quickly with two eb's in my mall. =)

A while back I walked into a CompUSA and they had a bin of cheap games. Most were $5 and under I think. The thing was many of them had $10 rebates on them. Even though the rebate said they wouldn't give you more than the cost I still ended up getting a big pile of $10 rebates in the form of gift cards which I then used to get a DS for free and a Saitek X52 joystick for a good chunk off.

In a non-gaming story back when eBay first started the buy it now option I bought a large lot of old Transformers in excellent condition for $40. It included many of the most sought after ones like the Dinobots and most of the first 2 years of the line in immaculate condition. I think there were about 40 or 50 TFs in all. At the time I estimated the lot was worth about $1500-2000 based on eBay prices. Most of them have since been reissued and are worth less now though but it was still a great deal.

Edit: Forgot about this one. I had gone with a friend to Best Buy where he was going to buy some laptop on sale. We got in as they opened he was the 5th person on line. The ad said minimum 12 per store. They had 4. We both complained to Best Buy and the state attorney general and the BBB. The end result was us both getting $50 gift cards from both the store we went to AND Best Buy corporate for a total of $100 apiece. Not really a deal but I like free money.

Wind Waker/ Ocarina of Time Gamecube $5
Lunar Silver Star PS1 (complete except for soundtrack $20)
Digital Devil Saga 1 sealed $10

i wouldn't call this a deal, but it was a crazy experience i had and ...looking back, i feel bad about it... ;o anyway,

when PS2 wasn't even out in US, i bought a ton of Japanese PS2 games from buyrite for 9.99 and sold them on ebay for 80+.....sold at least 30~40 copies, and then back when Metal Gear Solid 2 was just announced, Asia market got this weird DVD with some videos on it (not games)...people on ebay were paying 120+ for the DVDs.. i bought about 20 copies from buyrite1.net at the time for 9.99 each and sold them on ebay...made a ton of money

used those money to buy myself a Apple Powerbook and spent the rest on a ton of stuff that i don't even remember what

Beast deal for games?

Mine would have to be the CC's B2G1 free deal. Best score was $19.99 games for $2 each.

These threads (one gets started like this every few months) always run wild because they aren't defined very well.

If its the most money made on a gaming deal:

$450 in profit for being a 360-selling bastard or

$200 in profit selling a WOW CE ($40 at Target)

Best percentage return on money spent:

.60 copy of Skies of Arcadia guide that sold for over $60 on ebay

Best "deal" in the long term:

Flipping $5 games for $10-$13 in EBGames credit (for many months and making quite a bit of credit which made all kinds of purchases cheaper by 50%)

Cheapest game:

.01 copy of Midway Arcade 2 (TRU)

Best deal on a new game that I wanted:

$16.88 for GTA SA on release day (wrote a whole thread on the Target raincheck)

Thank you CAG!

I totally scored in Gamestop's B2G1F. I walked into a store I visited not even a week ago and walked out with three Gamecube games I had not seen the last time I was there:

Disney Sports Football - $14.99
Beyond Good & Evil - $12.99
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time & Master Quest - free

Free... how? The price tag said $9.99! Whoever had processed the trade-in had used the SKU for the N64 game by mistake, and as a result, I now have a free copy of Master Quest which sits alongside my $20 black-label Wind Waker.

Sooo many for me but two stick out: Valkrie Profile complete and mint for $10. I took it to the register, bought it, then ran.

Ogre Battle on SNES for under $10 (when it was going for like over $100 at funcoland).

Damn way to steal my thunder!

I had the samething happen, bought VP for $10 mint and complete at a local hobby shop like 5 years ago.

the toys r us that i was working at were gonna throw it away because it was closing. asked them if i could have it. they said yes

One of the best off the top of my head was when I picked up 3 Gamecube bongos and 3 Wavebirds to finish off my set for $3.74 each last September at Target. It was a combination of a 50% off store closing sale and a 75% off clearance.

Mac Mini with a gig of ram, with the APPLE brand mouse and keyboard for $150 plus a 400GB hard drive that got for free. I'm using it right now, It's great for checking out porn and not getting BS installed on my Precious Media center.

There's been a few good deals over the years, here's the three best off the top of my head -

1. Complete copy of Suikoden - $6.99 at Gamerush (purchased with credit)

2. Fallout double-pack - 25 cents at K-Mart (cent for cent probably the best deal I've ever gotten)

3. New PSP and 2 games - $0 at Gamerush on launch day. Granted, I traded-in a bunch of crap over a few weeks to get the credit but I never got rid of anything I missed. I consider it a great deal looking back.

remember the ocarina of time/masterquest gc game that came free w/ windwaker i think... wellt hey had like 5 at my px and i brought one up knowing fullwell i couldnt' buy it thye couldn't figure it out (this was about a year after WW came out) as it was not for resale so they just gave it to me and said don't tell anyoneand pulled the rest from the floor still have it sealed :D
At my local gamecrazy, found an unopened Super Mario Bros for NES for $0.89 and turned it into a quick $200 on ebay.
:applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

I think I would have kept that and built a shrine around it though.

But I nabbed Guitar Hero used on Ebay for 54 bones(40 base price, 15 bucks for Priority Mail, 3-Day delivery). Complete in box, the stickers were in tact, all manuals. Didn't look like it'd ever really been removed from the box at all, aside from the game(wasn't sealed, but again, looked pristine).

Best deal I've managed so far, but I'm pretty new to regular game buying.

I stumbled across a sealed Valkyrie Profile about 2 years ago at a Gamestop. It rang up $49.99 pre-owned, but since it was still sealed, I talked the store manager into giving me the new price...$14.99.

Vandal Hearts 9.99
Vandal Hearts 2 6.99
Breath of Fire III 9.99
Breath of Fire IV 12.99
Tales of Destiny 6.99
Suikoden 6.99
Suikoden II 6.99
Lunar: Silver Star Story 6.99
Lunar: Eternal Blue 6.99
Total $50.94 after b2g1 deal at gamerush

But if considered, my free 360 w/ 2 games and a but load of other stuff from every10minutes takes the cake in terms of "best deal".

Best deal i have ever gotten was a 50 inch Magnavox projection TV that the guy that used to live above me left by the trash.
My wife and I went out to get Pizza and i had to test it. We wheeled it over to my window and ran an extension cord out. As we were testing it, the guy opened his window and told me that i could have it as he was moving. It worked perfectly, however a 50 inch tv in my little apartment was too big.
I sold it on Craigslist for 450$ and bought a nice 32 inch HDTV for a total of 50$ out of pocket.
That was a good day... and the lesson is, always look in the trash.

Here's a breakdown of a few of my best deals:

Nintendo NES (system only): $10
Gameboy Advance: $10 profit (package deal for $20, sold unwanted games for $30)
Used Dreamcast with controller and cables: $10 at a pawn shop

Chronicles of Riddick (Xbox): $5.99 used, but in like-new condition
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X (Xbox): $1, disc only

....and a few more I'm sure I'm forgetting

Bought a used DS w/ Super Mario DS, and Tiger Woods DS for $50 when it was still $150 new. Pretty damn good deal, and still pretty good.

I'd have to say it's a tie for me.

I picked up a mint, complete PS2 copy of Rez for $2 at a local garage sale and I also purchased a mint, complete PS1 copy of Intelligence Cube for a $1 at a flea market as well.
