alright, lets face it.. games are getting too pricey. i know alot of collectors out there like myself, knows the value of their shit. but there are too many games in the market that sometimes you or other people are surprised this or that game is actually rare/sought after/in demand. and i know factory sealed games goes for alot more. way more at the most..

edit: expensive i mean in value.

Expensive as in... the most you paid for? Or expensive as in it's value?

The most I ever paid for a game is probably Suikoden II ($87). My most valuable game is probably Suikoden II.

Most expensive I ever bought? I paid like $110 for Fire Prowrestling Final Limited Edition for the PS2.

The game I have thats worth the most is probably my selead MGS3 Snake Eater Limited edtion with the sealed Saga dvd. That goes for $150 or more on feebay.

I do have a few Atari 2600 carts that are super rare according to digitpress, although I have no idea what they are worth.

Most valuable: sealed Suikoden 2

Most I ever paid: $90 for a new Final Fantasy III (SNES) when it first came out

Paid for? Perhaps World of Warcraft Collector's edition.

Most valuable? Dunno, perhaps Radiant Silvergun- got it in a trade for Cyberbots (never understood why people loved Cyberbots).

Wish they'd release Radiant in english and on Xbox live.

Be attitudes for gains.

the most I've paid for a game was the day 1 purchase of Half Life 2 at $64 + tax.

as far as most valuable, I have no idea.

for me, probably the most expensive so far is my sealed Project Justice for the dreamcast. there was a copy on amazon for months that was listed at $299. its gone now so i guess someone bought it. someone had listed it lately on ebay for $375 BIN. i got this game as a trade from CAG..

and the most i've ever paid for was for a sealed copy of Lunar 2 Eternal Blue for the Ps1 that included a sealed hardcover guide. i paid $147 (i got the guy to sell it to me BIN for that price).

subsistence you mean? it should go for alot more since its a sealed copy. and for your atari carts, i'd go to digitpress and find out myself. i went there a few times already, they have a nice store. ok selection, not a whole lot of rare software but mostly rare hardware. also, its funny how they value each item, but looks on ebay on how much they are going for and based the price from ebay instead of their chart :bomb:.

The most I think I've paid for a game was $100 each for Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire and Killer Instinct Gold on the N64. Not sure if KI gold was 90 or 100, but I damn well know SW:SOTE was $100. I may have bought some of the other $100 third-party N64 titles too; it's hard to remember. The most valuable I have is probably Panzer Dragoon Saga, or maybe one of my many TG16/TurboCD games.

Most expensive? Any game I paid full price for, even AFTER joining this site. That includes: The Warriors, GTA San Andreas and at least 2-3 others.

Most valuable? Hmmmmm.....I don't know....maybe my complete(but not mint or sealed) Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance II for Xbox.
I would say it would be steel battalion original price 299.99 I paid 99.99
Are you sure? I thought SB was originally $200...

I've never bought a game over $60... but I own:

Disgaea 1
La Pucelle Tactics
Phantom Brave
First Release of Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 22, Legends, and GT: Final Bout for ps1 (Imports)

Actually complete for everything but the last 3...I bought those when I was like 9...

Paid for: Halo Legendary Edition

Valuable: Metal Gear Solid (PSX) Signed by Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa, also my 3 copies of Metal Gear Solid 3: LE.

Most I paid for: Panzer Dragoon Saga at $120 in mint condition

Most valuable: I really don't know, it's either Panzer Dragoon Saga, MGS3 LE sealed, or House of the Dead for Sega Saturn mint with both guns.

The most I've paid for a single game is around $125 (Panzer Dragoon Saga on eBay, Radiant Silvergun at a store here in Japan, and a sealed MGS3:Subsistence LE on eBay).

I have quite a bit of "valuable" games besides those, including a boxed copy of Congo Bongo for Intellivision, which is apparently VERY valuable. *shrug*

Subsistence is exactly what I meant.

Theres a digitpress store near me in Clifton that Ive been meaning to hit up since I heard about it. I'll have to get my ass over there, right after I dig up those Atarti carts and see whats what.

