What is your favorite DS game?

It has to be Scurge: Hive for me. Metroid like action but longer than any Metroid games. And Star Fox as nice runner up.

I guess New SMB is my overall favorite so far. Others that I would consider close to it would be Final Fantasy III, Mario Kart and Yoshi's Island.

For all the shit that it got for being too easy, too short, and not being able to save at any time I really like NSMB. It was a great game and it's was nice playing a 2D Mario platformer for a change.

Mario Kart DS and the Castlevanias are close 2nd-4th too.

my second fave is sonic rush, man im soooo juiced for sonic rush adventure. i just hope it comes with some cool sonic swag like the wristband or plush. im soooooo mad i missed the boat on the 15 anniversary statue !!!!

Gah... one game? ONE?

At the moment I'd say NSMB - I just love the old school SMB3 feeling of it.

This thread is making me itch to break out the DSL and play a whole bunch of stuff... so. darn. many. GREAT. games.!

1. Hotel Dusk Room 215
2. Phoenix Wright Ace Attonery
3. New Super Mario Brothers
4. Mario Kart DS
5. Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow

I loved NSMB, Mario64DS, Mario Kart, and even Pokemon: Diamond but I'm gunna have to go with Kirby: Canvas Curse (such a great game)

I think I'd go with New Super Mario Bros as an overall favorite. I think I could easily come up with over a dozen I've loved.

My top 4, don't have a 5th really, lol.
1. Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
2. Kirby Canvas Curse
3. Meteos
4. Puzzle Quest

Didn't find MKDS and NSMB as good as I hoped they would be, and I never played a pheonix wright so thats why they are not up there on my list.

Allright, damint you guys just convinced me to buy Elite Beat Agents....

only $16 used.

That's one of the things I love about the DS. Nothing so CAG-atisfying as picking up a cool game for under $20.

Question - what's up with the original? Obviously it's "playable" but how much so?
My favorite DS games are:

1) 1701 A.D.
2) Ouendan
3) Trauma Center
4) Nintendogs
5) Hotel Dusk
scuze preez.

have you actually played 1701 AD yet or is it just a pre-emptive favorite? (i don't know, like a convention or something?)

it looks pretty bad ass. the score is super epic.

I'm surprised so many people are saying "Kirby"... might have to check that game out.

Any of you played Etrian Odyssey? It's pretty cool. RIDICULOUSLY HARD. Hard enough, almost, to not be fun. Right now I'm debating continuing playing. You level up for hours just to beat a mini boss, and move a few inches to the left, only to find another mini-boss that is even harder. More leveling up. I made a thread about it here actually, because that game reminded me what it's like to grind. (Worse than Bardstale era games, IMO).
What do you mean?
Well the first one is all in Japanese, er no? Just wondering if it's simplistic enough that you can figure it out (menus, gameplay directions etc etc) without speaking reading the ol Kanji.

I almost am leaning more toward wanting to play the original, because for some sick reason (I blame Robotechs Minmei) I kind of dig on the J-Pop. Well, moreso than Good Charlotte and Avril Lavign.

Oh, you mean Ouendan. Gotcha.

Yeah, it's really easy to understand. You said you bought EBA right? Since the games play the same you'll have no problem figuring out what to do. I prefer the Ouendan music myself. But then as my friend says I'm a "dirty anime bastard" so I like Jpop anyway XD

Also, Minmay rocks!

I tried Ouendan 2 and while I liked it, I have to say that not being able to understand the stories took something away from the game. The crazy stories are part of what's fun about EBA IMHO. I wish they'd just release Ouendan 1 & 2 with english titles, but no other changes. Of course that will never happen....

Just bought Hotel Dusk. I have one question but I didn't want to start a new thread. On the back of the box it says Rumble Pak compatible. How necessary is the rumble. Will not having it affect the enjoyment of the game?

Someone (me) needs to go to DS school...

WTF? Rumble on the DS? Wasn't aware there was a rumble pack???

Damn, I was just looking at hotel dusk on half.com... several complete copies for $17-19... with DS stuff, I never mind buying used. A cart is a cart is a cart.

Well worth a twenty spot?

Right now it is a tie between Phoenix Wright Ace Attourney, Mario Kart DS, and New Super Mario Brothers.

The game IS badass, I have the game, albeit a pirated copy (legit copy is on the way to my house as we speak)

It is absolutely addicting, it will last hours upon hours, and it is so much better than SimCity DS that it isn't even sane to compare the two.

If you're willing to pay ~$53 shipped for it you can get it at www.dvdcrave.com or www.ezygames.com . Both are Australian websites, but I've heard great things about each one. I ordered my (real) copy from DVDCrave Tuesday at around 11:30pm and it shipped 1:30am on Wednesday. :hot:

As many have said, this is an impossible question to answer...I'd totally digging Advance Wars: Dual Strike at the moment (never played an AW before), but overall I think I had the most fun w/ Age of Empires (but then again, I was totally addicted to the puter games for 5 years)...

I doubt it. Considering how badly it sucks for Metroid Pinball...I can't imagine it being any good for a touch adventure game.
