This is kind of weird but, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what fishing games are the best... I suddenly have the urge to go fishing on the tv...
Sega Bass and Sega Marine Fishing

Dreamcast!
I'll have to second that. Dreamcast was the best system for fishing games. Don't forget the uncommon Sega Bass Fishing II and Bass Rush Dream (JPN).

However, Reel Fishing Wild, bleech!

the 3 for sega, sega bass, sega bass 2, and sega marine. also the one for ps2, sega bass duel.

sega owns fishing and tennis

I agree that the dreamcast games are the best. If you don't have a dreamcast, you could get sega bass fishing duel, which is basically sega bass fishing II but for the PS2. It's okay, just not the same without the fishing rod controller.

It will also depend on what type of fishing game you are looking for. Sega bass fishing and Sega marine are more arcade style while sega bass fishing II leans a little more towards simulation. All are great games though.

Oh, don't get the fishing controller for the PS2.. it sucks like a turbocharged Hoover... on crack.

And I gotta disagree with Sega owning tennis.. not after Top Spin came out.

Loading times annoy and Kill top spin. If it was not for those load times I would rank it #1 but I have to say that Tennis 2K2 is still king

Is it worth buying a dreamcast for $14.99 just to play the fishing games? or should I stick with the sega bass fishing duel on ps2?

Gotta go with the consensus, the Dreamcast ruled for fishing games. I have all three and they are awesome, just looking for a fishing controller. Haven't played/tried any others since too me most are boring. Also got to go with the majority and say that Sega also owned Tennis. Virtua Tennis and its sequel were incredible and actually got me interested in the sport. Top Spin is good but the loading is just killer on you to the point that you get bored.

cyberlian, why haven't you bought one already? I bought one shortly after lauch and have never regretted it. I don't only play it for the fishing games. There is so much to be offered on the Dreamcast it's incredible that it has that many in its short life span. There are tons of fighters, etc. Trust me once you have you'll be thinking it was totally worth it.

I can vouch and say it was a severly overlooked system almost forgot about now to be honest.

I bought one about a year ago and besides my gamecube ahve got the most use out of it. I am surprised at how good it is and how many good games came out for it considering it was killed pretty quickly.

Recently this week I actually picked up and played my previously bought copy of Toy commander... Very very fun game actually.

HA HA! I got my dreamcast along with Sega Bass Fishing and Sega Marine Fishing. I didn't realize that the Sega Bass Fishing game is auctualy a port of the same arcade game I constantly played back in the day. I'm still waiting on my fishing controller, as well as a light gun, that I got off ebay. I took the opportunity to stock up on a few other dreamcast games while gamerush is selling them for $.99. However, I did get in on the deal late, so there isn't a ton of stuff left to choose from at my local gamerushes, but I did find a few things like street fighter iii alpha. Anywhere else that is recommend for dreamcast games? I am still looking for Sega Bass Fishing 2!

Yeah I just walked away form a Sega Bass Fishing 2 on sale at my TRU. It must have been found during inventory they wanted $3 for it. I went backa day alter and it was gone. I could kick myself.

My first one got stolen out of my bros apartment.

Sega Marine Fishing is not just the best fishing game, its a great game period. I freaking hate fishing but that game is just plain addictive.

Don't forget - you can use the fishing controller for other games. Soul Calibur with the fishing rod is quite interesting.

I still did enjoy the fishing simulation of Reel Fishing Wild. I always bring it out on occasion cause it was good at replicating the actual experience of fishing, except for the whole underwater camera thing. Very calming experience, though some would call it boring.