I bought DragonBall GT: Final Bout for PS2 back before they did a re-release. At the time there were only a few thousand English language copies made. I paid about $125 for it and flipped it on Ebay for over $250. I never intended to keep it.

I guess The Orange Box coming in the mail since I haven't gotten a chance to open it yet :p

I'm more of a player than a collector. That's not to say I haven't had rare games in my possession before (The SMT games and MGS3 LE come to mind), but I usually play those games and then sell them again and buy other games to play since they don't do me much good sitting on the shelf besides look nice.

Paid for: Any of half a dozen Wii games $45

Own: Sealed copy of original SMB (Ebay value last time I checked ~180, paid 20)

Most I ever paid was $100 for Phantasy Star 4 on Genesis at launch.

Most valuable? Not sure, but I have a LOT of rare Saturn games and games for other systems as well.

Paid for: Pokemon Stadium 2 in my childhood. :( I think it was thrown away eventually...
Most Valuable: Maybe my Final Fantasy VII GH, now that it's a "rarity."
Least Valuable: Maybe my Final Fantasy Chronicles...

I had at one point a sealed copy of College Basketball 2k3 for the Gamecube. I sold it a couple months ago and it went for $150 or somewhere around there.

Most that I paid for: Not quite sure, probably any one of my Neo-Geo AES games.

Most Valuable: I have so, so many Rare/HTF/Sought Afters for each of my consoles/PC, if I had to wittle it down I'd say probably any one of the high valued Neo-Geo AES games from my list.

Eh....

The most I've paid for a game is probably just the 80 or so for Guitar Hero 2, but that really shouldn't count, since 30 of it was for the controller. WoW Collector's Edition would be next; it's actually 80 as well, now that I think about it. Other than that, I don't buy expensive games just to collect them. Unless of course, I can get 'em cheap!

The most valuable game I own has to be the open, but very good condition, black label copy of Final Fantasy 7 I own. I still need to finish that game....

Paid $69 for PS 4 at launch. Most Valuable? Who knows... FF complete for NES? i've never looked into the value of anything i still have.
I would say it would be steel battalion original price 299.99 I paid 99.99
The original price of Steel Battalion was $199. Who was selling it for $299? Sounds like Fingerhut crap.

The most I paid was For Halo Legendary. Before that it was Growlanser Generations Deluxe for $79.99.

The one I have with the most value is probably my Snatcher, Dragon Force, Shining Force III, or Guardian Heroes.

Most expensive- not really sure, the really pricey stuff I can usually talk someone into getting as a gift... perhaps FF12 CE at launch?

Most valuable- absolutely no clue, as I'm finding lately I really don't remember what all I own... I added .hack GU 3 to my collection list the other day, and as I browsed over it real quick I spotted Tomba and Tomba 2- I vaguely remember buying Tomba 2, but I had no idea I owned the original! (Which makes me pretty stoked, that's a good game.)

Least valuable- any number of crappy liscensed game or the occasional random sports title I get when people I know cut their collections back (can't turn down free games, ya know- sometimes I get good stuff with the junk.)

Or possibly the NES Mario/Duck Hunt cart... my sister's BF often says 'people don't buy this game, they find it alongside the road and take it home- well, that's how I got a copy, anyway.)

Probably DDS, which was also the most expensive ($55). Ebay listings are around $150 sealed, plus one douche charging $30 for a complete "save."

I had no idea Project Justice was going for that much. I picked it up at launch at it's MSRP ($19.99). Thank you, Capcom!

Eh.. most expensive I've bought would be any 50$ game I payed full price for.

Most valuable would be either Gitaroo Man or Marvel vs. Capcom 2, both complete, both bought when they were released for 50$ :D

Most expensive payment: $69.99 for complete Chrono Trigger one month after release.

Most valuable: Financial value - Marvel vs Capcom 2, mint and complete. Sentimental value - complete in box NES Top Loader with one dogbone controller.

The most expensive game stuff I have are

2 factory sealed Suikoden 2's

A Super NIntendo Counter tester

and a metroid action figure mint in box
