What is the hardest (intended to be beatable) game you've ever played?
goddamn parasite eve final boss. You go through all that crap of beating him (takes like 15 minutes) and then they make you run away from him through a maze, one wrong turn or you're too slow and your dead. I also don't like game guides. Thus I never beat it. I tried like 5 times but after wasting 2 hours on that final boss I called it quits. Still have yet to beat it and play the sequel.
Why the fuck didn't you just use GameFAQs? Why would you go through all that and then just give up?

Does anyone find that many of these hard games are more frustrating than difficult? I only play old-school games in emulation, so I can save anywhere, thus cutting down on 99% of the frustration.

The first Ninja Gaiden took me 5 years to beat. We got the game in middle school when it came out. Then I stopped playing the NES for about 5 years. Over the christmas break of my Senior year I decided to see if I could finally beat NG and after a week of retraining myself I finally finished it. It's a good thing the game has a good ending. It was well worth the 5 year wait.

The hardest game I've ever played to me was Devil May Cry.

I think Viewtiful Joe and Contra:Shattered Soldiers is both an overrated hard game. I'm not sayin its overrated as a game but its just not as hard as people made it out to be.

Ninja Gaiden games was hard for me too back then when I played it. The thing that makes that game hard was the respawning enemies.

I had that exact same problem, the first time you go through it, pause and draw a line map of what direction you're going, second time you should get it right....

Also, equip a club, there is a very very slight [almost impossible to notice] difference in walking/running speed, but it's there, and it makes a difference somehow.
