What is up with ebay allowing all of these bootlegers to sell on ebay

because Nintendo is a lazy ass bastard, and as long as eBay doesn't get yelled at Nintendo to put a stop to it, eBay won't stop em. I made a thread about this not too long ago too, and personally sent mails to Nintendo about 2 months ago and never got a reply and doesn't look like Nintendo cares, or they may not have the authority to stop it which I highly doubt since theyre Nintendo. o well.

just total BS that soo many fake Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon are listed you cant even find real ones unless you want to check every freaking listing

well best way to do it is to go to advance search and then scroll down a bit and filter out anything that does not come from the United States. thats what I have to do every time I search for ds games on eBay. after u filter it, there really arent that many ds games ebay actually is selling that arent bootlegged, lol, but still it will give you some options.

That's a good point. It sounds xenophobic but its best to find stuff from North America because there is a smaller rate of fakes.

There's so many companies doing this in Asia that if Nintendo wanted to stop the pirates they'd probably have to spend some of their kazillions of dollars they're already making while *not* doing anything about this problem. Really, why would The Big N even care since they're carrying home US Dollars on retrofitted oil tankers several at a time?

If anything, they probably figure once people buy these older pirated games, they will get more interested in other Nintendo games that aren't pirated and buy a friggin Wii.

This is not only annoying but illegal, and Ebay should put a stop to these bootleg sellers. Since Ebay is money grubbing corporation, this is highly unlikely and won't be stopped unless the issue is pressed by the publishers. I buy a lot of used games on Ebay, but with this flood of bootlegs into the US home market and subsequently being resold, I will be dubious of buying DS games on Ebay from even US sellers.

Ebay is becoming a huge, saturated disaster. It's getting pretty hard to sell (or even buy) high-ticket items without some bots or some scammers getting in on the action. Not to mention the mass bootlegs on there like you said, especially on the DVD front.

I think that these bootleggers get it through because of some sort of bypassing through loopholes. That or Ebay just doesn't care to look unless they get reports about auctions.

Actually, eBay GIVES a program to frequently bootlegged companies that allows THEM to pull listings themselves. Most commonly used by fashion designers to prevent knockoffs, but also used for the purpose of protecting intellectual property.

So homestly, if Nintendo wanted this done, they could hire someone to do it themselves.
