What is the most profit you have made from selling a game/game related item?

I haven't made like, loads of money in a single purchase, but sometimes when I sell my games I've gotten second hand overseas I make a fair swag of cash for about 5 or 6 of them, sometimes up to $100. Helps me to of course pay for the more expensive games (Star Ocean 2- I'll get you some day...)

Oh let us tear holes in this arguement as well.

So if I come across 2 sealed copies of Chrono Trigger at a pawn shop for $20 a piece, I shouldn't buy them to re-sell, or if I do I have to hold onto them for years first since "but buying something just to turn around and immediately re-sell it at a higher price is unethical and for quite awhile (and even to an extent now) was considered illegal".

Yes, you are dumb. So if I sell items on Ebay as a profession it's ok to re-sell to you at a mark-up, but average Joe gamer can't occasionally use their better knowledge of the market to make a buck. Hell, is the whole stock market unethical? Come back to us when you have an arguement that holds up even a little would you?

Theres a lot worse things than hoarding. Think about it this way, a guy who hoards 20 copies of a new game is still contributing to the sales numbers of the games and to the developers/licensors. Someone who buys 1 used game doesnt contribute to anyone except the company who sells it (who technically, hoarded it at a lower amount to re-sell for much higher) . As far as the developers/licensors are concerned, they might as well have pirated the game.

I found a Zelda Test Cart that they used at the Nintendo Repair centers. It is the bright yellow case (not gold).

Lady at Flea Market had it for $2.50

It had bad label, so I got $300 out of it. If it was Mint, I probably could have gotten around $500 for it


that is most for 1 item. I did stumble upon 50 SNES games all boxed at a local video game rental store about a year ago.
The highlights were: Harvest Moon, Mega Man X2, Mega Man X3, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire 1 & 2, Final Fantasy III, Metal Warriors, Lufia 1 & 2, and Earthbound(kept)

Needless to say I kept about 6 of the games and sold the rest for $1500. So $250 turns into $1500 and 6 games for my collection. That was my biggest one time haul.
