What kind of cell phone do you have?

I have the free samsung r225m or whatever, and its the coolest, because when I answer incoming calls, for the first 3 seconds, the people can hear me, but I can't hear them!!!! I get to say "Hello" like 4 times PER CALL. Bet your slider doesn't do that...... don't hate the playa, hate the game...

Well, you might. On the one hand, you made a rude comment, indicating that you probably don't care. But you are reading and responding within the thread, which would generally indicate that you do care, unless you are just trolling. If you don't care, I'd recommend reading other threads about which you do care, as life is far too short to waste whining about topics about which one does not care.

Forgot to include "I don't want any stupid cell phone" in the auction, hehe. I don't need to be "immediately contactable", people can leave a message and I'll get back to them when I'm home, instead of getting calls in the movie theatre, while shopping, during class, during an exam (yes, some people don't turn off their phone, then they ANSWER it like idiots, and then get escorted out of the exam, earning a big fat zero - I've seen this happen to at least 5 people).

Anyway, my dislike of cell phones rant over! ;)

I hate cellphones. I would only ever have one for emergencies or if my job required it.

The other day I saw a lady at the bank try to make a transaction while on her cell - If I was the teller I would have told her to hang up and pay attention cause she was being rude, and paying more attention to the gossip on the phone than to the teller.

And people who have conversations on their cell while driving really piss me off.

alright everybody just cool out. I was kidding.

I have an old ass nokia, the same one I had when I was in high school. I hardly ever use it but its pre-paid. I buy minutes now and then so I won't lose my number.

No extending antenna [I broke the antenna off my old one at least three times], built in speakerphone that actually works, voice memo recorder.
I never wanted a cell phone in the past, but I got my wife one for Christmas about 4 years back, and it ended up being very useful. Then I got one through work, and it also is very useful. I was using it too much, for non-work related activities, so when her contract ran out, we signed up on one of those 'share your minutes' plans.
It really is handy to be able to call a restaurant and get on the waiting list, or call my parents and chit chat while we're driving somewhere [I'm not driving], or just call and say Hey, this item is on sale, do we need any of it? when at the store.
I do, however, agree wholeheartedly with the comments on inappropriate usage of cell phones. In restaurants [especially quiet ones], in a checkout line, in a PARKING LOT [stay parked if you're going to get on the phone!], while driving, etc. But the problem, imho, isn't the cell phone--it's this constant selfishness, me-first-ness, and I'm-more-important-than-you feeling that has pervaded our society in the past years.
Even apart from the rudeness of talking on the call while driving, it is an easy way to get killed--a guy's wife at my work was on her cell phone, ran a red light, and got killed instantly : (. Don't do it--pull over, call them back, whatever. It's not worth it.
